Question about TrendSource

I have heard positive things about TrendSource but how do you get assignments. I have signed up as a Field Agent but I do not see a Job Board. Can someone please help me with this?

I don't think you are officially activated until you agree to complete an assignment. If there is a job in your area that needs done, and if none of the current Field Agents have taken it, someone will contact you. In my case, I got email. After I replied to the email saying I would do the shop, I could see the job board.

If you log into the trendsource website and put in your AGENT ID & PASSWORD, once in...to the left you will find "HOME"; MY ASSIGNMENTS; GET ASSIGNMENTS. Click under get assignments..where it says, REQUEST ASSIGNMENTS. That is where you will see RADIUS where you put your zip code in and 30 - 75 mile area. You will get available jobs within that area. Or you can choose CITY/STATE and indicate which city you are interested in working in. Good Luck!

This could differ by area and client; however, when I was new with Trendsource, I could not see a job board, shops were emailed. Crossed that hurdle, could see the shops, but could not self assign. It wasn't easy to get there from here, but I persevered

I don't know what the magic numbers are.

Elmer was on the money. If you have not completed a job for them, you have to wait for email invitations.

Once you have done one, you can see the job board, once you have completed 5 sucessfully, along with uploading the receipts and a copy of your DL/State ID, then you can self assign from the board.

I have not been asked for a copy of my DL.

Really? I had to upload mine before becoming "Premier", which allowed me to self-assign.
They state that there are a number of things you need to complete, and those include signing
up for DD and providing them with a photo ID.

My experience has been the same as Dee's. I seem to recall they specified the size the uploaded ID picture needed to be.

Nope, I don't remember having to do all that. But I was already signed up for DD by choice. My little stars just appeared by magic after I hit qualifying status.

Maybe it depends on how badly they need shoppers where you live (it took me a year of waiting to be offered a shop, then they had a HUGE project and I did five in just a few days) and when you signed up with them. I got assigned my first shop with them in May 2008. I did all this that they required after the first shop but before completing the five shops, once I did, the stars appeared and I just self-assign away.

I didn't have to wait too long for my first job from them, but I had to upload my DL when I applied.

I never had to upload an ID. I'm not even sure I would agree to do so either.

The requirement to upload an ID is the very first thing mentioned on the "Apply to Become a Field Agent" page.

They already know where I live and have my home phone number and SS number, so I'm not bothered they also have a (now expired) copy of my ID.

Trendsource is a good company. I appreciate how fair they are. Typically, if there is an issue with a shop and you plead your case, they did to lean with the shopper. I also like their clients and find the interface on their Web site easy and accessible to use.

There are hundreds of shoppers waiting to get shops from TrendSource. My understanding is that they do not activate your account unless they need shoppers in your area.

Last week I received a message that I had completed enough assignments to become a Premier Shopper. Once I activated that level I was immediately able to self assign projects. It is nice perk because you don't have to wait to be notified if you are approved for some of the shops. TrendSource is a good company to work with and their assignments go very quickly.

I did a shop for MSI Monday and as always I completed the shop report and uploaded all necessary materials. Tuesday someone called me and asked about the report and "to see if I was going to do the shop." I called him back and also logged in to see a message saying they did not get my upload. Don't they even check to see if I completed the shop before calling me to say they didn't get it?? LOL.. geesh. I had to upload again.. no biggie as this happens all of the time with other companies too.

I understand it means you can self-assign, but I currently don't see all that many jobs that interest me in my area. I'm wondering if I'll have access to more jobs once I complete my first five.

The national grocery price shops are now worthless in my area south of Seattle. It takes almost 3 hours in store and another hour online figuring out what some of the items are. The pay was good when the items were straight forward, but now most of the list is specialized and is not always in the main grocery aisles.

However, I consider Trend Source the best MSC in my market. Paid every two weeks on time every time. The assignments are varied and the pay is above minimum wage.

In my experience as a Premier Shopper, it only allows me the ability to self-assign shops; and not all, only some. Dependent on the client's requirements and shopper experience, I guess.

I agree with earlier comments - TrendSource is a pleasant company to deal with.
