So what's everyone's experience with them?
I did a shop in Denver in August. It went well. No follow up, except to say that some of my pictures were vertical, and they needed to be horizontal. Reimbursed by hotel in two weeks. Paid in two weeks. Thought it was the best company ever.
Second shop in October in California. The shop went fine. I was paid in two weeks and reimbursed in two weeks. However, just before check out, I was sent an email that the report should have been mostly submitted at this point. It did say to complete as you went, but the due date was (can't remember exactly) but like 24 hours after check out. I submitted everything "on time" per the written guidelines. I had some follow up questions (that were an absolute mess, because they did not even make sense per what I had reported. Names and times were not accurate in the questions.) I responded immediately. Now I can tell I am blocked on both gig spot and the true guest website. I'm not even going to follow up, because I was paid in a timely fashion. But what a wild ride? I have never been scolded before check out for not having my reports in, especially when the guidelines say it is not due yet?

Here's Steve's post from 2019:

Well to be fair...you also said above that you worked so much you were not able to enjoy yourself. That's basically what Roldan asks of evaluators, so if that constitutes a "great" experience then you are a good fit for this MSC.

If you make an attempt to enjoy yourself at the hotel and write/submit the report within the stated guidelines after leaving, you will get a lot of pushback, and that is the basis of the majority of complaints with Roldan.

I refuse to work with him as well. I think that the feeling is mutual. I did a phone shop for him. 24 hours TAT. I think that he wanted it instantly.

I don't need the money or the hassle. The only person that I have personally met that works for him (Roldan) needs the money and a shower. He got banned from a bunch of projects, but apparently, he works quickly. LOL
I never signed up with this MSC, but was meaning to look into it down the road. Thanks for sharing. Darn, is this yet another MSC to avoid?!
It works for some people. Now for me. I don't need someone checking in on me while I am at the hotel to make sure I am getting my work done.

Treat me like a professional. Give me a deadline and then contact me if I don't hit it.

That's the PG-13 version of the story my dear. winking smiley
I will never do one for that MSC again. One and done forever. If you're going to batter me in any way, your fee needs to be A LOT higher than what they pay. I get paid to do the wild thing.
Bad Company. Roldan is the worst. I have done at least a hundred hotel or resort stays in the last 30 years...and a lot of them were higher hend properties. I did one hotel stay for True Guest five or sx years backO thought it was a good report and it was submitted on time and completely. Roldan treated me rudely and criticized the report unfairly. Never again...10 foot pole list!

I'm seeing links to my old posts recently and realizing I was more verbose/profane in the past! Marriage has mellowed me, apparently. Or old age. Like a fine wine?

Ah, yes, the horizontal issue. It's got to be an OCD thing. He wants even the hotel folio to be horizontal. Well to take a horizontal picture of an 8x5 vertical receipt you have to hold the camera a pretty far distance above the receipt. Then he'll complain he can't read the receipt................
