Yes, it happens frequently, but the best way to handle it is to use the "opt out" option. If you do that for shops in which you're not interested, the emails won't come.
You can also set up email filters/rules that will automatically delete any emails that come from that domain's email and include certain unique keywords. Since I don't have kids, I do this with some companies who send notices for shops at child-centric clients. Just choose your criteria carefully or you might end up throwing the baby out with the bathwater, so to speak. 
This company has been sending me emails daily. I never shopped for them.
Are you registered though? I know that recently, they've been sending a lot of emails out about a shop that is not posted on the board. (Which, by the way, I've done more than once.)
As to the electronic store audits, they are on a rotation. Some stores are shopped every other month, others are only once a quarter.
The store in my little berg, will not be up for rotation for another month, but I can not do it because of the rotation. You can not do two in a row at the same store.
The other person who does the store on the months that I don't, will drive 45 miles one way, use the entire 8 hours per day allotted. ( so their day is really a 10 hour day).
I can go in and have most of it done (without the paper work) in one day, but they require you to do two days. (hour long coffee breaks, 2 hour lunches.. it works for me).
I could take the 3 stores 45 miles from me, do them over a period of two weeks, make a nice little pay check, but 12 hour days are not on my list of things to do. I like to have a little down time,

I get a whole lot of emails. I am not interested in the electronics audit. Too low for amount of time on pay. They want to qualify with tests at no pay.
I spoke to my scheduler at GFK. She said if the emails don't come from her directly I can just delete them, as they are a mass email.
Seriously, just use the "opt out" option. They'll stop coming for the shops in which you're not interested.
I do a number of shops for them, they do pay quickly and are easy to work with. I have also gotten frequent bonuses and their questionnaires arent too bad. I think they are a pretty good company, and I can always delete extra emails...
I hadn't shopped for them in years, one of the first I started with. I am absolutely barbarged with the email Kittybrat mentioned above, so, I checked it out. There is one VIN job for an upscale retail store. Here's the kick, you have to go over and do an evaluation of several Associates, purchase a very expensive item (over 500.00)...the store is 60 miles rd. trip from me (I do work there when doing a run), they are NOT paying you for this first job, however, "if" you pass your then entitled to do the jobs for the $45.00 fee. This is a two part job, P/R two trips, are they kidding. I really want to accept, then flake, then de-active.

Irene, so don't do it. If it were 60 miles away from me, neither would I. However, what you are saying is not really correct. It's not that you aren't "paid" for the purchase, it's just that they put the shop payment on the return VIN. And the purchase does not have to be OVER $500, but it's true that they want you to come as close to it as possible. That is typical of what the suggested purchase items cost.
The purchase part of the form is long, but there is not a lot of narrative at all. The return portion takes just a few minutes to fill out, not involved at all.

NT...of course I won't do it, I did "opt out", only to find the same job listed about twelve times...so, opting out of the first one, I got an email saying I am accepted to do the second one. You need to opt out of all of them, ridiculous.
My sister just retired from that store in San Francisco, I am very familiar with it, we used to shop there, of course with her 30% discount plus on sale. She worked in finer apparal, however I'm not sure which dept. you need to purchase at since there are different depts to be evaluated. I'm sure once you get into it, it's fine, but they really make you jump through loops. Can you return the same day, I thought it said 2 day wait, which would make my mileage 120, not "only" 60. I am feeling this company is trying to confuse you...I do this type of shop monthly, know it and resent having to do the VIN for free. Really makes me nuts!!

The purchase department varies from assignment to assignment (per shopper, not per round). There is one department that is shopped where you couldn't even buy something for $500 if you tried. Yes, it's a 48 hour return.

But if it were 60 miles even only one-way, I wouldn't do it! This shop is usually scheduled far enough in advance so that I can often schedule another one in the same area, which is another reason I don't mind doing it. The last time I did it, I was able to do another $15 shop on each day, so $75 makes it worth it to me.

I'll stick with NSS, when I do a return for them, they pay for each part...$30.00 isn't 45.00, but then you only do one dept. I just didn't like the trying to get one for free out of a shopper.

Irene, you are entitled to your opinion, and to choose what shops you do, but you really don't know what you're talking about when it comes to this shop. If you did, you wouldn't say that they're trying to "get one for free". I have no problem with anyone not wanting to do this shop for any reason, but that assertion is incorrect.
NT...are we talking about the same shop. The instructions clearly say the first shop is not paid for, it is a test to see if you qualify to do the shops. I have gotten over 3 emails daily for this and looked into it...

They have big box electronic shops and they want you to pay for a drug test and background check and after you do 2 evaluations, they supposedly reimburse you (but they are vague as far as how often evaluations happen).
They keep emailing me for these $150 bank/mortgage-related shops, where you have to read 3 novels of paperwok and jump through various unpaid hoops to be approved to do the shop. I glanced over it and decided they should pay me the $150 just for their pre-approval process. LOL

The paperwork on the loan shop wasn't bad. It isn't a difficult shop, just one with a lot of details they must provide because there are so many federal regulations.
I would much rather do a big one like this than do fifteen $10 assignments, driving all over the place, then doing fifteen repetitive reports. With this one, I don't even have to leave my house.
