DON'T work for these people - INTELLISHOP

I have MANY times recently gotten a review that said " we deducted one point because we did not have to contact you for more information."

And YES, I typed that correctly,
Honestly I don't care if its an 8, 9 or 10- as long as I am paid. I have never asked them to explain why they deducted a point for not contacting. Its a no win situation. I just don't care.

I don't understand their grading but I don't care as long as they pay me. I do my best and I don't know how to do better unless they provide better guidance. I'm happy if they're happy.

Well said!

I don't do those Brake shops anymore. The one I did was not a problem for me or for Intellishop but the Brake shop told me all sorts of things were wrong with my car and gave me an estimate of a few hundred to fix those. I took my car directly to my regular service mechanic and there was nothing wrong. That was not the fault of Intellishop and they were nice about my report. I love doing the oil change shops. Well worth the time and the report.
Your experience is not unique and is the reason there has been a push to video for these types of clients. With my old car I would do these frequently across several brands and for each visit there was a different set of problems with estimates ranging from $300 to $1200.

I just did a shop on Labor day. The shop was rejected because the cashier logged my dine in order as take out???? REALLY??? Like I have any control over how the cashier rings up my order? First of all, I was never asked if it was dine in or carry out; and second, I did the drive through portion of the shop exactly 30 minutes after - do they really think I did a carry out, sat in my car in 100+ degree weather and then did a drive through?

This is the second time they have found something in a report of mine that got my shop rejected. I am done.

Hi, Laurie, welcome to the forum. Please use the "edit" button at the bottom of your post to edit and remove the client name from your post. Revealing the names of clients of the mystery shopping companies violates our posting guidelines and the confidentiality agreement we all signed with this mystery shopping company.

Sorry to hear that you had a shop rejected. Did you cover the discrepancy in your report? When I notice the cashier at one of these shops has done something wrong (i.e., ringing my order up as "Take Out" when it was actually "Dine In," I say in my report - and sometimes I repeat it multiple times "Although I ordered my meal as Dine In and I was served my food on a tray and I ate in the dining room, the receipt generated by the cashier shows "Take Out." So far, by telling them up front that something was wrong because it was done wrong, I have never been denied payment on one of these cashier mistakes. Knock on wood!
I also will check the time if there is a specific window and comment on that. I have seen receipt times off by a couple of hours.

Once I had two shops for MF at locations twenty minutes apart. I did one, made a stop in between, and then went to the second. The receipt times were three minutes apart. I commented on one shop, but there was no place on the other, so a note to help desk. Those are all things to glance at because some companies will reject first and the you need to fight for your pay.
The thing I like about most about this MSC is they allow you to self assign. When you have to wait days for a scheduler to accept a shop you apply for, you could have filled up your schedule with other shops and become too time constricted. What I don't like about this MSC: They take far too long to pay you. My shops have been saying "marked for payment" for weeks now and I have only been paid for one shop. And I am in complete agreement that the reviewers are ridiculous. And the bottom line is, they are cheap! I have yet to see one shop listed that pays more than $25. Most are under $15. I refuse to do most reimbursement shops, and won't do any for a company that takes 60 days to pay! Insane.
Ok, good advice. I did mention in my report that the cashier did not interact with me, but I should have been more emphatic about the ramifications of the lack of interactions.

I have never had an issue with times being off, I did have an issue for another company where I was supposed to do a shop which required a particular drink, which I ordered, and the cashier rang up something different. I explained that in my report and was not penalized for the issue.
I pretty much only do their oil change shops these days. I have done some car dealerships but I always wait until they are bonused to $30 or more. I have been shopping with them since 2003 and have done 152 shops for them. Their editors do not always explain why they grade the way that they do, that's my only beef with them, but after 152 shops I still managed to keep my 10 average though I have gotten 8s and 9s from time to time. I guess I have been lucky to not encounter the same issues that some other people have.
So many oil change shops.. I wish I could do them but I don't own a car!

Marijaldm, what? You reviewed the wrong car model and still get paid? And you are griping because you got an "8" ?

I did a bonused valet shop. Instead of turning in the ticket upon departure, I claimed I lost the ticket, as the conflicting instruction said. One said standard and another instruction imbedded in the document said to claim to lost the ticket. Anyway, I did that, and the scheduler refused to pay me whatsoever.

I am done with Intelli-shop, nasty schedulers. Too bad, I have been with them for a long time. I have so many commendations with "+" pluses. Then, with one new, nasty scheduler named Jenna, I am done with that company.

For me the schedulers are fine, it's the editors that I'd rather not deal with.

Other than the fact their shops don't usually have a very high fee, I've never had a problem with Intelli-shop. I'd probably shop for them more if a) their shops had a higher fee and b) they weren't so narrative heavy (especially for what you get paid). I did once recently because it was bonused so that it pays $47. Normally, though, I pass up their shops because the amount of narrative required isn't worth the shop fee amount for me.
I pick up their shops whenever the bonus amount gets to be what I consider a realistic amount for the work involved.

If I get the report in on time (by the end of the month), I get paid about the 20th of the following month.

I just wish they had more bonus shops in my area.

I don't really have a problem with them I just wish that they would provide a writing sample if they are going to be so critical of the writing. One editor wants it one way the other editor wants it another way and then when you get your score they sometime tell you that they have deducted but they don't really say why or offer any input on improvement.

I love this company. I work with several, but this one is my favorite. There a a couple of assingners that have given me their personal cell number so if I have trouble or questions out of business hours so I can call them. They go out of their way to assist me if they can. One even was sending me emails while on vacation even with her automated out of office reply. When a call didn't record she called the recording people to try to salvage it before being unable to use my shop. I've only gotten below an eight one time...and that was the unrecorded shop. Most are nines or tens. So what if it takes a while to get paid. I'll take that over uncaring shoddy assigners. They're understanding and do everything that can to be successful. I suppose some could have bad experiences but I'd say that would largely depend on the assingners.
I have to say something on their behalf. I recently did a competitor audit for them where I had to take pictures of menus for three competitor locations. The address on the shop for one location was wrong, way wrong, and took me ten miles out of my way, round-trip. I wrote to the scheduler mentioning the incorrect address (I figured it out and got the pictures I needed) and asked if I could be compensated for the additional ten miles I had to drive due to the error on the shop. I was given an additional few dollars for that so I thought that was pretty cool of them.

"I was given an additional few dollars"

Yeah, if it was Intelli-shop, it was literally just a FEW dollars.
Good example of frustration tolerance. I've had problems with some shops/companies where people have responded, "I've never had a problem with them." So what - that is not to say that problems don't exist or that some editors are just crazy.
Ragdollteddy, you may have had problems but I do not like that you posted, "Dont work for these people". Sorry, kiddo, I'll work for whomever that I want.

Maybe a different title on your post would have sufficed.
I have shopped many times for Intelli, only bonus shops. My last shop was very time consuming. I have no problem with the schedulers or payment. My biggest problem is with their editor specifically proofreader 4. A nightmare! Actually called me a liar!
And I hate their misleading email topics. Got one this evening "Fine Dining". Yeah, sure. Phone calls to the catering departments of upscale restaurants???? Just who is the liar, shopper8? I think it is intellishop and I deliberately name them with a lower case 'i' because they don't even deserve the respect of a capital letter.
After working with them for years I have learned that anything grde wise 7 or higher is fine. I have also learned to call or email and ask for a bonus on every shop you do. If you are reasonable you will usually get the bonus you want. They have started paying faster. I recommend them.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
I don't mind working for them. The joy of being a mystery shopper is you pick what shops work for you. So yes, I wait until the dealership shops get bonused but I don't mind working with them. I do email schedulers and ask for bonuses on shops I am on the fence about and you know what, they usually give me a good sized bonus! They do take a while to pay, but I know I am going to get paid at the end of the day.
I have done their oil change shops but I might look at the other company around here that does them because my car requires the synthetic and one company does not pay over the basic while the other pays for the full oil change.
Intellishop is who I am doing a route with right now that I am waiting for the the materials in the mail. I planned on doing it the first week of July because they told me the stuff would be her. Problems in mail shop pushed back a week. Still no items second week. Now I am just about to start the third week. I have not done any shops because I have one day a week to shop and I set that aside for the route because it would be a full day. Looks like it will be a full month for 5 shops. And they sent the otems regular parcel post, no tracking numbers.
I just did a car shop with this company. I have been doing a lot with intellishop the past couple of months. This is the FIRST shop I have gotten rated a 7. AND I have had 5 phone calls and three emails within 48 hours of this shop. I just got the fourth email today. I think I am taking a lot of flak from the car salesman to only get a 7 rating on this. Raises my eyebrows a bit.
I do quite a few shops for Intellishop and have never had any problems with them. Pay is low but most shops are easy.
I do quite a few with them. They are toward the top of my list as far as easiest to work with.
