Market Force - Reimbursement for parking and tolls

It’s been a while, but recently took a shop with MF. I know the old location on where to upload receipts for parking and tolls…. I can’t find it. Is parking and tolls no longer reimbursed for MF? If so, when did this happen?

Very infrequently shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado these days.

If I recall they stopped reimbursement for parking or tolls about a year ago. But I'm sure some NJ/NYC shoppers could be more accurate withe the timeframe.

Yikes. That’s a huge turnoff knowing this now.

Even out here in Denver, getting to certain locations is ridiculous without taking the toll, and impossible to get parking free or validated in downtown.

Can't fix the time exactly but I left the NYC area two years ago and they had already stopped reimbursing by then. That ended my visits to a few of their "Quintet of Gentlemen" burger shops in the Bronx and Westchester that I had been doing.

About 2 years ago. They weren't exactly forthcoming about it either. They never told us, it just disappeared. After I noticed I emailed them asking what happened and got a vert tart return message basically saying "We aren't doing that anymore, go away."
Yup, ended my more frequent trips down the Garden State Parkway for shops. I'll only pick some up if I'm heading that way for some other reason..ie, beach day, other high paying shops, friend's visit. And forget about me ever going to NYC with the price of bridge/tunnel tolls.

FYI, from Helpdesk this morning:

“ Good day,

As of May 16, 2023, MarketForce no longer provides reimbursements for expenses such as bus fare, bridge tolls, parking, ferry rides, etc.

As an Independent Contractor, expenses necessary to complete a shop reside with the Independent Contractor.

As always, you may accept or decline any shop offered to you.

Thank you,

I don’t think it’s a bad or good thing. Just adds a factor on the Mystery Shopper when thinking about accepting a shop going forward (i.e. if there is a high likelihood that you’ll be spending $5-10 in parking and tolls to reasonably take the shop on, factor it in on your total fee).

That timeframe sounds accurate. I believe it was posted an announcement beforehand. I got some tolls accepted after then. When it was available, the MSC was generous with the distance, duration, and amount.
Where on earth have you been?

Yes, I’m in Denver too and it’s tough getting reimbursements. I was lucky enough to get a MSC to reimburse me for parking in Cherry Creek recently.

Made some dramatic career shifts back in 2022-2023 (oil & gas -> environmental -> transmission & distribution). It was to the point where I basically dropped mystery shopping altogether because I completely remove any dependencies on extra income / reducing my expenses at this point in my life!

Now I’m sorta back where I picked up a shop here and there just because I refuse to spend $20 on Five Guys when I can cover it myself haha. Sorely wish the BonVoy Titanium Elite program was more widespread tho because I just need another year or two to lock in lifetime with them!
