Who are these companies?

I received the following emails today and I have never heard of either company. Are they legit?? I did not open either of them up since I dont know about them and have not heard anyone here talk about them. You all are so smart and know so much about what is spam and what is phishing, thought I would get your opinion.

This one is for taking surveys, I think.

The second one sounds like an MS Company

You are registered on our Shopper Data Base and we need your help. Our client issues a premium credit card and they are interested in determining “best practices” on their competitors’ credit card websites. We are looking for shoppers who own other premium credit cards issued by companies that would be considered competitors to our client. These shoppers should also be registered on the competitor’s premium credit card website.

If you are interested in doing this shop, please click the link below to fill out our two question survey:

Should you wish to be considered for this assignment, please provide your name, your e-mail address, your city and state of residence, and check off which cards you own.

As for the first one, who knows? The second one, HS Brands is the parent name for Service Sleuth.
Yes, Service Sleuth is a reputable company. They are slow to pay (Feb jobs were to be paid by May 6 'or sooner' according to the website), but they do get it done. They are one of the slowest paying companies I still tolerate.

I work for Service Sleuth a lot. Checked that site over thoroughly and it appears to be theirs, I worked it down section by section and there were no redirects.
I do at least one shop every month for Service Sleuth. As everybody says they pay slowly but they do pay.
Service Slueth is a solid company and pays, however slow....I work for them and wouldn't hesatate to recommend them.

I don't mind companies paying slowly as long as I am not out money I wouldn't normally spend. By doing many shops each month, there's a steady stream of money coming in from past shops, and that's good by me.
I have worked with Service Sleuth for almost 5 years. While they do have about a 60 day (or a bit more at times) period after a shop is complete before they pay, I have always been paid and have never once had to contact them for payment; over 90 shops to date. They pay well for some shops and the schedulers are good to work with. They are a very reputable and stable company.
I am not familiar with Market Reader Pro, but I have found Howard Services/service Sleuth to be a good and reliable company.

The BBB is a good place to check on the legitimacy of any company. In addition, try the "other forum," for a specific thread on any MSC.

Happily shopping Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut
Yes, Volition.com can be a good reference for more information about a company. Be aware that there is a lot of 'sanitization' of posts there, so keep your salt shaker handy.
I got the same email as your #2, but it was not with Service Sleuth...it came from Isposis and was a CC audit, and very involved (if this is the same one). I have not gotten any CC emails from Service Sleuth, they seem to only
