Pass on Sentry Marketing/ Sentry Insights

As someone deeply entrenched in the mystery shopping community, it's with a heavy heart that I must share my disappointing experience with Sentry Mystery Shopping. Regrettably, I cannot in good conscience recommend this company to fellow contractors.

My interaction with Sentry Mystery Shopping left much to be desired. Not only did they mistreat contractors/employees (schedulers, editors, and even mystery shoppers), but their lack of timely payments added insult to injury. Not just to myself, but to mystery shoppers. I have had shoppers come to me saying they didn’t get paid after a year! I feel for the shoppers. Though, mine isn’t technically late, it’s later than normal. I don’t appreciate being talked to the way I have been by management or how they talk poorly about others. Sure, I may seem dramatic but I just can’t stand this type of behavior. I’m passionate about how you treat people. I felt I needed to express that.

For those considering joining the mystery shopping community, I strongly advise steering clear of Sentry Mystery Shopping. Their track record of mistreatment casts a dark shadow over what should be a mutually beneficial partnership. (Check Glassdoor on how they treat employees).

In conclusion, my personal experience working as a IC scheduler compels me to caution against engaging with Sentry Mystery Shopping. Let's prioritize companies that value and respect their contractors, fostering a community built on trust and integrity.

They mistreat employees/contractors who work for the company. They also do not pay promptly for IC schedulers or mystery shoppers.
@ColoKate63 I mean, I guess if you like your schedulers and editors to be treated poorly...

Ok wait this sounds like you worked for them as either a scheduler or an editor is that correct? I thought you shopped for them.
@ColoKate63 I worked for them as an IC scheduler. I’m stating I would not recommend to work for them for anything such as scheduling, editing, or shopping based on my interactions. But, obviously everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I just have a bad taste in my mouth from the owner and management.

The OP was a scheduler for Sentry who began scheduling with us in January, 2024.

Their January invoice was processed for payment on February 9, 2024.
Their February invoice was processed for payment on March 14, 2024.

Earlier today, the OP and Sentry mutually parted ways. The OP submitted their invoice for shops scheduled and demanded immediate payment. We explained to them that the March invoice will be paid once all of the scheduled shops have been finalized in our editing process. This is consistent with our agreement and, in my opinion, reasonable.

I don't believe any reasonable person would find the OP's payments to be late.

We don't have any replies to the rest of the comments.

Wow I thought she was a shopper. I may be somewhat new but no wonder schedulers aren't well liked if this is how they act. Not cool.
@Iluv2shopUSA I am sure you would feel the same if you weren’t paid timely for jobs you completed in February and also spoken to the way they did when advocating for yourself.

Schedulers “act” ways based on how they’re treated with the company. If a company doesn’t pay, I’m sure a scheduler isn’t going to be chipper about it.

And yes, I’d like my payment for March shops so I can be done with this company. I don’t think that’s an unreasonable ask.
@Sentry Marketing

I appreciate the information provided regarding the payment processing timeline. While I understand the standard procedure, I must emphasize that requesting payment for FEBRUARY shops is not an unreasonable ask, especially considering the timely submission of invoices. Based on my interaction with you specifically, I’d like to be paid for March too so I can be done with Sentry. As a dedicated scheduler, it's disheartening to feel as though my efforts have gone unrecognized, particularly when compensation is delayed. My intention in seeking prompt payment is simply to ensure fair compensation for the services rendered. Additionally, it's important to note that my interactions with Sentry Marketing have not always been favorable, which adds to the urgency of addressing this matter. I hope we can work together to find a resolution that aligns with our mutual expectations.

I worked the whole month of February, submitted my invoice in February for completing 100% and expected payment early March. Your system is delayed because all invoices weren’t submitted so you held mine back. Thats not reasonable.

I’m sure most would agree, they do not work for free.

It sounds like you and them just parted ways today or this week? I don't understand why you think you should be paid for March now. Again maybe me being new is a good thing since I don't really understand it all but I would say that coming here to blast them is wrong, in my opinion. I have seen so many posts about schedulers being mean and nasty and you are a scheduler acting the way they are saying. I could have only assumed from how certain people dislike Nikki that you are her but then your name says otherwish (Jenny). Maybe you should rethink what you post after you have let 24 hours go by because this seems to be the most unprofessional thing I have seen in the short time I have been on this forum. I can see what schedulers aren't well liked if they all "acted" like you.
@Iluv2shopUSA Perhaps not March, but definitely February.

Putting Nikki’s name out there isn’t the nicest either.

But, isn’t this a page to write who burned you or which companies are great? Well, aside from them not paying February or it taking a very long time to be paid for a months work, the way they speak to people is terrible. I’ll spare the screenshots, but it’s not kind. Sure, I could hold my breath, but I’d prefer others not to be treated the same. I’m sure you would too.

I only put her name out there because since I have been here people talk about her so I thought you were her until I saw you were not. I have done a few shops for Nikki and she's been nothing but pleasant. I am just curious if you "acted" the way you are now to shoppers?

You are coming off as dramatic and unprofessional.

I get it; I’ve been pissed off at employers before. But burning bridges on the internet is poor career strategy.

If it were me, I’d ask the forum mods to delete this entire thread, go have a glass of wine or a long walk, and resolve to just go forward bigger and better.
@Iluv2shopUSA you’d be fine with being treated poorly when advocating for yourself and not being paid for a months work? I don’t think how I’m “acting” is unreasonable. They delayed my payment because others didn’t have their invoices in. I don’t stand for that.

No of course I wouldn't be "fine" but I would not come here to blast a company I just worked with and act like you are acting. But you are venting on a public forum for anyone to see. If I owned a company I wouldn't hire you based off of this at all. I agree with the other person go grab some wine and chill.
@PiggyBooboo

The agreement we both signed states:

Contractor will submit an invoice at the conclusion of each month. Contractor shall receive payment no later than the 30th of the month following the month that services were rendered.

You were paid per the agreement. We did not hold your invoice back. When payment is deposited later this week, you will have been paid in less than 30 days.

The information regarding the timing of your February and March payments was provided to you in our email exchange several hours ago before you posted on this forum.

I recently posted this on another thread regarding Sentry: "I only do one restaurant for them, but they are very responsive when I have had to move a date. I was very ill last year and did not realize for many months I had not been paid as I had not signed up with their payment program correctly. Once I figured it out and contacted them they graciously made my back payments."
