I applied but was rejected; either age 66 or fact I am not employed. Phone calls for 10 days to apply for mortgage at a major bank. Keep notes and do report. Would have loved to do it as I was a mortgage lender when I worked and it would have been easy.

Who sees your age over the phone, another mistake by the client, you'd have been perfect for this job with your experience.

Live consciously....
i was just wondering because the other shop they do are audits and some have said it comes down to about 4 dollars an hour...

I just received an email from the MSC in answer to my question. If was the fact that I am not (neither is my dh) is employed outside the home (considered an employee by a company). This is one of the requirements of this shop.

Alls fair...but still disappointed. They were very cordial and prompt in getting me the answer.
With that kind of pay, I suspect there is either something really undesirable about that shop or it's a HUGE amount of work. We all know how the fee structure works in this industry....
Some these phone shops require that you get prequalified for a mortgage, using your real name. In addition, a credit report is pulled. If you do several in a short period of time, it could lower your credit score. I have noticed these offered by several companies. I am not sure that these are the shops you are referring to.
