Ipsos items!

First, it appears IPSOS changed their 'search' SOP from the newly implemented selection of 50 shops at a time, back to the old method of listing all shops in your specified search area. Yay!
Second, the new gas station audits are posted, with the DARKNESS ONLY specification....for me, that means the period between 10 PM and 4:30 AM, which is, well, kinda late (or very early!), you know?

Not only have they restored the search functions, they actually improved them!

I choose to view by vendor, and now the shops are listed by distance from my search ZIP. Previously they would be displayed in no particular order.

I just booked another 22 Famous Highways, with a fair chunk of them after dark. Looks like most are 24/7 operations, so I'll hit my hotel late afternoon and grab a nap, then work most of the night. Similar plan for day 2.

I saw that the search went back to normal, and I'm very ok with that. If it keeps them in distance order on top of the other parameters, that's even better. But I didn't notice.

I'll go try it again as soon as my AC machine dries out and starts cooling again (my son "cleaned" it). I may or may not have a back up unit coming, but I think I bought it from a sketchy dealer and I'm going to have to rely on PayPal or my bank to have my back in a few weeks if it doesn't show up. I may just buy one at full price locally if drying it out doesn't get it working again today.
Cool, the AC compressor turned back on afterwhile.. I think he mighta got a connection wet, the PCB never faltered. The barrel fan is almost completely cleaned out and it's cool in my room again. I'm going to spend my back up AC money on a Blackstone so we can cook outside instead of in the kitchen easier.

I got one of the Cuisinart countertop convection oven/air fryer thingies. Best kitchen gadget ever. It doesn't heat the house up like the regular oven does. The thing cooks on turbo, though....cookies were literally done in 3 minutes.

Doggie, I fell into the air fryer thing during the shutdown. Thankfully I got it after Thanksgiving and I was able to return it after my electricity bill almost doubled from using it, before January 31. I won't make that mistake again.

I have cooked outside on a gas grill during the summer for years and years, I can cook and bake almost anything. This AC unit can handle a little bit of cooking in the house (it's a VERY good AC unit for a simple window AC), but only quick stuff on the stove top, like toasting a sandwich or or cooking an egg. The oven isn't likely to be turned on again, i bought this stove right after I bought the house, each of the last 4 years just when I REALLY want to bake something, the oven PCB loses it's marbles and the oven won't go over 300 degrees F. It did it again this year too, it's time to buy a different stove (In November).
Morl, when I factor in what the mini-oven uses electricity-wise versus what the upstairs a/c would use when it's 500 degrees up there and I feel like I'm broiling, well....no contest. Mini-oven wins by a mile.

I think the next thing I'll invest in is a beverage fridge for upstairs.

I use my air fryer all the time. Never noticed any difference in my electric bill. We keep a mini fridge in our walk in closet with soda/ drinks.

I keep my air conditioning set on 72 on the main level & 70 upstairs and my bill is about $200/ month (4k sq ft house)
I'm kinda weird about electricity use. My monthly bill, with only this AC unit, electric water heater, lights, computers, 3 chest freezers, the refrigerator, and the heat plate in the chicken brooder runs just around $100 per month.

With the old AC unit, a Whynter portable AC unit with dual hoses to expel the heat out the window, it was running about $140, and the first few summers the electricity bills were closer to $200 with the old LG portable AC that we used in the motorhome on the way here. I had that air fryer for less than 60 days and both months that I used it my electricity bills doubled. I was happy to make that go away.

And I'm a really good cook, I don't need or like most shortcuts (I percolated my coffee on the stove for nearly 20 years). Whatever it is, I'll cook it right, from scratch, and without 100 ingredients. Most times longer cooking time = better flavor.
Sal, sorry I highjacked your thread. I didn't mean to. I like using the new version of the Sassie search now, it's so very much easier to use.
You apologized to the wrong person. This is MY thread... :-D
