Field Agent now requiring reason for canceling

You used to be able to cancel at any time within the time window (usually 4 hours) without explanation or penalty. Now I notice that when you cancel a job, you get a popup menu asking for the reason you're canceling.

Considering how dirt-low the pay is on FA, one of the saving graces of this app used to be the "no fault" cancellation policy. I wonder if this new "tell us why" requirement is a prelude to some sort of penalty.

I think they just want to know what causes cancellations. There is already a penalty of sorts. Once you've claimed the same job twice and not completed it you can't see it any more.
Will be interesting to see the outcome when one uses this feature.

I appreciate it when such a feature is implemented smartly.

Unfortunately the one I need to use most often is not well-deployed.

You'd think an MSC administering car wash programs would allow one to cancel a shop due to inclement weather.

Nope... just about everything but.

Have synthesizers, will travel...
Field Agent can go jump in a lake. I need to delete that app from my phone.

Offering $3 and $4 total to take 10-20 pics is a joke. I remember the good old days when they used to pay $5 and $6 LOL and you didn't have to take as many pics. They've been one of the worst paying and they keep doing their best to go lower. I recently saw a job listed that is paying $5 and when I did it two years ago I got $12 for it.

They might have an occasional nugget - $10 for 1 picture, but that is so rare. All I see when I bother to look is the $3 or $4 as mentioned before. Of course who can pass up the opportunity to make nothing to do one of their just for funs or my favorite their ticket jobs so you can go in a "drawing" - yeah, sure.

It doesn't look like they made any headway into mystery shopping computers at retailers where they told you what to ask. Similar to what another MSC has, but of course FA offered half the rate of the other MSC.
The pictures "Selfagrams' are annoying, but i do enjoy the occasional pizza and fried chicken shops.
I won't knock FA. The app is not for users who want to go out and do a single job for $3 or $4. That would not be cost-effective. This is for people who are already in a store, or out on a route and can duck in, etc. I'm not doing too much with the app this year, so I've only made $146. Last year I made over $2,000. This was using the app in a manner to double, triple and quadruple up on jobs in the same store or close by. I've been very good at finding the Eye Spy items and there are tricks to make those go a little easier. I've also done several Ratings & Reviews through buying items in a store, and also having products shipped to my home.

As for the OP's point, I wondered the same thing: Whether the penalty on the points will be coming back. If I had to guess, that is something they are considering. I also think @Sshhhopper is also onto something. Maybe they have seen an increase in cancellation which is impacting their bottom line. They need to figure out what is behind it. It could be something in the directions is confusing people.

I keep the app on my phone for when I'm in a store already, I can make a few extra bucks if I have the time.

There is the truth.
Then there is the right thing to say.

I agree! I do wish they would do a better job of weeding out the impossible eye spys though. For at least 6 months, every week they reload dozens of items that are made to order/counter serve type items that don't have UPCs, such as convenience store pizza. I wish they had a reporting mechanism for those kinds of shops. At least you can swipe on them to hide them-hint, hint Presto!

I feel like there have been a decreasing number of jobs over the past month. Also, fees have been dropping on some shops. There is a weekly shop that started at $10, then dropped to $6 for a few weeks, and this week popped up at $5.

Oddly, I've noticed more jobs here as of late. Hyper-local ones, not just ones within my set radius.

I agree they need to integrate a way to report eye spy for those MTO items. There is a UPC is normally existing, but it in a sheet behind the counter that gets scanned. There was an Eye Spy for what I figured out was the cup of vanilla soft serve from the Sam's Club café. I knew my Sam's Club keeps their scan sheet on the counter by the customer. I went through the line, ordered said cup of vanilla (why not?), and when the girl turned to get the ice cream, I turned the scan sheet around to snap the photo of the UPC code. Unfortunately, the UPC code did not match. I presume this is because the code varies depending on what vanilla base mixture each store gets. Rather than one set brand for all stores, each store must get whatever the nearest supplier has. The ice cream was good though. grinning smiley

I have picked up a few of these this year and have managed to accumulate $500 in earnings! I haven't been cashing out because this is my "extra" mystery shop stash. I may be addicted.
