Just want to rant

I just did a survey for a major company That sent me a ouestionare that had to be made up by an idiot. When I see something wrong, I have no problem with making comments. When they ask me to comment on a yes answer such as was the foyer clean I take that as an insult to my intellegence especially when they want 3 to 5 sentences. I got home last night at 8:30 pm and had to get the survey in by 11:00pm. I found up dates to my survey for the next day sent as late as 11:40am. I left at 10:15am to do surveys. Next complaint I was sent to do a survey on a Mexican restarant I had to dress in a professional way as a representative of the company and was to meet with the manager. For this, a 25 minute drive each way, $6.00 worth of gas, a 30 minute meeting and survey of 65 + guestions of which 12 needed comments, they also wanted architect features of the building, how many windows on the right side, how many windows on the left side, could you see the roof from the ground, etc. For this the princely sum of $7.00 and a purchase limit of a cup of coffee before taxes $2.00. I will probably wait a minimum of 45 days to get paid.

Rant away. The low pay, especially for a reveal, is certainly valid. There are companies that just do not pay to work with, and I find often it is the shops you are already kicking yourself for having suckered into in the first place that come back with all sorts of requests for more information from an editor who you really wonder if they can even read or bothered reading what you already submitted. And yes, those also seem to be the shops that there is some snafu in payment so rather than getting paid in the stated pay cycle (usually long), they have to pay you in the following pay cycle. But of course you had to waste still more time to discover that there was a snafu.
Th might be the worst shop I've ever heard of...how do they get that done...I'd be ranting till next week, I hope you didn't do it, but I guess you did. You must be a new shopper, and my advice to you, learn how to say no...these type of MSC's are totally using the shopper, I hate to hear something requiring this much work is paying so little, makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck. I would name the MSC to let everyone know to boycott this company. Cheer up, things have to get better.

Live consciously....
This sounds awful!! Again, I think that everyone who is complaining about terrible low paying shops needs to get in to apartment, new home, car dealership shops especially video shops. I don't do shops that pay less than $50
Sounds like you are a new shopper. When I was new I was sucker in to doing very low paying shops. At the time I was happy that they were allowing me to shop for them but when I got home and it was time to submit the report I was disappointed. A

I had to learn really quick. Now there are a number of companies that I refuse to work for anymore. 1 been 'Second to None'. Their pay sucks and they require to much for the little 7 or 8 dollars that they pay.
I like second to none. Without them, I would not have the ingredients to build my Reubens! (I love the Deli!)

Pay is not important.
Second to None pays well enough especially when its bonus time. However I had a falling out with them when they didn't understand the fact that when there is another 8 inches of snow on top of the 44 already on the ground and we're expecting another 12 I was not going to look at Ipods. (We had that wonderful winter this year that it snowed WEEKLY and the forecasters were off each time!) The scheduler was nasty about it and said I didn't take my "job seriously". I told her I take my life much more seriously than 7 bucks. (and I had offered to do it earlier before the storm hit and was told no). And that was the end of that relationship.
