There has been discussion regarding hair cuts. I don't recall the names of the MSPs, but try using the search function, all dates, and you should get the information you're looking for.
I know that serviceevaluation had hair cut shops during the year. However, it does not shop up any more.
The hair cut shops I did were for Secret Shopper. That was around the first of the year. I have not seen any since then.
Hi,

I had tried the search function without any luck.

I just wanted to say thanks, everyone, for the suggestions!
ICCDS just started offering hair cut assignments. They offer reimbursement and a fee. I've done Shopper Critique shops. Haven't done it for a while because I thought I had a conflict. The last time I did one they were only offering reimbursement which was o.k. with me because a free hair cut is fine but it's nice to get a fee as well.
Mert,

Many times the search function won't work because whomever posted the last time about hair cuts did not list those exact words in their posting header. That is why I keep asking everybody to stop using these vague postings titles like, "I have a question" or "Need help please" or "Which msc?"

Plus I hate needlessly opening and reading messages anyway that don't at all pertain to me. I wish Jacob would start altering these vaguely worded postings.
Or, if the e-mail notices had the message in it, we wouldn't have to open another window or tab to see the post. Then we could choose to go to the website if we want to respond.
Secret Shopper and ACL.

My idea of an agreeable person is a person who agrees with me.

Arch, that would be extremely time consuming to read and alter every post where one of us has detoured, digressed, or titled without specificity. It doesn't take too long to skim a new thread or post and determine if it's personally worthwhile to read.

Avitoots, I haven't found it necessary to check the box to receive email notifications of new replies. I read the forum as often as possible, and review anything new.
Mert -- You missed my point. I would love it if the e-mails we get notifying us of a new comment actually contained the comment so we wouldn't have to go to the board unless we wanted to comment.
I was doing Supercuts for a while, but haven't seen them offered anymore... don't recall what company it was with. I wonder if they changed MSC's or just gave up on their MS program.

Fresno, CA - and shopping all over the middle part of the state!
I got a new haircut this week. It was at a really nice, fancy place and was a SQM shop. You need to be at least level 7 to apply for the shop.

Because of this shop, I may have finally found my "new" hairdresser. Gorgeous, straight and made me look/feel beautiful ~ magic combo! I can't wait to "shop" him again winking smiley
I was doing Hair Cuttery shops for a few months but they now seem to only want female shoppers. Probably just as well as I never seemed to be that satisfied with the haircuts and some of the questions such as "Were you asked what you liked and disliked about your hair" seemed kind of silly to this 60+ year old man.
I've seen listings for both. Also, I've been getting notices of these shops from two different companies.
The only ones I've seen are for Great Clips. I'm very picky about who cuts my hair so I've never signed up for them.
Phoebe -- I just recently received notices for Great Clips, Fantastic Sams and Hair Cuttery (2 different companies for Hair Cuttery). Several months ago I saw something for Vidal Sasoon but can't remember which company.
There is a lot of Fanastics Sam shops in my area. I don't know anybody who needs a haircut.
I agree, so much easier for shopper to get name of MSC while reading the thread instead of searching. I'm sure many search before asking here. I give out names if I can without telling shoppers to do a search, why come here if your not getting help. I am only uptight if they live near me, if someone is across the country, heck, be my guest. The pm's I get asking for both MSC and client from folks in my area, seems more brazen than asking for name of an MSC....so, give it up!

Shoppers Critique does the best cuts.

Is there a problem telling a MSC name and the type of shops they offer? I understand naming clients, but type of shop?
No, not a problem, just don't name MSC and client together, that is the ICA agreegement policy. Saying hair cuts doesn't infrige on policy and is perfectly fine...newbies shouldn't ask fo both, they won't get it, and it is annoying. This has been a consent on almost all threads.

At ICCDS, we are currently conducting mystery shops at hair salons in Illinois. Although we do not have any available right now in NC, we do have a variety of other mystery shops and audits available. If you have any questions just let me know.
If anyone in the Illinois area is interested in assisting with the hair salon mystery shops, that would be great. There are a multitude of services you can get during your visit. It does not just have to be for a haircut. Please contact Eileen at ekuca@iccds.com if you would like to conduct one of these shops.
Thanks so much!

I've done some for Secret Shopper. They've been fun. The pay is just a couple of bucks over the cost of the haircut, though. Not too much of a problem if you need a haircut anyway.
Secret Shopper does these, but the last two that I did were bad. They were good shops, but I had to go get haircuts afterwards. I am really not extremely picky, but my hair just felt wierd. I won't do these anymore. SS is ok to work with.
Secret Shopper staff have been extremely rude to me, and I am proud to announce that I no longer shop for them. They offer terrible pay. Some of the assignments I've done for them caused me to lose money. They do not tell you this ahead of time, but when you follow the minimum requirements in the guidelines, it costs more than the reimbursed amount.

The biggest complaint I have about SECRET SHOPPER, however, is not the negative pay. It's the fact that on six different accounts, I was wrongly accused.

For example, we are to report whether or not the cashier checks the bottom of the shopping cart. In my report, I stated that the "Cashier did not specifically inquire about the bottom of my basket. However, the Cashier did ask if 'that was all?'"

The editor emailed me saying, "You lied that the cashier did not check the bottom of the cart. If they ask for anything else, then that also means they checked the bottom of the cart."

I clearly did not lie.

Not only did they accuse me of LYING on my report, they also dropped my report and didn't pay me for this one little thing. If it were any other shopping company, not only would the editor fix the report, but also notify the shopper of this as well as CHANGE their guidelines so that the guidelines are more specific. Because I followed the guidelines completely, 100%, and I was still wrongly accused and not paid. It cost me time and money, and there was no legitimate reason for them to reject this report. I wrote very detailed narratives and provided them with an excellent report.

The above is just one of many examples. Another time, the receipt I received reflected the WRONG DATE. It was the receipt that was printed wrong, and once again, they told me that I "lied" about the date I did the shop. Once again, I was accused, and not paid for the shop. It wasn't even my fault as I followed guidelines 100% again, turned it in on time and was thorough in well written narratives.

The guys behind this company are not professional. I did well over 30 shops for them, and I have been a mystery shopper for more than five years, almost always bringing in a flawless 10 report for other companies as well. And I am SO proud to say that I QUIT SHOPPING FOR Secret Shopper!!

I am not the only shopper out there who feels this way. I have three mystery shopper buddies, and we perform assignments together. All four of us would highly urge you to boycott SecretShopper. They don't treat shoppers with respect. You never get the benefit of the doubt, and worst of all, they are rude.

Fellow shoppers, there are PLENTY of other great companies out there. Together, if we support the ones that treat us with respect, then we can maintain our quality shopping experience and continue to enjoy what we do.

xox love to all smiling smiley
