Ipsos' most recent newsletter

I'm assuming everybody saw this in the email that came out a few days ago:

"New feature! A 24 hour "cool down period" is being added to Sassie. This means if a mystery shop falls off your Sassie account, you will have to wait 24 hours to reclaim it."

"New feature! Starting next week, all mystery shops will fall off your Sassie account automatically at midnight on the due date, even if the survey is in progress. All Sassie shops must be submitted by midnight on the day they are due."

I love how they say "New feature!" like it's a positive upgrade.

Thanks for sharing, good to know. I don't read the emails and communications, and would have been wondering what was going on.
An ACTUAL new feature would be additing, "Eastern time" to the midnight deadline descriptions on all shops. It makes me wonder how many shoppers have gotten screwed in other time zones for MSC's lack of disclosure.

Well, honk my hooter. I would have been one of the ones caught by that because, to me, midnight means midnight, MY TIME.

This happened to me on some burger shops, where the reviewer said the report is due on the same day. Then I realized she was going off Eastern time.
Oops ... edited to remove client name, since MSC name in title of thread.

I think the first one is a good feature, because it will help mitigate the hoarders that claim and reclaim shops. It will give somebody else a chance to grab some during the cool off time.
The cool off period has been true on the magic app but not on the regular sassie platform. This will be new to Sassie.
I guess they don't care about West Coast shoppers taking fewer evening/nighttime shops.

Mountain time zone here, and why I use the change date feature regularly.

I'll book shops for the intended day of the visit so as not to go over daily quotas, but, especially when doing routes, I'll always reset everything to the last available calendar day. SASSIE don't seem to care...

When on a route I finish all reports first thing the next morning.

I can live with that. I use to wait until the midnight hour to put in my reports but I try to do most of them ASAP now. Thanks for posting.

There are a few shop types, such as drive-in burgers and a specific gas audit that can only be done on the selected date, due to site rotation rules or client notification of the date.
Well, no more dinner shops in Hawaii for me now. Hopefully, the midnight EST doesn't stick.

I hear you, Cool, but how are they not screaming at you about not getting the report submitted on the same day you actually shop? There are some (like dinner at the Australian slab of beef) where the submit date will be the following day, but what about all the others where they expect it to be submitted on the actual day you do the shop? I don't see how adjusting the date would be of any help on those.

For example: I did a blue hardware store today. The last date in the range is tomorrow, but I have other things to do for Monday, so I did this one today. Shop performed 6/23, report entered 6/23. Am I missing something where tinkering with the date would allow me to file a report (and Ipsos not scream) on 6/24 for a shop I did 6/23? It seems like that's what they're trying to prevent.

I'm not sure what @CoolMusic has going on, but back when most of the gas audits were on Sassie and I did out-of-town routes, I was allowed to input the reports the following day - past the due date. If the shops dropped off, they let me reclaim them and input the data. I did communicate with them and was given the go ahead. That the client may have made the difference.

For the most part, most of the shops they have around here on that platform, I do not do. There are a few exceptions; such as, an auto company known for their human-centered oriented new drive advancements. I have not even done those the past couple of rounds. Now that I have read this, I think I am going to turn off their e-mails.

There is the truth.
Then there is the right thing to say.

I do this all the time, whenever later dates are available. Sometimes I file the report on the scheduled shop day, sometimes I don't. All depends on my daily schedule and whether I am ahead of it or behind it.

Ipsos has yet to scream, or do anything else for that matter.

Knowing my luck, if I tried to test it, my shop would end up being rejected. The next time something low-paying (and let's be real - they're all low-paying) comes along, I may have to test it.
