Re: HS Brands pizza shop reimbursement increase

Whoa....they actually got the reimbursement increased enough to cover the cost the client charges us.....O_O

haha, I would do these shops more often but I hate the required photos - the display area isn't too difficult but I used to shop the one in my local mall and hated the register pic.
i did this shop once and once only. Even taking the display photo was difficult as there was a never ending line in front. I snapped a photo between people to "ask my daughter which Item she wanted" and was immediately gruffly told by the staff that they would call security to escort me out of the mall if I ever did that again or did not leave immediately. The pay/reimb is not the reason I do not do it.
I can't believe people get excited for this shop. Like @sandyf, i did this shop 1x and won't do it again. The pictures and report length and narrative required were beyond what I felt was fair for mediocre pizza at best. I can go to costco for $2 and get just as good of a pizza and not be hassled with the other nonsense.

But for those that enjoy these shops...yes, I am happy that your reimbursement was increased to cover the cost of the required purchase.
In my area, this is one of the few shops that do not fly off the boards as soon as they hit. By the end of the month they are begging and begging for shoppers and have already doubled the pay....Double pay however is still way too little. Sounds exciting until you figure out double of way too little is still too little.
Well doubled pay and FULL reimbursement, I MIGHT do a third shop if I'm nearby and hungry.

I may actually try one out and see the workload of it.....if it's ok enough I may add it to some of my future routine....for a free lunch when I ssing.

There's many shops that simply not worth it by itself, but it is in the middle of an already planned route and offer an opportunity of some free food, it isn't a bad choice.

Not sure you will think this is worth it. It has been more than 10 years since I have done it, but it scarred (left a mark, not fear) me so much I never considered it again. The report was longer than I felt it needed to be. Too many explanations required. I would rather pay $2 for a costco slice and not be bothered.

Plus the MSC is one of the slowest paying out there. I don't need to be reimbursed/paid that quickly, but the fact they purposefully pay so much slower is just another irritant that I don't want to bother.
To each their own. I don't mind them as I am out pretty much all day every day anyway. The report itself isn't that bad. Maybe 15 min.
I hated this one and will never do it again. I got my shop back twice because I didn't put enough detail. I am the most detailed person ever and always have paragraphs about my experience! There's only so much you can detail about an employee not wearing a name tag. This question might be gone now since it's been several years since my one and only shop but I answered no on the yes/no question and wrote a one sentence "Neither employee was wearing a name tag on their shirt or visor." And got it back looking for more info on the "no" question!

What else do you want, it's yes no and I answered it twice! Why would you need more detail???

It took almost 3 months to get paid. Ugh. Just writing about this experience brings back annoyance!
Their offer always say "let us pay for your meal" but one measly slice of pizza is not a meal.
A friend and I have both done pizza shops for HS. He did his first one a few weeks before I did mine. They are supposed to pay 35-60 days later, and it's been over 60 days for him without any payment. He asked them about this and they responded with a chart showing various date ranged and when you will get a payout for shops done at that time. It's more like 75-80 days in some cases. At least we know, but they need to remove the misleading "All payments will be made between 35-60 days from the date the shop is finalized" wording from their login page.

"Finalized" is the important word there. AKA..the client has to accept it.

Here to report back my experiece.

Did the shop on Sat, took about 20 minutes to do the report, there's 4 area that required "detail comments" and I wrote 2-3 sentence on most of them except the main experience. Apparently I wrote too much and they capped the box at 500 characters, I have to shrink down my paragraphs a few times.

Fast forward to Tuesdays (2 1/2 days after) I just got the evaluation result.

"Comments: Thank you for your report.

Please remember to read over comments, correcting errors and use spell check.

"racha" was listed as an upsell but unclear what this is?

Please remmeber to include a more detailed description of food and drink, the food display, the marketing materials, etc.

It was written there four different pizza choices but only three were listed: "5. What types of pizza slices were displayed in the pizza display case?"

Please remember to write the answers in Summary in complete sentences.

Thanks for using HS Brands International's Sherlock system!"

Granted my grammar is not the best as a ELS speaker, and sometimes I am too lazy to proof read my own writing, but at least they have accepted the report. If this is consistence I don't mind doing more of them....as long as they are within my route for 2 slices of pizzas a bit extra income, but no. I would never do these shops alone
@kisekinecro

Seems that you did not find it too bad. I can do a Chinese fast food shop in under 10 minutes and that includes the visit. Online or Drive-thru shops. Pays reasonable and I think it's better food than what this pizza client is and less detail required. But I get that having that Chinese fast food all the time would get old and need some variety. I just had such a poor experience the one time I did it, I never wanted to do it again and the food isn't that spectacular to make me want to try again.

Chinese Panda is one of my bread and butter shops, I actually just did 12 of them on Sunday. It is definitely easier and pay slightly more per say but you only get panda once every 3 weeks, and I do go out for SS more than just once a month, so having free pizza for not too crazy survey sneak into a day with route for other things isn't too bad, considering I will have to eat out anyway when I work my whole days on shopping, the in and out isn't just 5 bucks, but 5+ whatever money I am saving from buying food+ drink and the free pizza+soda.
If I was a route shopper (which i'm not) i would rather work a costco (or sam's club) into my route and pay $2 and eat the costco pizza than to eat this brands pizza, fill out a survey and wait 3 months for the small amount of pay/reimburse.

Did you mean Sriracha?!

I used to love this pizza when I was a kid/teen and would go on a trip to the mall, but as an adult...I don't find it that appetizing. Paying $2 out of pocket for something that tastes better and no report is worth it.

Finding parking at Costco sucks tho, especially if you are in crowded states

Amen. Did one, the "discreet" photo requirements are absurd given the layout and placement of these mall kiosks. For five bucks and a partial reimbursement (or I guess full reimbursement now). Hard pass from now on.
