Pot Study shops on Presto for $5????

Has anyone done any of these? I see they are being offered at $5. Why would one bother doing these?

Its literally so stupid that they posted these at $5. I do them when they are around $20. The new guidelines actually add 1 additional photo per plant, so now its a bit more work. They usually start these at $10, so the $5 is just...ridiculous.

Grocery/Drug Stores take about 20 minutes onsite to get all the pictures, and then its about 20 minutes to upload all the pics and answer the (multiple-choice, no narrative) questions.

The big box home stores I would never touch, as I'd assume 45 minutes onsite and an hour uploading pics.

These require a lot of organization and the ability to enter tedious amounts of info on your mobile device.

Under no circumstances should anyone do them for $5!

Thanks for the feedback. I kind of figured that but I have never done one. It looks like they went down in pay this time. I could of sworn they paid better previously. I will not be doing these based on your feed back however.

Aww I was hoping my favorite dispensary shop had come back! The only one around here right now doesn’t allow you to get edibles.

I have no idea but I wouldn't do these for less than $40 unless I know there are few pots. How does anyone even do a grocery store without someone noticing. Or does it not have to be "mystery?"

If i remember correctly last time the starting pay was like $12 or $9 last round? They dropped to $5 now?

I made the mistake of doing a potted plant audit today at a local Trader Joe's. Not only are the instructions way too much for a $5 audit, the user interface to make the audit happen is completely unuseable. I will never do these because even for $20 the time and effort to do all the meticulous entries is way too much. Give me my car counting and I'm good.

I gather this is a pottery study and not a pot study. My first impression was yes, lots of people would do a pot study for $5. Would you even care how much you got paid after doing the study?

I stopped doing them. They are tedious and require lots of photos. If the same style of pot but different colors, snap, snap, snap. Drug stores and wholesale warehouses were the easiest. Now, no way in hell.

Sorry! I had to laugh because I saw Bob "Stone" was posting about a pot study. I giggled so hard!

Good catch. I did not even notice his last name. I play soccer at a park named Stoner Park and the employees all have t shirts that say Stoner on them in big letters. I keep asking for my Stoner Soccer t shirt but so far they have not made one for me. Since I am a quasi volunteer employee maybe one day they will get me one.

Update: None of these have been taken at $5 in my area. Perhaps the person who came up with this new fee scheme was, indeed, stoned.

So literally you just take pictures of pots? Like the outdoor pots for plants? I saw one at a local grocery store for $20 and am thinking how hard can it be? This location barely has any plants/pots.

Also, I’m assuming theres “no way” they can prove it you got them all or not. It’s probably for a big client like the HP shops and not for the specific retailer.

If you know that location has no plants/pots it is almost like a crime to take the free money from the MSC.

But if the location has tons of plants/pots. It is a crime to take the job for the amount of pay they giving you.

What if you take one where you no there are no plants and one with 20 plants, does that equal out to a jaywalking ticket?

The MSC of the client is notorious for starting out with a low fee. That was the case in my area. Finally the shop fee were acceptable. These can be tedious shops. They are for indoor plants only, at least the ones I have done. I usually look for grocery stores and pharmacies. Except one grocery store chain, as they have a large floral area and lots of indoor plants for sale.

These shops are tedious and time consuming. There are numerous suppliers which have to be selected from a menu, several photos for each type and style of pot and it sometimes requires tipping the pot to take a photo of the bottom. Four photos in all for each style and type of pot. If it is the same style, but a different size and price then it is a different photo so photos of each type is needed. You do not need to take additional photos of the same style and price of additional pots.

I stopped at a local CVS (not as part of a shop, but this location is on presto) and they had a table full of the plants. I was surprised to see that many , so hard pass at $5. You'd spend an hour doing pictures.

Just did a Costco for a higher fee with no indoor plants. Took pics of the outdoor plants to show as I normally do. Now the editor is asking me for more pics. I sent her the guidelines with some highlights and notes. Indoor with decorative pots and there were none. Why why why do I always get these editors?

Agreed these are tedious, but they have really changed the report on this round. You no longer have to indicate who the supplier is, or the texture/design of the pot, nor enter the pot size or the price. Makes these go a bit faster. I will not do them for less than $20/location, however!
