Fuel prices

What is everyone doing to help with the rising costs of fuel? No help from any of the gas station shops from CRI, still a whole dollar.

I stopped doing cheap shops. When the companies can no longer get sub minimum wage workers the fees will rise. CRI is one of the worst paying companies out there. Stop doing work for them.
Since they've changed the program and it now involves a considerably larger amount of work, I'm not even considering CRI's fuel stations evaluations, even those with bonuses. I used to do quite a few of them, locally when they'd get over $20 and then I'd travel for some when they'd get even higher. I could get one of the shops done in about ten minutes. Now I have a feeling it's going to take at least a half an hour, since you now have to introduce yourself to the employee, do the more involved evaluation, and then get the employee to sign you out.

My evaluations are the same as they've always been but it is easier to get the pictures without looking like a spy on the lot. Nearly all of the ones I did I got paid %10/$1 for and I wasn't on a lot over 12 minutes for the worst one. I can do them in my sleep, string 10-12 together in a day and do shipping shops along the same route and clean up. I'm adding some other gas shops from a different MSC and they pay the same $10 but reimburse for 2 gallons of gas. Hoping to get a route or two from CRI for their new program. I never did them for the insulting fees, and I loved doing the occasional $25 one, but I did an awful lot for $10 each and am blessed to have the money when it's all said and done. There was no reimbursement for gas this last round so I didn't buy any during the shops. I only bought sodas from inside the convenience store, presneted my letter at the end and then took as many pictures as I needed. There's a minimum of 5 (4 if no restroom) if everything is perfect. I think I took 13 at one place and threw away bad ones and kept 9.

Well, I did one of the "updated" CRI gas stations shops. It was bonused to almost $40, and I knew it was a station with few, if any, issues, so I thought it would be a good one to do as a trial. It took me about 25 minutes... so it wasn't too bad.

I might pick up a few more to do on Thursday... got a call from Maritz to done one of their ten minute bank shops in Bishop, which I had done for them several months back. She offered me $100 to do it again. I himmed and hawed around and she went to $150, so I took it. It's going to cost me about $110 for gas for the trip, but I've picked up one of CRI's discount retailer shops in Bishop for $40 and I'll probably pick up a few of the gas station shops (I'm going to hold off and see if the fee will go up a bit on a couple of them), so it will be a worthwhile day, especially since it's such a beautiful drive up highway 395.

That's what I'm talking about steven! Whooo hooooooooooo. Good for you! I'm praying for some good weather for next week. I'll be doing some driving for the next three months and it's been raining for weeks. Flood warnings everywhere and roads closed.

What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to bring you near?
What if the trials of this life are His mercies in disquisse?

Rising fuel prices reinforce the importance of building and driving efficient routes. Unfortunately, what will suffer for me are the reimbursement only shops that aren't easily combined with fee paying shops. Generally speaking though, these are lifestyle shops, as opposed to bread and butter types. I guess that's the fortunate partsad smiley
Just turned in my old car for a 2008 Honda Fit. Got 36.4 mpg on first tank of gas, with mixed city and highway driving. That's almost what a Prius would get. BTW, prices of used Prius are up 40%. That's why I lept to get a higher mileage vehicle before the used Japanese brands all skyrocket due to production stoppages.

BTW, the fit is fun to drive and has amazing cargo space.

WM. I did a shop on the Honda fit and would have loved it if my car needed to be replaced. I have a 2007 Honda Accord Coupe (V-6) mileage could be better, but not much I can do about it at this point, at least I use regular.....

Live consciously....
I am headed out on a 2300 mile road trip beginning next week, so this was a no brainer.

Oyr car has a turbo engine and we have to buy premium. We do get better mileage with premium and it runs better, but ouch.
We drive kia Rios with about 30 mpg on the road. Want mine back! The wreck was 3/23 and I haven't seen it since! Would like to mystery shop the mechanic!!!
