Coyle valet tip increase

Good news for folks who do Coyle's valet parking shops: For the client with many locations the tip reimbursement has been increased to $5. I sure hated tipping $2 "while visiting a guest" at a $600/night hotel. (I'm not sure about some of the smaller valet services that also use Coyle.)

Also, although this was instituted last month and is clearly spelled out in the guidelines, I had one editor who was unaware of it and tried to lower my reimbursement to $2. I e-mailed support and they took care of it right away. All of the other editors have approved the correct reimbursement.

I believe I know the client you're referring to, but it's been a while since I've applied for that client. Unless I'm staying with someone downtown.

In my area, there's a different valet client that offers an additional $20 reimbursement to use at any on-site restaurant. A good number are in the same office campus where I work, right next to me. I've been doing a lot more of these lately. Also, they've always allowed for up to a $5 tip. However, they only work off cash tips.

Also, I think they updated the hotel overnight stay tipping guideline amounts. I think the housekeeping services was lower, and I always thought that didn't make sense because of the staging requirements they have to clean up after. But I think it did increase which I'm happy about. But I wish they would allow for a larger tip for the bellman versus the valet. I feel like the bellman on departure day is the most helpful, and is the point-man in coordinating and facilitating valet and checkout, while taking care of the luggage cart.

Since we're not mentioning clients I think we can say those are Servimer shops. Even though they never pay as much as I can get the Coyle shops for, I also like the F/B allowance. One of their hotel clients near me has a really great but expensive sandwich/coffee shop that I would never otherwise patronize.

Since my better half can't pack light and then goes shopping while I'm writing reports we always have so much luggage that the bellman gets the maximum tip. Although it's still lower than the valet tip, I also often take the car in and out a few times during the shop, so the $10 valet in and $10 valet out tips are covering those as well.
I've never known Serimer to bonus any of the shops an hour frim me but still ask me to do them for $15.
I believe this client is local and only available in my area. It's shopped through Coyle. It's a unique shop, where it offers pay in addition to on-dining reimbursement. The client is usually contracted through restaurants.

For all of the valet shops with Coyle, I've done at higher rate than the starting rate or went with the increased rates over time. But lately, a good number of the valet shops in my area have been going off the board quickly after getting posted. For other valet shops in my area, it's a little odd where it's shopped by numerous and various MSCs.

I've been meaning to sign up with Servimer, but never got to it. I may make a list and start signing up with recommended MSCs.

For me, it's the opposite. My girlfriend is very good about packing light and travels regularly for work, and I've gotten pretty good at it now. We use backpacks too. When we request bell service, it does come off as a little odd.
I am so glad to hear of the valet tip increase! I have done over 100 valet shops for Coyle in the last three years, and that $2 tip was so annoying at these luxury hotels. My husband even occasionally would give the valet attendant $5 if he was very good and my husband would just pay for the overage, because he thought it was so disrespectful to give a fantastic valet attendant only $2.

Also, @Okie, I have had the SAME experience where "lately, a good number of the valet shops in my area have been going off the board quickly after getting posted." Each month, my area usually has 20-30 valet shops, and since 2021, they have always been on the board throughout the month, slowly getting taken. I could almost always still find some available by mid-month. But for the last three months or so, the valet shops are all gone by the beginning of that month. At first, I thought that maybe they lost the client. But then I saw them show up again but only briefly on the board. I wonder if maybe Coyle got some new shoppers in my area that like doing valet shops or something. Even though they post for only $20, I have always been able to bid $30-35 and get them assigned, and it can be a pretty awesome deal if I need parking in the downtown area anyway (I often combine them with a restaurant shop for another company). So now I have to be sure to plan more in advance if I want them. Last night, I went downtown for dinner and a show and I had forgotten to get the valet parking at the beginning of the month, so we had to pay for a parking garage for the first time in years.
Wow, a lot of valet shops in your area! In my area, sometimes the valet shops for the next one to two months get posted early. Sometimes, it's hard to say if it's getting assigned early. The shops can sometimes make an appearance, disappear, and then reappear over a course of weeks - where some shops may have gotten assigned. With some of these places, it can actually be useful when the parking lot/garage gets full.

With Coyle, the only thing bringing down my score has been timeliness and haven't paid attention to cumulative score until recently. These valet shops have been helping though, in that regard.
Okie, I don't have Coyle valet shops near me.

I do have servimer valet shops near me. They refused to bonus three shops 60 miles from me to make it worth the drive. "We never offer bonuses" was what I was told when i asked for an additional $5 per shop.
Hi wrosie! Thanks for taking a look at Servimer's shops. We've raised our rates several times over the past few years, and our base pay across the US and Canada now ranges from $21 to $31 (we tie our base pay proportionately to military sevicemembers' housing and subsistence allowances prescribed for the local area). If you see anything posted for less than $21, could you please let me know so that we can fix it?
It's true that we almost never bonus. We'd rather not lowball early-on in the month, and instead we try to pay the most that we can from the start of the month through the end.
However, end-of-month flakes still happen, so every now and then we'll provide some financial expressions of appreciation for help in getting those surprise crises completed. Feel free to keep asking, and please keep us in mind when you're already planning to be where our shops are. Hope to work with you soon!
