RQA - Payments

I have an issue ... just kidding! For RQA, I recently got signed up and did some of the assignments for the frozen dinner back around three weeks ago. I submitted the expense reports shortly after. I thought I had to enter some payment information somewhere and haven't been proactive about it.

I was looking through the mail from the week. Amazingly, I received a paper check from RQA that was dated two weeks after my expenses got submitted. Looking at the postmark, it was sent earlier this week. It was a nice surprise. Thank you RQA and those who posted about it!

Edited to add: Oh yeah, they also paid for a closed location, too.

RQA Slightly off topic: This thread is the first time I have heard of a company called RQA. I looked them up online and read the contractor agreement form. Does this company really advance money to shoppers' to purchase necessary items? And do shoppers' routinely return unused funds back to the company? I have been a mysyery shopper for over 20 years, and I have never come across a company who does this.
I'll let the RQA experts answer. But I think the company handles product retrievals and recalls, where that could be a possibility for a project.
Dandy, to set the stage, RQA is not an MSC. They do product recalls. Some of their projects involve buying large quantities of recalled items. For example, some of us spent 5K+ buying a recalled chip item last year. So they will advance you money to buy those items. Its rare that you'd have money left over, but if you do, they just deduct it from what they owe you. If you have spent all of the advance and need more, they'll advance you more, or do any immediate reimbursement for what you've spent out of pocket. They are super well organized and will Direct Deposit the advances on the same day.

I love working with them as they answer emails, answer the phone, have an app that works and they pay quickly!
If you send them your bank info, they will Direct Deposit payment to you instead of mailing a check. They used to do checks only, but added DD a few months ago. Speeds up payment by a couple weeks.

Thanks for the information @Cassiespark. I submitted an application and should hear back within 5 days.
I was assigned up for a project in June and received a fairly large check, I ended up in the hospital before I got to do them and the told me just to put the check back in then mail to them.

Mostly works. I seem to get the 'gray screen of death' fairly often, which means I have to delete and redownload the app. I've learned to do that before I leave home.

That chip recall was a huge one and yes, they did advance quite a bit per store. However, I spent way way more than the advance. I sent an email with the credit card receipts and they reimbursed me the next day for the overage of what I spent. The pay came shortly after. I have never had to give anything back as of yet.
I opened a trouble ticket with them about this very same issue last year. If you email d.nichols@rqa-inc.com a screenshot and explanation of what you are seeing, he might be able to get it resolved. Took me a couple weeks of back and forth and I don't know what he ultimately did on his end to fix it, but he did.

nslowry, did you ever hear from RQA? I submitted an application on 11/10/2024 and still have not heard back.
You may want to call them. They are VERY nice but they are haphazard in responding to emails or tickets.
They can get slammed by some projects (the death chips especially), but everything about this company has been first rate in my experience.

I did a one-off project involving several visits to a refrigerated warehouse to relabel boxes of sausage. The compensation exceeded my submitted expense form, and they paid it via direct deposit within a couple of days.

The only tricky part is choosing the most lucrative compensation method. I usually go with the per location fee, but more recent jobs have been sparser and with distance involved, so the hourly thing was better in the long run.
