carress, they DO pay, however, the norm is that it is not before 90 days, and you have to contact them. Once contacted, payment seems to be made pretty quickly.

This is the one company that I have worked for and repeatedly have to beg for my money! They make you wait the 90 days and then when you ask what happened you get a standard email that they're looking into it. You get a couple more of those and then finally you get paid. I don't shop for them often because of this. However, I love to dine out and they have some great dinner shops so I treat it as if I'm dining out anyway and when I get paid later - it's like a gift. That's actually my bottom line for any slow payers - I'll only do the job if the reimbursement is for something that I am doing anyway.
I've got $350 tied up for 5 shops I did for them a couple of months ago. I agree with some other posters. If the shops weren't REALLY nice, I wouldn't do them, but they are. It'll just be a nice surprise when it finally does come, I guess. I've never worked for any company I had to ask for my money, so this will be a first, I guess.
I had to go back and research this post. Someone from this company should read this forum. And tell US why there is a problem with pay.

This company sends me emails every day about a shop. But I can't get them to pay me worth beans. I wait my 120 days but still no payment. One of there schedulers should come on this forum and speak the truth, B/c I hate begging for chump change. If I ever get paid, I am just going to delete there emails.

I will update every so often and delete the emails. I don't want to just cancel, just in case they get a concisous.

I would not wait 120 days, I would wait exactly 90 days and email them.

The company does read this forum, and for a while they were posting here. Do a search for "all dates" and read some of the discussions. They made some big promises about improvement. At one point, I was so impressed with one of their employee posters - see made great sense and had big plans for improvement and talked of valuing shoppers - that I actually signed up despite the bad reviews. But then all the jobs I saw had low reimbursement amounts and huge ordering requirements so, thankfully, I never accepted one of their jobs. I am still signed up and I still see their e-mails. I also still see the complaints about them on the forum so I doubt I'd accept a job until I start to hear a little better feedback. And the company has stopped posting. I'm sure they are still trying to put their improvements in place but they have stopped telling us about them.
AMelanson was the person from Goodwin who was posting here, but she hasn't posted for more than a year. She has, however, revisited the forum during 2011, though not recently. Amy did seem to be interested in improving the environment for shoppers with Goodwin, but I guess that was just too much of an uphill battle. The reality is that nothing seems to have changed with Goodwin in several years. I too am awaiting more positive shopper feedback as philosophically I won't work for a company where I need to demand payment for accepted work.
I'm awaiting a small payment the end of this month for an ice creme shop, will let you know if I get it without reqesting pay.

Kurt Cortnoir and Randy Hartman are to two schedulers whom have been emailing me about assignments.

I have not heard from AM since last year also. AM corrected the pay problem I was having b4, but now it is the same thing all over again. The shops were done in April.

I did wait my 90 days but it is September now. When I get paid, I just won't do anymore shops for them.
Once again everybody, do not shop for Goodwin and the result will be unfilled shops requiring the client to contract with a new msc that will hopefully be more ethical than this current sleaze Goodwin operation.
To keep U (s) informed---> I heard back from G & A. Apparently 3 persons in the firm were not aware, I had not got paid.

A Senior Operating Partmer and a training Manager are cutting me a PP check as I type. and LIng LaFrambois is processing it right now. I am going to keep these three names at the head of the class, when I see G & A come to my email.

Anybody else having payment problems with them I will give you there names in a PM.

I don't wanty to BLAST them on a forum like this yet, G & A has been in our bad graces b4.

Now let me go check out that PP statement.
I heard from several people each time I inquired about my payments. Mind you, it was past 90 days, and then past 120 days. The check was being processed that week, the next week, by the end of the month, blah, blah, blah. It got old, and I don't have the time. They only have one client in my area, and they have emailed me with desperate pleas. But it's no loss. When they get their act together, I'll be happy to shop for them again - with a 30 day payment.
4ince I am seeing so many pay issues with Goodwin, I am going back through my records to make sure I got paid.
For MSC's that mess with your pay and difficult to work with, I quickly cross them off my list. Most MSC's have pay policies that put in writing when you sign up. If it says it takes one year and your are paid a year later, don't gripe. MSC's expect us to follow the rules, so should they,
You are correct, Jerry, that when you contract for work both sides are regulated by that agreement. The pay 'issues' arise when the companies are not abiding by their side of the contract. And there are so many instances of this with Goodwin, Freeman, Franchise Compliance and Restaurant Evaluators that truly shoppers work for them at their own risk. Unfortunately not all shoppers read forums and only find forums when they are angry and frustrated because the company did not hold up their end of the contract.
I have had no response from them regarding a March shop I did for them. I know its only $10 but no response at all, phone goes to voice mail and emails are non-responsive and the scheduler refers me to accounting email and they never respond.
Send them a letter, certified mail, return receipt requested, stating they have 14 pays to make you whole or you will take legal action. It's cheap and gets people's attention way better than a voice mail or email.
@raisitup They responded...said they would pay by paypal on Tuesday. I'll see it when it happens. Something about a database data loss.....

Owing "only" $10.00 to hundreds around the country translates into thousands and that's money they are making interest on....I am owed 10.00 and if it is not received by the end of this month, will charge them interest. I am preparing to send an email stating that they now owe me 12.00.

Let Ling LaFrambicso and Eric Conson know of your disgruntled pay issues. Ling is the account spokesperson and Eric is the Senior Operating Manager. Address them to goodwin-associates.com.

Regardless of my issues with them, I still respect there honest opinion. I will contiune to shop for them. They seem to have had a database malfunction for the months of March,April and May. They have no records of whom shopped for them. We just have to inquire, so we can get paid. Sounds flimsy but.........

Please let us know how that goes. I am curious to see how they react to that.
After reading all these I had been scheduled to do a deli for them; I cancelled it as I don't intend to jump through hoops for months. I always look at it this way; if I can't tell my utility companies or mortgage holder that excuse I'm being given, don't give it to me.

Well that and "don't pee on my leg and tell me its raining".
Goodwin is SLOW-I can't believe that they get away with it, but, I usually have a couple of beers and a snack- sometimes with my son and still make $20+- but you have to wait. I contact then regularly at 75 days and POP it comes out within a week-Paypal
I did a few shops for them and just got around to asking for the payment earlier this month. They were off by $2. I emailed them and said that I was not sent the correct amount. They emailed me back and said "you received your total due" so I wrote down ALL of the shops..the name of the business, location, date, and amount. I scanned it, and emailed it to them. At the bottom of that paper, I wrote the the TOTAL amount owed minus what they sent.

In the email, I said "see, you owe me $2"..it was sent to my paypal account within the hour.
I finally wrote and it was forwarded to Ling who handles payroll. Received an immediate email saying money will be deposited into paypal within 3 days. Had I not written, would I not have been paid. Ling is very lax.....

$$ in paypal, took two days after waiting 4 months for 10 bucks. Amy emailed Ling and was curt, everything was then taken care of...I see this as Ling's problem, not on top of it and won't pay without email. Amy was nice and I believe trying to straighten this out. Still, just don't want to remember to email for this bit of money.

Goodwin only paid me recently, when I begged for my pay for a restaurant I did in MAY!

It's not like they are going to just "pay you" ...you have to bug them and that's sad...
I once owned a service business with typical collectibles of around $50K at any given time. What I read above are all classical excuses for the payor not having the money to pay. Mark my words, if Goodwin stalls like this on a regular basis they are not financially sound and quite likely could fail entirely. I for one do not want to be waiting for reimbursement for an expensive dining shop if this happens.

FYI I ocne posted a similar comment on V-God's forum which was quickly deleted. I guess he protects all MSCs equally.
