I was doing gangbusters, now it seems to have slowed down.

I've been super busy most of the summer doing MS's. This morning, I've not found many extra ones for this week. I have most of the good ones (paying $25 or more) strewn out over the month of August. Does anybody know of any good ones to help me fill my time and pockets?

I'm always slow the last week of the month....and haven't seen many out for Aug. yet. Sorry I can't help, but, Beyond Hello does have the usual (which I don't do).

My situation is much the same. I've picked up some last-minute fast food shops, but there just isn't much else out there right now.

I've found that the few MSPs I usually get a lot of 'last minute end of the month' work from haven't been adding much to their boards.

The economy is bad, and so people are not flaking? It's been like that for a while here.

I'm glad to have time right now to hover over the computer. August shops are posting, and I'm grabbing

I picked up some good ones just now at Customer Impact. Best Mark has become better than it used to be, but because of the economy, they are snapped up right away. And one never knows when the jobs are going to be posted.

Go to Jobslinger Plus and set a target for "Big Money Shops." I did this setting the limit for $30.00 and above. All I get under that target are $30.00 and above shops, four to five pages at a time. Good luck

Second-to-none, and consumer impact and Tell Us About Us are cool places to contract for.

Tell us about us does not pay a fee or tips for their restaurant shops (that's all they have here). I work monthyly for them, but make no $$. Things are slow this time of the month, I have been busy doing other stuff, and find I need time to undo and relax.

Yeah, but at least they reimburse you for a meal.

I'm slowing down this month, it's too hot to drive all over town anyways.

I am more busy than I really want to be this month. :-)

It's a good and busy month for me, too. Either my competition is otherwise occupied, or business is picking up.

I'm suspecting my competition has wilted with the weather--just as I had planned on doing this month. There are a lot of rebound shops showing up and stuff is not flying off the boards so fast.

I just got a few more shops, including being the first shopper ever at a brand new establishment, and $25 a week to do a clothing store at a PITA location for me and bad timing now that not only is school starting next week, but I was tonight officially asigned a third class that I having a stunningly long full week to prep for. The aforementioned job is one that usually pays no fee and $14 reimbursement. I am doing both for the family, as my kid needs the clothes, and my hubby and son love the kind of food the new venture is selling and I love love love the local MSC that offered me the job. So, for a month I wanted to do ony 30 by choice due to timing with teaching, I am now at 50 and going crazy this weekend. But I have eaten a LOT of really great food this month. :-)

It's the syndrome known as I Couldn't Resist. Common characteristics are 'FOOD','it's right on the way', 'bonus', it'll only take a few minutes', 'I may not get another shop the rest of the month', 'FOOD', 'I'll apply, but probably won't get it', 'can't have too many groceries', and 'FOOD'.

Yup. FOOD, BONUS and super easy figure to this. :-)

I've started to do more high end shops and beginning to turn up my nose at the jobs that don't pay so well or require 500 word essays.

I'm gearing up to start back at college (taking Creative Writing classes) and won't have as much time now. Mystery shopping is addictive. I've had loads of fun this summer and know that this is just the tip of the iceberg.

I've had some unexpected experiences:
1). A guy added an extra $4.00 tip to my bill after I had already left him 20 %.
2). At a low income apartment shop, was not asked to sit down or receive offer to tour the apartments.
3). Watched a young lady pretend to work when boss was visible. As soon as boss left, she ate a gallon of ice cream, then talked on the cell phone.
4). Saw a guy taking cheese and lettuce from a bag with his bare hands. Watched same guy flip pizza dough in the air, drop it on floor, pick it up, bake it and then serve it.
5). Watched a bartender drink something out of a can stashed behind the bar, ring up no sales, stack dollar bills beside register, money disappeared. Watched her sexually harrass a male employee.

All of which fit into the "Ewwwwww" category mwert. It has overall been a long time since I had an "Ewwwwww" shop, though I must admit that some of my house sittings are definitely that way (and makes you wonder how people can live like that). Overall, though, I run into very little dishonesty. I did watch a bartender dropping little groups of toothpicks into a glass next to the register after 'ringing' "No Sale"s. My significant other pointed out that the number of toothpicks going into the glass was the same as the number of dollars of the customer's bill that was not rung. Sure enough a bit later the bartender rang in a sale, got change for the customer and took a larger bill to put in his pocket, soon afterwards he removed the bulk of the toothpicks from the glass.

I must say I was naive before I became a Mystery Shopper. I'm still not that savvy at bar shops, but I've taken a giant leap this summer.

I think that the last thing a person would want is to be caught doing something dishonest by a Mystery Shopper.

Even when I'm not Mystery shopping, I pay close attention to descriptions of people, service, cleanliness, etc.... Before mystery shopping, I wouldn't have noticed a lot of these things.

This is fun too!!!
