Why are we accepting shops that pay $4

That is true too. I am in the Midwest and we were/are continuing to be hit by 20 inches of snow. I normally don't mind snow driving, but they have issued a State of Emergency here, so I did a few phone shops this morning.

Knowledge is power. I would have benefited from finding this site before I signed up for my first MSC. I am still new to Mystery Shopping. I have taken a few low paying shops. It got old quick.

Especially when my report was graded low. I was disgusted when I considered I was nearly not paid for a low paying shop. It's not worth it in turns of time, expense and the potential BS.

I found this forum before I was committed to taking low paying shops. I check my 2 MSC companies everyday for the best paying shops. I make enough money each week being patient. I am able to finance my electronic toy addiction via QVC, ShopNBC and HSN. I'm satisfied.

I would like to join a few other MSCs but I can't get assigned being a newbie. Still, I won't take the low fees. I'll wait.
Hi royalnbn. Finding this forum can be a huge benefit to anyone who is seriously interested in building their mystery shopping business. Knowledge is power, indeed. Hopefully, as you're reading the different sections, you'll pick up tips from others' experiences. The first suggestion I have for you, after reading your post, is to find the list of MSP's on this forum and add many more to the 2 you currently shop with.

You said "I would like to join a few other MSCs but I can't get assigned being a newbie." Work at establishing yourself and building your reputation. Start by applying, and accepting a job regardless of pay. Do the job, on time, according to guidelines, and prove yourself. Doors will open.
I don't do the gas shops in the metro area until they are between $6-$8. I take them then because if I don't, someone else will. I can do 10 a day easily and work other shops around them while I do them. They will never make it to $15 so I take them when they get "hot" and start disappearing. The ones outside the metro area are saved for routes out into the state. Then I see $12-$25 and even as much as $35 once per gas station. I can do these in my sleep now. And, the best thing is I can do them without staying on my feet too long at one time. So there is a method to my madness and strategy involved in my acceptance of the gas shops at a lower fee.

1. I take the metro area ones when they start to disappear anyway.
2. I save the "boonie" stations until they go up.
3. I need the money from shops I can do with little physical exertion.
4. I've done so many of these that I can do them quickly.

Butttttttt. I still won't do one for $3.00. lol I will drive past the same station over and over, knowing it's on the job board, but won't stop for it until they pay me more.

Anybody who takes an ADA shop or big box hardware store for $4.00 is really hard up. Those shops are hard! I do both from a scooter and the ADA one is harder because I have to get the scooter into a restroom and the fitting room. The doors are heavy in the restrooms and the fitting rooms generally just had the layaway department dumped in front of them. I've actually had to climb the piles with my cane to get to the fitting rooms. Also, the aisles are so packed this time of year I keep getting the cart trapped behind merchandise. I won't take these shops now until they are upwards of $15. The big box hardwares are getting a bit easier, but I don't like all the narrative in the reports. Pffffftttt on $4.00. lol

I'm also not going to carry something big and bulky around a bedding store for 20 minutes waiting for someone to ask me if I want a cart. Pffffffftttttttt on $5.00 too!
