HS Brands - out of business?

I have several shops with them completed and not reviewed now for 3 weeks.
I sent a message, no response.
Have they gone out of business?
Are any of you in communication with them? please let me know, thanks

I do believe they are a scheduling company, not an MSC.

I believe their slow payment comes from the fact they need to be paid first. Then perhaps wait a couple of weeks to earn interest on that payment before they disburse any funds.
I just did a pizza shop for them yesterday and it's already showing up as received this afternoon. What sort of shop did you do? I don't think they ever send email notifications for received shops. Are you sure they still say "completed" or are they showing up as received after all?

HS Brands shops are scheduled by KSS- or whatever their name is now. The shops that I see are available on both companies' sassie job boards.

Yup

HS Brands is definitely an MSC, and a fairly crappy one at that.

Have synthesizers, will travel...
CM opines--HS Brands is definitely an MSC, and a fairly crappy one at that.

Bob comments-- I began a relationship with the above MSC in 2005, with my last job in Oct. of 2024. During that period, I never experienced a single problem. I was always informed as to the pay with its time of arrival and I have no recollection of ever being sent a shovel of male bovine manure. My current shop tally is 247.

If my memory serves me correctly, I have never read of a single shopper being defrauded by HS AKA Service Sleuth. I do recall several folks, though, being unhappy with the time of payment. As I am aware of the elapsed time, it has never been a problem for me.
They are a full service MSC with 15 locations around the world with over 200 employees.

Their slow payment is likely because they have figured out that the money sitting in their bank account collecting interest is more valuable to them then the money sitting in our bank account's collecting interest.

Not worth it to me!

They are a HUGE company with huge client list. They handle many casinos. They also have a Nevada license and if you want faster payment, go get licensed in Nevada and work for them.

Their non-Nevada payment is one of the slowest in the industry, but they are required to pay Nevada "employees" much more timely.

As TerminatorBob states, they have not defrauded any shopper. They pay, but maybe not as quickly as most would hope.

423 for me (although some of those are huge projects, such as multi-day casinos or international travel).

Signup Date: Prior to 04/09/2002 - it could have been 1999 or 2000?

I have had expenses of > $30,000 at a time with them. Paid in full and per our agreement.
I've worked for them here and there, but I don't ever remember it taking that long for the evaluations to be edited and approved. From a process point of view, that's quite poor and shows a lack of professionalism and and respect for both the client and the shopper. If there are additional questions or clarification required on the shop, how in the world would a shopper be able to remember what happened 3 weeks ago.

So to make a long story short, if they are waiting weeks to edit and approve a shop, then they simply lack professionalism and lack respect for both their clients and their shoppers.

With the exceptionally low interest rates on deposits, that's unlikely. It is more likely that they are under capitalized and would need to borrow money from the bank at significantly higher interest rates in order to pay shoppers prior to receiving payments from their client.
You'd think that after all these years they would have learned to set aside a reserve for payroll.
I just did pizza shop with them last week. I am not doing too many shops with them. Total about 10 since 2017.

Shopping Eastern Pennsylvania since 2009
Discover and Synchrony banks both offer around 4% interest on savings (has been higher over the past 2 years). So if I can gain that interest monthly, so could "crappy" HS Brands ! Yes Yes, we agreed to their 60 day payment BS ! But why does it take sooooooooooo long in a digital age that we live in ?????? Even for the reimbursement shoppers on here, your American Express bill is monthly. So, you are paying your bill from another source, some times twice till they pay you ! I do not have another job, to wait so long to get your payment is a bad investment ! Say what you will about Ipsos...My time and investment is returned, usually within 2 weeks ! Then I can take that cash and do more work. I deactivated my account. I did 10 gas stations and waited 64 days to get paid $270 ! Plus, they whine ( the scheduling company) about asking for extra time to complete them (weather was an issue).
Excellent example : the other knuckleheads around me (Delaware and Maryland) left shops go. I grabbed 3 at $30 each and 8 at $50 = $490 + 33 reimbursement. I will do them all by this Thursday. I will be paid by next Thursday 24th or by Monday the 28th. Great investment of my time. Thank you Ipsos !
