Hhhmmm, I think you must've done something wrong. They've always paid me just fine.
Same here. They are a company I always check for jobs when I am headed in the direction where I know they usually have them. Payments are prompt and I have never had one questioned or any request for clarification. Did you find out what was wrong with the job/report jimntx3? We all goof from time to time and we grow and benefit by finding out what we did wrong.
Ace is certainly far from a scam. Their assignments are straight-forward and their report forms are very clear. They don't ask a lot of questions and they pay on time. I have never had a question about a report or a problem getting paid. I've done numerous shops over a long time period with no problems. This is a company I would recommend without reservation.
I have a done a lot of shops for ACE and never had a problem with them. I do 1 or 2 shops a month for them. They pay quickly and the reports I have done for them are short and sweet.
I find them a no nonsense company that is willing to help if you mess up...the first job I did for them last summer, was a little confusing, they asked me to qualify something, I did and all was good. They are fair and a substancual MSC. You do need to look at your end of it, and admitting or seeing a mistake makes you a better shopper....don't be afraid to communicate.

Live consciously....
I do the cell phone shops for them and have never had a problem. They pay quick, the reports are small and they work with you on scheduling if you need it.
Hi jimntx3,

If you would like to send me a private message with your name (first and last) and the city/state of the assignment you completed I can help you out.

Deva, he/she doesn't seem to visit the forum often. Perhaps you can PM him/her with your offer. Certainly when we asked what reason there was for non-payment there was no response, so hard to tell if he/she has ever returned to the thread.
Thanks so much!! I wish I had seen this sooner but just realized my notifications from this group were going to my junk folder. :-(

Today is February 29th 2011. I am here to tell you that Ace Mystery Shopping is a scam. They sent me my check alright and then I almost went to jail for trying to cash a fake check!!!!!!
ACE Mystery Shopping is most definitely NOT a "Scam".

What happened is you fell for the typical "we'll send you a huge enormous check, and you cash it, keep 200 for your effort, and WIRE us the money."

WIRE and WESTERN UNION is the equivalent of scam. It's all over the internet and the news anymore, I just don't understand how people still fall for these!

Hi Burned. You were obviously messed up with a scam that was using the Ace Mystery Shopping name. It is happening with unfortunate frequency that the scammers use the name or a variant of it to contact folks with no shopping background, send them a large check prior to doing any work and offering them generous pay for a couple of jobs, one of which is wire transferring money away. This is NOT how any legitimate mystery shopping company works.

Ace Mystery Shopping is a legitimate company and you can register to work with them at www.acemysteryshopping.com. Once accepted as a shopper you can request or self assign jobs. You perform them per instructions and get them reported in a timely fashion. A month to 6 weeks later you will get paid and many of their jobs pay a fee of around $15. You will have to open an account with PayQuicker to get paid by them, which is a PITA in and of itself, but being a pain is not the same as being a scam.
Do your homework before you call a legit co a scam. When you post many people will see it. We have all been doing this a long time.
Hi Burned13.

What you described sounds like the common Western Union scam where the real scammers will try to use legitimate company names in hopes that people will fall for this stunt. Most companies have a disclaimer on their website that these checks are NOT from them. ACE is only one of the many companies who've had their names used like that.

I can tell you, just as the shoppers have verified, that ACE was not behind what happened to you. I'm an editor for the company and I've worked with them since the early 2000s, for the most part. I've met the owners and schedulers personally and, although we're in different states, I talk to them on a weekly basis.

Just please be careful when you get stuff like that in the mail. You can contact your local post office and they can instruct you on how to submit the evidence to them. Using the post office to commit a crime is a federal offense, so if they can get caught, then they'll face serious charges. Quick action on our part helps but these scammers are sneaky. First clue that the offer is a scam: you're given money to perform a job you didn't request. Second clue: it's an obscene amount of money for minimal effort. Be careful not to fall for their tricks.
You should give the another shot. My scheduler, Jamie, is so awesome to work with and very prompt to answer any questions. I have only had great experiences with them. I have found that eventually, you will have a bad experience or two with really good companies. Don't get discouraged about this one bad time.
Thank you so much, Amie! That is so nice of you to say! smiling smiley

You really should remove your home phone and email.
Maggymae - Getting on a thread on this forum is not the best way to contact a mystery shopping company, although someone may possibly respond to you.

You need to go online to their website. If you have a shop scheduled with them, it will show up on your assignments page. Also, you can probably find toll free contact numbers so you can call someone, and an email address so you can send them questions by email.

At the bottom of each page of this forum, there is a list of shopping companies and their web addresses. You can use this list to sign up with a lot of companies and get more work. After you sign up with a company, you can check your assignments on their web site.

Mary Davis Nowell. Based close to Fort Worth. Shopping Interstate 20 east and west, Interstate 35 north and south.
I've signed up with them, but never done an assignment. With Deva's concern, maybe I should start. Seem like a class act.
I love one of their shops so much, that I'm not shopping it when we drive 100 miles to drop off my husband's kids. Just wish I could do the shop more often!
I've never had any problems with them... My reports have been accepted without comment from the editors and I've been paid on time.
