IMPORTANT - READ THIS IF YOU ARE WAITING FOR ATH PAYMENT

No, it's not yet another thread about slow pay. I just got a check for my December shops.

The thing is, the return address says Bill.com Payment Operations, Palo Alto, CA, and across the top PAYMENT ENCLOSED.

In other words, no indication on the envelope that it's from Ath, and in fact looks like one of those phony "checks" a car dealership or credit card company sends. I can very easily see someone just ripping it up and throwing it away without even opening it.

In fact, I very nearly did just that when my curiosity got the better of me.

Just a heads up for all who are waiting on an Ath check to arrive

Oh, no..I may have thrown it out! I will have to call them on Monday. Thanks for the heads up. And after waiting all this time for the $200!
I noticed that too when I received mine. I found it odd to write payment enclosed across the front. I don't trust my postal lady or neighbors. I also thought it looked like junk mail at first.
The last one I received I thought they were just using 'bill pay' on their bank account so they wouldn't even need to pay postage. I wondered if they could get any cheaper, but it looks like they found a way. That also allows them to blame the bank if you don't get your check.
I still haven't gotten anything. Actually the only folks who have paid me is Feedback Plus!

Has anyone had problems with Sentry Marketing Group. Did I miss putting them on my don't work for list? I did a shop that cost me 20.00 with a shop fee o 5 and I sent it in the morning after (within time limits) and then I got a "panic" email from the scheduler tellng if I didn't get it in that day there would be no pay.
Well, I sent in AGAIN, and then I emailed to make sure she got it, and I have had no answer, plus the shop is not on my shop history page. I think I just got my first rip off!!!

THAT IS SENTRY MARKETING GOUP!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the heads up, I saw he offer, and I will email him, but I alo offered to "go public" with the issue since it would be a fair situation for boh of us. We will see.
OK FOLKS, here is the update on my experience with Sentry Marketing.

Dave came through just as he said he would. I emailed him and I received a telephone call (points, he could have emailed me back) from him right away.

He asked me some questions and he explained some things to me. The end result is that he appears to me to be on the up and up. I think he cares alot about his company and his business and his own reputation as well.

I think he needs to stop being so defensive, BUT he also needs to listen to the people on this forum. His reply in my opinion should be (having owned many businesses in my life time) "I see there is a problem reported here. If you will contact me I will address the issue as soon as I hear from you."

I think that is what he did with my issue. There were good explanations for everything and neither he nor I was at fault. The issue was resolved with full understanding between everyone. In future I will make a call to the appropriate people before I give my opinion here. SOME things you just have to learn from experience!!!

That being said. He is very strict about reports, I understand he wants an extrememly professional company to present to his clients and I think he knows the value of the shoppers.

I think his excellent training modules should address the differences between his company and the other MSC. In a more emphasized way. For instance, his training says they want just objective comments with NO QUOTES like the other companies want us to do. His company wants a picture described in minute or almost minute detail. I think he should have only experienced shoppers work for him, though I am not sure that is realistic.

After I see how they pay, and if that is ok, then I would not hesitate to work for SEntry Marketing again in the future. Come on folks let's be fair. Dave hit some sentivie spots with some of us, but he like anyone deserves a second chance. So I say let's give it to him! What do ya say?
I received my check from ATH Power and was also wondering about the bill.com. At first, I was wondering what is going on. I had just emailed the scheduler about my December payment not being received. I looked up bill.com and it is a bill paying service. See below. Nothing to worry about.

Your day-to-day business finances. Your life. Simplified.
Bill.com streamlines and automates your business bill payment and invoicing processes.

Managing bill payment and invoicing for your business takes more time and energy than you think. It takes you away from what matters most in your business... and your life. By digitizing processes that are paper-based, time-consuming and error-prone, Bill.com is helping small and mid-sized businesses save over half of the time and cost of paying their bills and getting paid.

From bill receipt to remittance and from invoice to collections, Bill.com simplifies the entire bill-paying and invoicing process — eliminating tedious data entry and giving you anytime, anywhere access to your financials. All with complete control and security.

experienced shoppers would never register for a shop that cost them $20 and a pay of 5.00 in my opinion that would be signing up for a shop because you have nothing else to do, and do not need your own money ( the $20 you spent). I was going through this thread while at a friend of mine's company, she she nearly fainted when she I read that your pay was $5 dollars and you spent 20 for the company. ( my lunch went a little in my throat too) She wondered if mystery shoppers were "special" people that were being taken advantage..ouch..you really made, after it is all said and done, .25 per hour if you include the time and the effort to get the "money" you "earned" and the loan you gave them the ($20)... and the actual shop. Dave (and any company that can get you to work for free for them like this) thinks your a fool, could you blame him..of course he'd never admit this...
I believe in this case the shopper was reimbursed the $20 plus the fee of $5.

OK Brandy,
Either you have never done mystery shopping, or you have information that the rest of us don't know about (maybe those $150 an hour jobs we keep hearing about?)
I am not going to go into detail about what I think mystery shopping is because someone like you will only argue or shake your head and think "what an idiot!"
You imply you are an experienced shopper, well what IS your experience? Maybe instead of critisizing and insulting others it would be a greater service to educate us.
That's my response.
