ACE MYSTERY SHOPPING

Thanks, plmccut. I just wanted to dispel any thinking that any of the ACE staff is "so vain" that they need to send their photo along with each email. Our business cards are built into our default signatures and go out will all emails automatically.

Have a great day!

HI everybody, I am new to mystery shopping (2 months now) and I just recently signed up with Ace but I have not accepted any assignments from them yet because I am concerned with the way they pay. Most companies I am familiar with use PayPal or will do direct deposit, but Ace uses something called PayQuicker (???) I am not familiar with it at all. Can anybody give me a heads up on this way of paying and tell me about the company Ace.

If you do a search for PayQuicker - changing the date to "all dates" - you will get a lot of discussion about it. ACE is a nice company with super nice folks. I worked for them for a couple of years but I have not accepted any assignments since they went to PayQuicker because that is currently their only method of payment. Some have posted that they chose to open a PayQuicker account and are comfortable with it.
PayQuicker works likd PayPal. You set up an account and they notify you when they've transferred the money. I have mine linked to a checking account and transfer it out from PQ same as PayPal. I believe you can also request a debit card. There are no fees charged to you for transferring to an account. It is simple and painless. I don't do too many shops for ACE, but found them to be fair and they pay reliably.

ACE is fine. No problems as so far. Comparing to Troy Dolan Group :paradise.
I used to be staunchly in the "ACE is Great" group. Not any more. They are apparently making changes that are NOT shopper friendly. A few months ago I signed up for a shop and for the date, I put in Tuesday's date for a DINNER shop. In the comments I put the Tuesday special at the particular restaurant as the reason. This restaurant does not open until around 10:30 or 11:00 am. Early on Tuesday (7/8 am) I get an email saying my shop is overdue. What? How is that possible? So, I go onto ACE's website and do the live chat. The person I got treated me like I was an imbecile. Stating how my shop was overdue and that's all there is to it. How can it be overdue when I put in today's date and the restaurant isn't even open yet? He had no explanation for that. Instead he just threatens me with "noting my account" so I can't do these shops anymore. I couldn't believe it. I have done probably 30 or 40 or these shops and only 1 was ever late and that was by 45 minutes. It was due at midnight and I submitted it at 12:45. I haven't done one since and don't know if I will. We are craving the food from this place, so I guess I will have to go on my own dime.
I like ACE.. not too many jobs right now in my area but they have been accommodating and reasonable.

I hope I am not too late to join in on PayQuicker. Creid2, I work in Accounting at ACE, and will be happy to answer any questions for you that I can.

One of the many reasons we have chosen PayQuicker to pay our shoppers and office staff is because they are FDIC-insured. This means that your funds are more secure than through Paypal or other services. They do have to verify your identity, and sometimes this frightens people a bit. You really have to think of them as a bank. If you were to open an account at the bank down the street, they would require identification so that they can make sure you really are who you say you are, and are not someone trying to steal another person's identity. The US Treasury requires every FDIC-insured institution to make these verifications, and sometimes it takes a little more information than others.

Their support team has been great to us and our shoppers, and we here in the office have no complaints.

I personally am committed to making sure that everyone who successfully completes a shop for ACE receives the compensation that they are due. So feel free to call us, chat us, or email us for *any* payment problem.

do you have problems with Troy dolan group? I don't...just wondering...
I just registered with ACE and my registration process had an issue, but it was fixed on their end right away after I notified them. I had filled out the extended profile, including a detailed writing sample, and submitted it. But when I went back onto the site to see if my registration was on file, I kept getting an error message saying I needed to complete my extended profile! Well, I didn't have time to fill that whole thing out again and input another writing sample (unfortunately I didn't keep a copy of it--lesson learned....). I e-mailed them and explained the situation, and asked if they were able to recover my submission on their end. I got a nice e-mail back in a short time, stating they had fixed the problem. Which they had, so I'm "good to go." They have a restaurant-chain client with a location not five minutes from me, and open shops this month. But, although the reimbursement limit is very good (two of us wouldn't be able to reach the limit if we tried!), the pay is just $5.

I've gotten to the point with mystery shopping that I need to be paid for the time I spend doing the report, not just comped for the meal. I hope they have shops in my area that pay more, or that they will up their pay rate. I'd love to do a shop for them, but not for $5....

ACE just upped the pay on a restaurant shop near me (not by much, but enough to possibly "incentivize" me, since the reimbursement is so good, the place is 5 minutes away, and we've been wanting to go there anyway), so I'm thinking about taking it.

This is a sports-bar dining shop. If anyone has done one of these for them, can you give me any feedback on the report? It says there are 98 questions! Any narrative? I can't seem to find a report preview so I can see what they ask, and the shop instructions are not very detailed.

Report deadline is midnight of the day you do the shop. I have to go to work early the next morning and really can't be up until 11 p.m. inputting the report!

TIA for any input!

I have done the report as there are several of the sports bar locations here. The report is not a bad report. Although there is a narrative after each section, the writing requirements are not demanding and the amount of information you are required to capture is quite relaxed (no timings, etc). I have not done the shop in a 18 months or so. Although I like ACE quite a lot, I have not worked for them since they began to have PayQuicker as their only method of payment. At some point, I may be willing to get a PayQuicker account, but not now. Your comment that the reimbursement is so good makes me wonder if it is a different sports bar, because I was unimpressed with the reimbursement. Two drinks and two meals were required and the reimbursement was $30 which did not generally cover our expenses unless we went at lunch. Maybe the reimbursement is higher now. We also did not care much for the sports bar itself - we found the food to be mediocre and it was a poor second (or third) to other sports bars as far as atmosphere. They post the menu online so you can look and see what is available and what the prices are.
Thank you, AustinMom! That info is very helpful.... Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to take this shop this month, but will keep my eyes out for it next month!

They reimburse up to $50 on this shop, so it sounds as if they've upped that or it may be a different sports bar (but I bet it's the same). You have to order a drink at the bar, and wings are mandatory, but they say you can order them as an appetizer OR an entree. I checked the menu online, and $50 would cover dinner for two. The place sounds similar to a chain I shop for another company, with a similar sort of menu, but the reimbursement for that other shop is nowhere near Ace's! So, even if the food turns out not to be so good, at least the cost is covered, plus a little bit for the report. Anytime I can get a dinner out for free, I'm happy! LOL....

Fifty would definitely cover two meals and drinks at the sports bar I am thinking of. The food was not bad, just not wonderful. And they had special events on different nights, like poker night one night and trivia night on another night. We never did that but it looked fun. It would be a great date night, or whatever, with free meal. And the report wouldn't keep you up all night.
