Slow Payments

Has anyone else noticed that many mystery shopping agencies are taking longer to pay shopper's then they were before? Is this sleazy practice a reflection of the economy or are they just doing this because they know they can get away with it?

I personally haven't had any problems, now I only work for a limited number of companies, but so far they all pay like thier sites say...some all really slow, but they tell you upfront it will be 30 days or 60 days, etc, etc.

Maybe I'm just lucky, but all have paid me as agreed.
Overall I am not finding them significantly slower. I handle my business by months and standardly I still have open items for the two months prior to the current month. Some time during the current month the oldest month will be paid off. This generally allows for companies that take 90 days to pay. When I need to start begging for payment, I stop working with that company. I don't terminate them but just ignore them until forum folks are indicating that they are paying on schedule without demand.

There have been companies that were slow to pay or you had to remind to pay you as long as I have been doing this. There have been companies that have gone out of business owing shoppers money as long as I have been doing this.
I'm really getting tired of Service Sleuth's slow payment's...seems like there getting slower, still waiting for my oil change to come through, and my car needs another, I'm going to use my coupon and get my own oil change plus car wash for $26.99....instead of putting out $41.00+ and tying up that money for over 3 months. That one is my biggest complaint right now, 6 weeks should be enough time to get paid....

I agree. Earlier in the year my checks that come the beginning of the month were here right on time or a day or two early. Now I am having to wait until the end of the first week of the month for the checks. Not sure why these companies cannot use direct deposit.
They gain interest on all our money, think of the amount they get from all shoppers monthly.

I have learned over time and experience who to shop for and who not to. I only take a few of the 60-90 pay schedule as a fill. I have contacted companies for non payment and they usually come through. How does that saying go? First time, shame on them..second time shame on me.

Dunlap Enterprises is extremely slow - you have to EM to ask them where is your money and then it finally shows up a week later. I'm convinced they don't pay unless you ask them for your payment. I've stopped taking projects from them-not worth the hassle each and every time.
