A CLOSER LOOK - ODD SITUATION

They have some carryout pizza shops in my area that I like and that have generous reimbursements without a bunch of timings or other PITA details. The reports are pretty quick and easy.

Torste, you aren't the only one who likes the pizza shops. I take my mother once a month and go every rotation.
As for these pizza shops I always try and do when the day/month match: 1/1, 2/2, 3/3.......because on these days when you scan you app you get DOUBLE "Rewards" from this place making it easier to get to 10 and a free pizza. I am at 8 now, will get to 9 this weekend and I am going to 1 on 11/11 so I will surpass 10 and get a free pizza and might use it on that very same visit so my father and I can both get something.

BTW - the Brownies at this place are DIVINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Every time I go I get a pizza and Brownie and bring the latter home for my family to enjoy - and do they ever! By far the best thing they make. Take it home, crumble it up, heat it up for 15-20 seconds, put some Vanilla Ice Cream on top and maybe some Choc Sauce............and while you will gain weight it is sooooooooooooo worth it!

UGH. How did I not know this?!

I think it must depend on the region/scheduler. I have NEVER had that happen for their
DMV shops (District, MD and VA suburbs = DMV in local parlance.)

the scheduler just sent out an email to for their "desired" toy shop with stuff animals if we take those nasty pizza shops. I haven't received one of those emails in months but I guess since the stuffed animal shop is back in rotation the emails commence.

I had to laugh. The kids pizza shop and the "we over season everything with gross season salt" chain restaurant shops were paired this month. I can't remember which one was the "premium" but I don't want either of them.
There are two pizza shops in my area. One is a regular type pizza place where you order at a counter and tell them which toppings out of a smallish list you want...stuff like pepperoni, American olives etc. The other is the one where you go down a line and can put several pounds of gourmet toppings on if you like them. Neither of these are anything at all like New York pizza. I am from NY and these places do not even say they are like NY. In any case, yes the gourmet place is a bit of a pain and if you are looking for chain pizza and that is what you like do not go to this place. Their pizza is I would say comparable to calling Chipotle Mexican food. It has the look of chain pizza with a crust base just like chipotle has beans, rice and similar fillings but neither taste like the authentic real thing (as they are prepared in American restaurants that are Mexican/Pizza joints.. Both in my taste buds are delicious and worth the report. Too bad Chipotle is gone now
I am not a fan of the "difficult" shop chain at all. I've never done the shop but tried the pizza out on my own dime. No where near as good as some of the similar chains like Pieology

My father loooooooooooooooooves the pizza place they have so I do several per month. They are easy once you do them a few times. I can do them in my sleep now and in about 20 minutes, if that. I find they are easier to do if you start at the end and work your way forward. Because I do so many of those shops I can ask for many shops that are "premium" because when they ask me to do the pizza shop I do it or already did it.
What do you mean about starting at the end and working your way forward?

Instead of answering the Guest Service part first and then the 1-10 part, last - I flip it. I do the 1-10 part first and the Guest Service part, last. I find it easier to do it that way - for some strange reason

I enjoy this pizza chain as well. Their pizza is good, and I don't have to cook. I do between 5 to 7 per month depending on where I travel. Love them!

I'd go just for the Brownies. They are that dang good!

I don't understand why people hate their pizza shops so much. It's really delicious pizza, and now they pay a fee instead of reimburse only. I wish there were more of them in my area. The timings suck but my phone does all the work. Okay, taking a pic of the underside can be difficult, too, but not a deal breaker. Are we talking about the same ones?

Plus, I didn't think the pizza was anything great. There are so many wonderful pizzerias around here, that in fact, I thought it was really not good pizza...typical chain food.
Wow, I love the pizza, and mostly because they use high-quality ingredients. So many pizzerias use canned olives (gag) but this one uses kalamata olives, and sea salt, to name a few. I think they're yummy, and better than all the other assembly-line pizza places that have popped up around me. And that's saying a lot because most of them are pretty good. (And I am picky about pizza.)

The directions state that you can take the photo of the underside in the car or once you get home. I don't mind the timings, but I stress a bit about getting all the names. I'm a fan of their pizzas too!
I guess it depends on your taste. I prefer the authentic style NY Pizza that's gooey and smoothered in stretchy cheese and served piping hot.

I enjoy them as well. We have 2 in my area, and one is a bit of a drive, so I pick it up when I know I will be in that direction. I also request them when I travel. As someone else said, after doing them a few times, the report does not take all that long.
FYI........thru Friday they are now giving DOUBLE flames for every eligible purchase. And as they do every year, you now get a FREE pizza for every $25 you put on a gift card. The pizzas can be redeemed Jan 1- Feb 28. I usually put $200 on a card and give family the 8 free pizzas although now I might save them so I can take a guest with me and not be out of pocket for it. We don't get reimbursed for what we put on the card until we spend the money meaning it will take 16-17 visits to spend all $200 which stinks but now I can take family/friends with me and we can all enjoy a pizza.

Thanks for that info. I’ll be buying some gift cards
I'm still new and tried one of these a few weeks ago. I was a wreck trying to time everything. My system malfunctioned at one of the steps and threw my timing off for one timing. I like the pizza, but just way to stressful for me. Maybe with a few more months under my belt I'll go back and do it again. The closest one to me is about 30 min away, so only went because I was doing another shop nearby. Normally not worth the time to drive that far. But I did like the pizza!
The pizza shop definitely gets easier with each report. I go because my son adores the pizza and because the service is usually outstanding. A Closer Look is one of the best companies I work for. The schedulers are very accommodating when life interferes with shops and will go out of their way to help you.
This happened to me and I kindly responded back that their wording and business practices is what is turning people OFF to them and not wanting to do the hard to fill shops. As someone said - don't make me feel like a hostage.

The reports are easy. Once pix are loaded I can crank it out in well under 30 minutes. I just loaded $100+ on a gift card so I got a lot of free pizza coupons I can use Jan 1-Feb 28. I can't use them on my order but now I can take Dad or someone else and we don't have to spend money out of pocket for their pizza.
@nor999 Some suggest recording the entire transaction. Just turn on your phone's recorder on (or if you have any other recording device), and go through the line. Then listen to it later for the report. Makes it a lot easier and a lot less stressful.
ACL has a bad check printer...routing numbers and account numbers too faded to be read by your bank afgter you deposit them, or routing numbers printed on the perforation line...be careful....
Just a note to anyone who does not have a phone with a data plan. I do the pizza shop in more than one location. One of them has wifi so I take my tablet and use their wifi to get my rewards points. This location also has little cards with a code that you can input when you get home if your app does not work. The other location has neither wifi nor little code cards so no rewards for me there.. Be sure to ask if they have the little code cards so you too can be part of the rewards even without a wifi enabled phone. I finally scored my first free pizza. Sweet.
Mod note: Post removed as it breached the Forum guideline which states, "Do not reveal the clients of mystery shopping companies". Additionally, it is usually an ICA violation to name both the MSC and client.
I just cancelled my ACL profile after three years. The past year they've been horrible to deal with. I opted out of text messeges, so now some schedulers were calling. I've been hounded nonstop the past four months with local eye glass shops. A scheduler called last week, when I said I didn't wear glasses she hung up on me. The final straw was this past Monday. I received an email for a running shoe shop that had to be done that day. I'm an avid runner so I accepted the shop even though I had no notice. 30 minutes later the scheduler emailed saying I'll give you the shop if you do these other two shops as well. No thanks. I thought I was doing them a favor by offering to help them out last minute. Not a way to do business. I hope ACL clients read these pages so many better companies to deal with out there.
