RQA garbage disposal labeling project

I've got 8 Walmarts that are scattered about and 6 HD stores that aren't far, but I'm doing hourly for all of them. Ill be busy all week.

My HD wasn't too bad, actually! The managers were polite and responsive. The job is a bit dirty and I was halfway through when I realized that the GB boxes look almost identical on the front and back and they were shelved in a mix of front and rear-facing. There were only 25 total and they'd provided two sheets of stickers so I flipped them all and stickered both sides. It seemed reasonable enough. 2.25 hours total with 1 of that being transports to/from.
I emailed RQA before I went to my 1st store and asked if they wanted both sides labeled. They said no, just the front.

And yeah it was dirty and dusty. I did 2 HD today. I preferred Walmart. My 1st store sucked as the employees were not helpful at all. When I asked for help with top stock they told me to use a ladder. When I explained I was instructed not to do so, they seemed a little hostile and made me wait. That store had 63 total. The 2nd store had 54. One of my stores has 87. Not looking forward to that.

I bailed on these afrer i thought about it. Each of my stores had 100 plus in inventory and i visited one while the job was still on hold. Only 40 were on the floor, a few overhead, lord knows where the rest were. I took a bonused job instead that paid as much with a fraction of the work. The Walmart jobs were easy and i love RQA but this one was not for me.
Yeah, RQA called me Monday before I'd started the HD stores and asked if I'd like to visit a warehouse to label products and I said yes. I emailed them after I made my HD store visits and retracted.

They sent a notification this morning that more locations were available. They've apparently expanded the range to 60 miles for these. I'm not at all surprised by some of the locations that haven't been claimed yet but two of the three I picked definitely seemed like they should have been taken by a rep in another city already.
I have never had an issue with Walmart or their employees when doing any kind of work. And with the TC-52's, they can tell exactly where the stock is in the warehouse. The warehouses have never been a problem except in the old days when they had the D3 store format. That overhaul changed them. But, try finding something in a Kroger warehouse. No system, filthy, crowded and stinky.

The Home Depot has changed quite a bit since COVID. All those expert associates with tons of skill patches hooked to their aprons does not matter anymore. They are not as helpful and approachable as in the past. Even the sodas in the coolers at the registers are not within the date for consumption.

This made me chuckle. Both hubby and son work at the HD and my husband probably has about 30 of those patches. He doesn't wear them though. However, I will say that he is probably one of the most requested associates in the store because he is also probably one of the few people that actually help customers. Everyone else runs and hides. My son works night shift so he sees nobody - just the way he likes it.

The handhelds help a lot with locating overhead but going to the back to find something is still a mess.
@Datagirl - That is true. There is always one who is still great at the job, but all are waiting for them.
I had two visits to.big orange and glad that's it. Big PITA, and I'm not good at crawling around on the floor anymore. Shoulda brought the kneepads I used to take with me on my visit for Foster Grant pre-COVID.

Experienced your yin/yang on recent big blue visits. Thankfully, RQA changed them to per location before I even started, and I'll finish my second batch tomorrow.

The reason I didn't wrap them up yesterday is I hit a location with 45 units, all out on the floor! In addition to 2 pcs in the expected location, when I made the turn to head for that aisle I was confronted by an endcap full of them. Luckily 16 were already stickered, and I was able to get out in just under an hour.

Next two stop had 0 units, so go figure...

Definitely taking the authoritative approach, simply informing customer service I'll be heading for hardware and asking them to send a coach or team lead over to sign me off. They either let me go or point out an authority figure if one is in the area.

Biggest issues I'm experiencing are the crappy camera in their lates app update, and the implementation of spell check for the name fields. I've complained about the former and will be doing so for the latter now that I'm in the double digits for disposal visits. Big PITA...
