MF January 2025 Payment

Has anyone received payment for January 2025 shops from Market Force? I have not.

1/29 was my only shop for them and not paid yet

Not yet, no, they're definitely late this month.

From their website -- "All payments will be disbursed no later than the 20th BUSINESS day of the following month for all “valid” reports."

They usually pay us on the 20th, but when you consider the month started on a weekend and we had a holiday as well, getting paid this week would still be within their terms and conditions. (Taking away the holiday, the 20th business day would end up being this Friday, but I suspect we'll have the payments tomorrow or Wednesday.)

I just noticed that the January shops in my log have “disappeared” which usually means that they are being processed.
RBG is also late this month. Probably for the same reasons.

I was paid last week from RBG for January shops.

Nope, nothing yet! I did alot for them last month too.

I also was paid last week for RBG shops. Still waiting for MFI.

I think they recently updated the language to say payment will be on the 20th Business Day. Since, like many, I went to see if payment had been issued and noticed the new language. Super awesome how they let people know this...! #Geesh

This 20th business day stuff is crazy. I guess they thought we wouldn’t notice the change..we’re mystery shoppers of course we notice details duh

Actually there was a bank holiday so they could use that and not pay until Monday. I’m pretty much done with MF

There are not even 20 business days in February due to short month and Presidents Day holiday.

Good Point. 19 Business Days in February.

Super fun way for MF to wiggle out of paying anyone. Good Grief. I'm done with them as well.

@mfisherri. Hi Sherri - any input on why payment terms where changed without proper notification? Or why February hasn't been paid (assuming it will be paid at all, since there are not 20 Business Days in February)?

I'm not Sherri, and MF doesn't owe me any money. But for as long as I've been with MF they have paid on or around the 20th of every month. And that hasn't changed.

But it is kind of concerning that Sherri hasn't popped in here to answer your questions yet.

Yes, it was always the 20th. But they've suddenly changed the wording on their website to say its the 20th Business Day. And this month they just haven't bothered to pay at all (or communicate the change, or communicate when they will pay). Probably not a coincidence they changed the language in a month where there aren't 20 Business Days. Their cashflow problems have. been evident for a while.

Hey guys...We're currently working with accounting to get a firm update, but I expect in the next couple of days and absolutely no later than Monday.

For clarity, the 20th business day of the month change was made back in 2023 when someone decided gift cards might be a good idea for payment...That language has stuck through the most recent ICA update and while most everyone is right, we do try to pay by the 20th of each month, there are unfortunately times when we do need the full 20 business days to get everything in order.

Hang in there with us, payments will be along shortly.

I have been with MF for many years. I used to have direct deposit in my account by the 12th every month like clockwork. Then, they did an "update" on their payment process and we have been paid on the 20th or shortly after each month. I expect that this change of pay date is going to be permanent going forward. I hope I am wrong.

I just received an email from Market Force:
“ We are reaching out to notify you that we are aware that you are awaiting a payment from Market Force for an assignment that you completed in January. You can expect to receive your payment as early as Monday. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding in this frustrating matter. Thank you for being a valued shopper with us, we appreciate you!”

"...as early as Monday..." That tells me it probably will not be Monday!

A good question is....who is not taking shops until they see payment come thru? I guess I am still willing to do a couple more before I might re-think it, but they have been good all these years. If they start to go the way of some shady MSCs, then I might stop, but for now I guess I will "trust" them for a few more shops.

If people "slow down" on taking their shops, then shop fees should rise (bonused more). I don't see it happening just quite yet.

The thing that bugs me most about this business (well one of the things) is when MSCs that pay reliably every month suddenly don't. It's always some excuse and a general apology but it gets worrisome.

I only had 1 shop in January. It was one of those dang pizza shops. I feel for those who are expecting quite a large direct deposit. I would be p!$$'d if I was waiting for more than a $37 DD.
