It's cinnamon recall time!

It looks like from the e-mail I got, they have given everybody their assignments back. It is now every man and woman for themselves as they assignments will be pulled again once their quota is met.

RQA has to do better. Again - disorganization! It's no way to run a company.

I've worked for them for about 10 years and they have always been disorganized. If you expect anything else from them, you will likely be disappointed. But they are also very nice and helpful and a great company to work for.

I also had the gray screen app issue. I called them, they reset it and my jobs popped right up. They told me lots of people with iphones are having the issue.
Yeah, so now after the fellow at RQA tells me my previously 10 locations have been pulled, I get a notification on my phone that they're back! Oye vey!
Has anyone done one of these yet? Can you please walk me through the Destruction procedure and how it went for you? I assume it is going to be the normal way, where you open everything and dump the product and containers in two separate bags. I'm a bit worried about doing this on site as cinnamon can be a bit messy. How did this go? Any tips?
I got mine back as well but I can't do them until after work tomorrow. Sounds like I shouldn't count on them being there that long. Fingers crossed!!
I just finished some. The job is actually an effectiveness check according to the LOA. All of my locations had already destroyed their inventory.

According to the directions, you take the top off of the cinnamon and dump the contents in a bag, then put the top and the cinnamon container, in another bag until you get them all emptied out. Also, I believe it said you need to scan the bar-code and record how many of each size.

But as someone else mentioned in this thread, it is an effectiveness check and the stores I did today were very effective, because they had none left.

I went out and did all of mine. Very easy. I averaged about 7 to 9 minutes in each store. I was lucky in that all but one store was dead customer-wise and I didn't have to stand around waiting to speak to anybody. Every location had destroyed the product. So the time was long enough to take the one required photo, walk the store, and check the glorified closet backroom. I was also lucky in that at 7 out of 10 locations, I spoke with the person who actually had pulled and destroyed the product. My longest duration in a store was around 15 minutes. This location was busy, and the cashier told me she was the only one working and said I would have to come back tomorrow. The thing was, while I was standing back waiting for the cashier to get a few seconds between customers, I saw someone go into the closed-off office booth. So, I pressed the cashier again. She then said that was the manager, but she was busy, and I would need to come back tomorrow. I asked for the manager's name, and the cashier refused to tell me. Noting that there was a line of customers, I may have loudly said, "Listen, this is about an FDA recalled product, and it is vital I speak with the manager, now." Imagine, the cashier then picked up the phone and called the manager out of the office! With driving, it took about 3.5 hours to do all of my locations.

Be aware, the aisles in these stores are narrow, so you'll likely have to take your required shelf photo at an angle. Also, there is applesauce that had this cinnamon in it that was also recalled. I had a few stores that asked me about that, and I told them I was only there for the bottles shown in the photos.

I knocked all ten of mine out today. It put a kink in my plans, but I didn't want to risk not getting them in before the accelerated deadline. -rolls eyes- By the way, thanks for creating a feeding frenzy, RQA.

None of my stores had products. The destruction process sounds straightforward, though. Purchase trash bags there at the store—get the receipt and add that to your expenses. You'll need two bags per store: one to dump the cinnamon/cinnamon sugar in and one to dump the containers/lids/packaging.

After I submitted my expenses for the ten, I was hoping to pick up more, but the project vanished entirely from the available list. Kind of funny that the two chains are willing to hedge their bets and only check a sampling of stores.

Honestly, a sampling is probably all that is needed. This is not a situation where there have been any reports of anybody having high lead levels in their blood. The FDA did random tests and the results were mildly high, but not excessive. The company voluntarily recalled the products. To be honest, they have probably been selling this stuff with higher lead levels for years. If they find a lot of stores with product, they may do more sampling, so I am going to watch this week to see.

Stores in my area had a district conference call today, and I was told they had to confirm on the call the products had been removed and destroyed.
I did 10 and my husband did 10.
Found two stores with it still on the shelf. Three more stores had pulled it but kept it in the back.
The first store I visited today had a sign on it saying temporarily closed. Ok, so I did the other stores and tried again when I was done. This was like 1.5 hours later, same sign , door locked. I am not likely to go back tomorrow because I have other jobs in a completely different area. Do I document that and submit it for payment or just let it fall off and call it a day? I will email them in the morning but figured I would ask here first.
I don't think locations just fall off like with MSCs. You will have to ask them to remove it from your list.
I would just let it fall off and call it a day. The only field to really document it is at the very end. In recall work, I doubt there's any payment for an attempt.

I did 6 of my 10 locations...easy-peasy. They had all already destroyed the product. I wasn't in any store longer than 10 minutes. Hope my other 4 are still there tomorrow!
I did four today. They only sent me a list of five, and one of them was too far for $20, so I did all I could do in my area. It was so easy. None of the stores had any product left and all the employees were super nice. This is only the second time I worked for them. The first one I did was the Italian chocolate project and there weren't any of the expired chocolate bars still in stock for that one. So far, the work has been really easy and quick, but I do strongly dislike their app!

I had a store closed during posted hours and I was paid again to go back a few days later (the Knorr job) and complete it. Took a building photo and called in the next day to ask how to handle it.
I'll duck back in to give some love: They approved my expense sheet in under 24 hours. That's what I'm talking about!
I read this morning that Family Dollar and Dollar Tree are closing stores - maybe that is why stores were closed? If people got told they were losing their jobs, they may have all quit.
I didn't sign up when I initially got the email because it didn't have any details and having to destroy on site can change how I want to be paid. Hopefully they have some details and locations in my area.
I will wear a face mask if I do any. Don't really want to inhale cinnamon or lead by mistake.
its highly unlikely you will find product in any of the stores that needs to be destroyed - if that helps!

Finished up the last 4 of my 10 shops today. 3 had no product. My very last store, a FD, had 16 of the plain cinnamon that had been pulled and taken to the office, but not destroyed. This was my only store with product out of my ten. So in the presence of the MOD, I destroyed them!! Then after I came home and reported my expenses, the job is now totally GONE from the dashboard! Maybe they are not going to let reps do anymore, because the outside destruction rate is probably less than half a percent.

ETA: Well, now the job is there for the cinnamon recall, but there are no locations in my area....at least for now there aren't. Maybe that will change.

Not in my experience.

Did a soup safari to a location that was a sewing shop. The big box had moved to a location a few blocks up the road.

Took a picture of the building with the address, and two pictures of the empty parking space next to me, and did the report.

Full pay (by location) and mileage.

The location won't 'fall off' like other MSC. You also won't be able to submit your invoice until all locations are completed in the app. So you won't be paid for any of them till they all are done. That being said you snap a photo of the store and report it closed. You will be paid for it. You might also be paid again to go back, but that's not 100% assured.

This is what I did. I filled out the report as a closed location to submit expenses. It looks like they approved it which is great. I didn't expect to get paid so fantastic
Just did my first consumer recall and will need to ship it back today. I guess I also have to go buy a box because I have no plain/ not previously used ones. How does everyone expense the packing supplies? IE: If you need to buy bubble wrap that is on a roll do you just neasure the amount used and then take that % of the total - and save the receipt to use for the next go around?

That was for expedited visits. There were still some at the regular rate.
