I get notices for the carpet cleaning shops every now and then. I don't have carpets, all of my rugs are washable, some in a washing machine, some hanging on a wire outside.. So carpet cleaning isn't a thing for me, no matter how much it pays.
Bad experience, the scheduler assigned me one of these shops. I never applied for it but did a couple in the past. But I moved and have no carpets.

Just an FYI. I like the MSC and they removed the shop.

So it appears they really need shoppers. And the company did an excellent job on my carpets. Just like new.
Funny coincidence with the one I did - the cleaner/owner saw my son's photos on the wall with his graduation year, and it turned out that my son graduated with his daughter, he and my mom used to work together, and his wife was my sister's boss when she was in high school, so obviously I could never do that shop again since he would remember me. I did keep hiring him on my own, though. Small world.

I did one many many years ago and when the guy was leaving, he accused me of being the mystery shopper and said some not-nice things. It all went in the report but I won't do one again. (I don't remember what he said, just that I felt awful afterwards.)
I would do one - kids + pets = carpets that can use a cleaning. I have a steam cleaner so I do it a few times a year but I wouldn't mind seeing the results a pro can get.
I am just outside the requested area. I submitted my zip code to the scheduler way back and never heard back.
