Hi everyone, I'm new to mystery shopping. I think I may do one of the dining (wing) shops this weekend. What kind of coupon or voucher is it exactly that the waitress or manager gets? Is the survey for BM a lot on these shops? Thanks!!
If the server mentions one or both current promotions, he or she wins a voucher for a prepaid Visa. The amount varies. If the server neglects to mention either promotion, the manager gets a paper letting him or her know. The forms are simple, never take me long.

jgraham, you have to follow the directions you are given from the MSP. I am not sure what you are talking about. Oh, and Suzie, I think we are talking about two different chains now that you mention Tex Mex. This is a regular American family restaurant.
I just signed up for my first restaurant shop and then went to look at the other available shops and found that all of the restaurant shops are now no longer available to me and not listed. Do they have some sort of rule of how many food shops one can do in a certain period of time. If someone who is more familiar with the company could let me know how this MSC works, I would greatly appreciate it. TIA
They used to have such nice restaurants in my area, around $200. Now about $15.

Yes, they have rotations though they are not always defined. Recently, I wanted to take some phone shops. There were 7 or 8 listed that were due the same day. I took one, went back to get another and they all had disappeared. The same will happen with their restaurant, electronic and automotive shops. In a pinch, if and when a shopper is needed and called, the rotation is forgotten. Kind of similar overall to MarketForce's unstated rotations.

However Marketforce does not take away other locations for the same chain. Bestmark takes away all shops in the same category which is a lot more restricting. So only one restaurant shop regardless of whether it is lunch, dinner or to go and regardless of who the client is? That does not seem all that reasonable and do they have that many shoppers who in an area that they can do this? Sometimes I have a shop scheduled for a different location but Marketforce will call me to take another location and even if I don't it is still available to me on the job board.

Yes, they do. There are shops I do for them that I need to choose wisely from the group because as soon as I accept one location, all others disappear. Sometimes in 24 hours the other locations will reappear if they have not been taken by other shoppers. With the number of available locations, I have no reason to believe that other shoppers quickly grabbed all the rest of them and cancelled the next day.
Now I can select multiples of the same type of family restaurant shops. Hmmmmmmm.
Carol, not all their clients have rotation requirements. Also, requirements change. Several months ago, they got a new client in my area, a restaurant chain. For the first few months, seemingly, I could take as many per month as I wanted. Now, I can only take two, and as Flash says, must choose wisely.
How do you get the dining shops for them? All I ever see are electronics stores, auto service, new car shops and apartment shops.
Kris, maybe they don't have any dining shops for your area. Remember, all sections of the country differ in what is available.
Yes, I used to see lots of nice dining shops. Now all I see are the $15 electronics jobs.
Here the electronic jobs are only a measly $10.
I've done this shop four times and have had to give the Oops card three times. I was disappointed I wasn't able to give the $50 or $100 certificate. I would think the staff would WANT to say what they are supposed to just in case they were the one being shopped.

Regarding their dining shops ~ I do theirs. I was aware that there was one restaurant which was never shown on my Open Shops. I contacted my scheduler to inquire and was advised that my age put me outside the client demographic. He further advised that he could approve me as a shopper, if I were interested. Voila!

Curious how do you find out about shops of they are not on your open shops?

Take the clues from the forum! Call your scheduler and ask. Sometimes they just need to know you are interested and dependable. I eat Mexican food three days a week nearly every week because of one scheduler. (Not Bestmark)

Thanks, I never call the schedulers and only sometimes get calls from them. I just thought that they are too busy and did not want our calls. When I have an occasional question about a shop, I always emailed.

The restaurant isn't a national chain but has several locations around me and I wondered if they were shopped. I googled their name + mystery shop and found a shopper's blog. Not at all mindful of her ICA, she provided the MSP's name, the fee and an overview of the report.
I shop for BestMark a lot, and have no problem with them. As far as the name not appearing, it you do a few shops for them you'll quicky learn the client base and it won't take you but a sec to figure out where the shop is. Like Dinner $35 reimbursment...on that's a (so and so)
There is only one resturant shop for them that I can't eat for the price paid, again I can't say the name but it's $15.00 reimbursment for a "round" dish for two.

I agree with Trolly, you eat at some of these places and feel like you are writing a restaurant review for the New York Times for a report.
