I got this email...and I responded to her. I got back a link for a very simple "report," which wants copies of the front and back of the purchased gift card uploaded. The copy of the back of the card is to have the pin code revealed. I write to Tiffany and said this sounded fishy. My having the pin code and the copies of the front and back of the gift card, couldn't anyone use the card for an online purchase, and then I would have been scammed. I did check - Market Analytics is a real company. Thoughts?

Anyone can sue anyone for anything. Winning is another matter.
The first question you'd be asked is how CTCSS is responsible for your damages. A judge would scoff at, "They didn't email people after the fact."

The first clue should have been, "shop your nearest CVS location". If this was a shop CVS wanted there would have been a list of locations to choose from. Then the fact that it was a $200 gift card. This type of thing is a known scam, something the judge would also tell you.

I'm sorry you were scammed. Next time do all the research you did after the fact about tracing IP addresses, beforehand.

No court will hear your case and rule in your favor. You could only sue the scammers, which were not CTCSS. Save your money.

You aren't charge on a small claims suit unless you win. (I have already talked to an attorney on this) What are we all suppose to do. Count these scams as lost causes, and let them get away with it laughing all the way to the bank? What if this scammer was a fired disgruntled employee from CTCSS??? Ever thought of that? Yes, I agree, chances are slim to none on getting your money back, or even winning a lawsuit. But if more diligent people would go after these types of scammers, and get laws changed to where it would be easier for them to get caught and prosecuted, then maybe we can reduce these flesh eating criminals in the world. Other then that, they will face judgement someday in a higher court in heaven for sure.

Talk to an attorney. Like most people post, who think we were stupid on falling for the scam, say we probably won't win, or should have known it was a scam to begin with. But people need to band together to stop these criminals. Laying down and playing dead, only gives them more power to do it again.

Report to the police and to IC3. Unless you have proof of who scammed you (which is why you go to the cops and to IC3, to find out) there is no one for you to sue.

Already done that. Also EBAY, Amazon, etc. I'm on top of it.

IF you find out who the scammers are, let us know. Until then, a lawsuit is impossible.

I did call up a class action law suit top attorneys office and gave them all the information. They said they would get back to me, but probably would be best fit in small claims court, unless many people got hit on this, and it may have been like I said, "possibly an inside job, from a disgruntled employee from one of those two places the scam was trying to imitate" One never knows, unless a thorough investigation is done. Fingerprints are left everywhere in this world now, from where you go. It isn't like it use to be years ago. If it is a lost cause, then so be it. But sound the drums, blow the trumpets, do something to either catch the culprits, or have God do his own dealings with them. CTCSS and that Market Analytics need to do their part big time in trying to catch them, since they are the targets of where the scam came from of course.
