Canceling Shops

Just curious if there is any penalty for canceling Shops on ISS or Market Force? I've kicked myself a couple times for not signing up for certain shops because I wasn't sure about the dates since sometimes they are posted a few weeks in advance. I've always thought about signing up now and canceling later it needed, especially since both allow rescheduling of dates as well.

MarketForce will most definitely ban you for too many cancellations. That's what happened to me, although after several years passed, I was able to be reinstated.

If your path dictates you walk through hell, do it as though you own the place. -unknown

Market Force will ban you, ISS will lower your points/ score and it could go low enough to not be able to self assign or even be given shops.

Using canceling shops as a tool is not good with any MSC. Rescheduling is better.

A lot of companies will give you a flake citation for cancelling.

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.

They banned me for a late report. I try to re-apply every couple of years, but no go so far.

I'm still with ISS with a couple of shops this weekend, but I'm limited in the number of self assigns because my score is -24 LOL

My rubber duckies have shifted there, so hopefully I'll be in the black soon enough...

marketforce will let you reschedule up to 3 times. And if you explain why you cancel they will take that into consideration. But, like the others said, if you cancel too many times you stand to lose that revenue stream. I have a low score with ISS, because of having to cancel shops when I was sick too many times, and I'm having a terrible time trying to figure out how to make it better. I try to do at least one shop for them every month. I got a new badge last month, but I can't tell if my score is higher yet or not. I still can't self assign more than 2 shops, so probably not.

To me, it is unethical to schedule a shop I am uncertain if I will complete it. I've taken a loss when I messed up on scheduling rather than cancelling. That what sub-contractors in fields like construction do from time to time in order to keep business flowing.

Try calling them. The US-based service reps are generally pretty easy to work with and I've been able to get back in. As a whole the company seems a lot less uptight than they were in years past.

Maybe I need to try on my laptop. I don't see anything on the app or phone even with desktop view checked. I never uploaded a photo and see the option to do so but the button directly below it is the home button.

On my app it shows up just under the Welcome! message. It shows my score (currently -4 lol) and my self assign limit.

I've got two rubber ducky reports in, awaiting scores. Hopefully when they are done it will put me back in the positive so I can sell assign more.

Ahh I see. I have a reputation number of 3 and multiple badges with a self assign limit of 4. I'm not sure what their scale is though and how far up it goes. I've been doing a lot more on ISS in the last 6 months since we moved and they have a lot more opportunities, but I also noticed that sometimes I don't get any points for a completed shop. I'm not sure if it matters though. I don't think I have had more than 4 shops I have been interested in at the same time anyways.

I bow down to your your superior reputation! :-D

I now have a reputation of 1 after having completed some car washes.

The value there is the self assign limit. I'm still at 2.

The blingy badges are cute, and about as meaningful as Ipsos report ratings.

Nice! And yeah the people who have taken over the company are much nicer than the folks who used to be there. Now if we could get them to fix the the issues with the folks who call us and badger us to take shops.

Because I was bounced so long ago, all my info has changed.

But now I'm locked out and they have no record of me. :-P

Glad my burger report was submitted OK. Now we see what hoops I get to jump through to receive payment. It had a bonus of $15 and I got out for 4 cents under the reimbursement amount!
