PO about a PO shop

Has this happened to anyone else? My PO shop was rejected because the picture did not clearly show all four corners of the package. Both addresses were clearly and totally visible, the only (VERY SMALL) piece missing in the picture was the tiniest portion of one corner. So, not only did I lose the fee, I lost the money I spent to mail the package. Yeah, I'm pi$$ed off....

Email the project Manager, Patricia. She likely can get this corrected for you. She is wonderfully helpful, and responds to emails same day. patricia.bellina@themsc.com. (obviously insert the actual MSC's name in her email address in place of "themsc", just not listing it here since it will name them).
Once upon a time, when the "infamous Nikki" was scheduling PO shops (yes, it's been a while), she suggested that I take two pics of the receipt, making sure that my pictures contained EVERY inch of the receipt between the two pictures. Because I wanted to do the reports while I was on site, as I was doing them, rather that bringing them home and tearing (cutting) them in half and scanning them into a single picture.

And I did that for a long time, several years. But then about 3 years ago some editor came unglued over having 2 pics, and it says in the guidelines that the receipt should be all in one picture no matter what. And this editor, rejected 2 of my shops. For doing the job the way the scheduler told me to do it. Even if it was Nikki, I did it that way successfully for years.

This MSC will randomly change the rules, or suddenly force you to abide by the letter of the guidelines, or even a different interpretation of the guidelines at any given moment. Do EVERYTHING exactly their way, and you will still get edited, and your shops degraded, or rejected for the least possible offense. And they can and do still use your report, don't believe them when they say they can't over a tiny misstep like missing the tip of the corner of a box.
I always take two pics of the package to be on the safe side. I am not sure if it will work on your phone but my phone camera has a feature where it will fill in missing parts of a photo. It may not work if the missing parts are off the edge of the photo however but it will match and fill in a pattern if something is blocking part of it etc. I have a Pixel phone. Not sure if other phones have this feature.
They seem really harsh with these shops. I did one recently and submitted the report onsite...or thought I did. The next morning I noticed it was not submitted and I sent it. I got a rejection because it was late (due at midnight). I could accept a pay reduction, but ouch, the shop was completed and if I had submitted it at 11:59 pm no one was going to review it any earlier, so it seemed unreasonable to just reject it and burn me for the $12.55 postage. I sent an email and asked for a reconsideration but didn't even get a response, which was rude.

I submitted one at 6 am instead of midnight and got a response that it would be accepted "as a one-time courtesy." I rolled my eyes but sent back a thanks.
I do not KNOW which MSC these posts are referencing, but I would guess, predicated upon the problems, it is one that could trace its lineage back to Bonaparte. Unless one is desperate for money and/or a masochist, kick 'em to the curb. Then move on with shopping for companies that are appreciative and willing to reward one according to their abilities.
I guess I must work for the wrong companies as most of the ones I work for would not accept a late report. They may allow me to make arrangements ahead of time but the deadlines without prior approval are usually pretty firm. I sense for many of them tho if you have a great track record with them they would give you some leeway in this case.
Yeah it's strange when there's a midnight deadline for submitting but then the report sits waiting to be reviewed. Sometimes for days.

I think it's so your recollection of the shop is fresh in your mind when you fill out the report.

But when I do routes I sometimes find it difficult to complete all the shops by the deadlines.
bradkcrew: My shop was also rejected due to the timing of submission. They claimed it was not filed by midnight. I live in a time zone 3 hours behind them and I don't recall ever submitting a report after 9 PM so I wonder if for some reason the time zone difference is a culprit. I was PO for sure. I have been doing PO shops for 7 years and only recently, this year and in the last few months have I encountered this picky editing.
They are now using Wordsmith to edit the shops. They are real nit picky from the one shop they edited and rejected for me.

It was one of those that sits for a week and then they give you 12 hours to make corrections.
Those west coast jobs that are due in an east coast time zone are crazy. I have no idea what those who shop in Hawaii do! Their reports are probably due before the shop even starts!

Lemme guess. Because that Mobi-style knock off app got stuck on "synchronizing" for hours?
Ugh, the more I think about it the more irritated I am. Not only didn't I get paid but I also paid $12.55 to send my son 2 canned goods to hit two pounds, LOL.
Right, a double whammy. I think mine might have been the only time I have ever LOST money on a shop...
