I find the Marketforce job search to be very odd. When I expand my job search to a 200 miles radius instead of my specified 50 mile radius I find not only farther away jobs but jobs very close to home and well within the 50 miles. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yup. That's fairly commonly known. I remember someone telling me to do that when I started shopping. I don't know why it works, but it does!

I stopped shopping with them because they cut the fastfood shops from me. No reason..I know it happened before for three months because I cancelled one on a deadline. Made sure I didn't do that again but 6 months later I was cut completely. I decided it's not worth it plus that was the most shops in my list. I'm in Va..Hampton Roads

To those of you that have had your shopping privileges removed by Marketforce, if you care to have them restored, I would suggest a phone call. My privileges have been cut off twice (and restored) but in both cases by MF incompetence, not because of any error on my part.

Yes, I have seen a major decrease the last couple of months. I e-mailed them but have to admit their responses on e-mails needs some adjustment. The response I received did not answer my question but just stated how there system works. Two days later I saw a large influx of jobs on their board. I think they are just late in posting especially the burger shops. I used to see 40 available or more and now see 3 or 4.

Well I am glad they took the FF shops from me, it's 2 meals less that I have to worry about getting "fat" over.

But I do wonder where their tax shops are. I used to get my taxes done thru them but now I don't see any tax shops. What's up with that? Anybody know of a other MSC that does taxes? Pass them my way.

Sojo, the tax shop came and went in my area.

The Marketforce board here is weighed down with them and they just don't seem to go away.

Yes, those tax shops are a huge part of the board in the DC metro area and don't seem to be going away. Maybe no one here is getting a refund?

The banks are dominating now with tax refunds. This month the ff shops went fast and the pay was the sameas last year.(SW Mi)

There are almost nothing but bank shops in my radius, of whatever miles or zip searched. The shop types are noted as "banking", not tax prep.

In my area MF has retail, fast Casual, Grocery, Wireless Retail, and Fast Food in addition to the Banking.

I noticed about a month ago the number of available shops on the purple side of MF were way down. It makes life easier for me as I'm not tempted to take these way underpaid jobs. I do merchandising more than mystery shopping, that is really underpaid by MF>

I will say tho, they were the first company I worked for when I started again about a year ago. Since then I haven't any idea how many companies I've worked for. If you get your name listed on NAARMS and profile complete with resume, you WILL get calls. I hadn't heard from anyone from that referral for months and a couple of weeks ago I had two in one week! So reister with NAARMS if you haven't yet. also if you haven't tried merchandixing, give it a try. No having to be secret about it. I especially like to get regular assignments that I can plan on certain days to do. Makes life and travel easier.

Any comments?

I was one of the many who got told by MF last August that we were no longer average customers. We were told that we were either too easy or too hard (yes, we were one or the other but not told which), nor were the clients identified.

After feeling very bad at the time, I have found that I actually make more money each month without MF. MF tended to post shops fairly far in advance, and I would snap them up. That meant that I had to pass up a lot of others. I am doing less shops for more money since then. At first, I thought it was the end of the year rush, but it has continued into this year. I am now up to 6 low-4-digit dollar months in a row (and those digits are to the left of the decimal place), including this month which is barely half done. I do not make a living doing MSing, and this is very much a part-time activity for me, so I am quite pleased.

So, for all of you who have been dropped by MF for being "too hard or too easy", what has your experience been?

Wow. I thought it was just me. I'm actually saving money on gas by not doing so many shops for MF. Second-to-None now has some very interesting opportunities.

I have been doing Marget Force for quite a while. They have kept me the busiest. During this month it seems everything is banking with a few other shops thrown in. When they get close to a shop deadline, they call me and if it is too far and I refuse, they increase my fee. All in all, there just doesn't seem to be a lot of shops anywhere this month.

I've noticed this too! I thought it was because I missed a couple of 12-hour deadlines for fast food shops last month. Good to know I'm still in good standing with MarketForce. They don't always pay as well as I'd like, but usually their selection, flexibility, and ease of use make them a good company to use

Yes in my area too, not too many shops except bank shops.
