Premier Service - Shoppers beware

Be very careful when mystery shopping this company. I did a VERY high end mystery shop for this company. I submitted the shop on time and followed the guidelines. The sales person NEVER followed up and I put in detailed accounts of the shop. An editor reached out of further clarification and I added more detail. This was in June. I realized I never received payment. When I called I inquired why. I was told that I needed to say I was buy in a car for myself. I told the sales person that I was buying the car as my husband was turning 50 and we were ready to get rid of the family car. They DQ the shop as it wasn't for exclusively for myself. WHAT?!! This was a $150 dollars shop. I deleted my account with them. I wanted to let other mystery shoppers to be warned how unscrupulous this company is.

Sorry you had that experience. Seems like a lame excuse to DQ your shop, but I don't know the guidelines for it either. I guess the ONLY highlight would be that this was a sales shop, so you only lost time (a good amount I suspect) and you didn't outlay any $ to do the shop (buying something and not being reimbursed).

I can't really say I have heard of this company. So I cannot comment one way or the other. Maybe this is on the Terminator's list too? @shopperbob what are your stories with this company?
I favor Canadian MSCs for both personal and business reasons.

I accessed this thread due to Premier Service being a Canadian company; my log shows 2 shops completed back in the teens. I do recall them extending me the courtesy of assistance with the Shopmetrics platform, which, at that time, was buggy for me. I would not hesitate to apply for work IF the remuneration were acceptable. If, though, the experience turned negative, I would follow the example of the OP and punt.
I'm sorry you had that happen.

I haven't done that shop so I'm only guessing by
some guidelines that I have read.

It's important to say the product is just for you so they believe they can make the sale during that transaction. Saying it's for someone else leaves the possibility that you will consult with them.

I have seen this sort of guideline on other shops for example, mattress.

Again, I don't know how your guidelines were presented.
If you didn't state you were buying it for yourself then I can see why it wasn't accepted. Sounds like you can't say you are buying it due to your husband turning 50. That almost sounds like it is a present for him.
There was a forum member who knew A LOT about dealerships and I can't remember who it was.

Anyway, I have a feeling that as soon as a potential buyer gives any hint of not buying that day (just looking/ researching/ for a family member) the salesperson is likely to shut them down, cut their losses and move on to the next target. In other words, the perceived non-buyer is not going to be treated as a potential sale at the moment and will not be treated the same as one who will produce a commission.
I have done multiples of this car dealership and have had no issues with the company. They don't have many shops. They were easy to work with and one of my favorite companies.
If the guidelines clearly required the shopper to say the vehicle for the shopper and the OP said the car was for the family and the OP's husband's birthday, then the OP did not follow the guidelines and should not be paid.
