Service Scouts - recent feedback

The last two threads on this company were over 10 months old, so I thought that I'd open a new one for some recent feedback.

I haven't worked for them for over four years. (I've been around for a long time, so this happens.) I recalled seeing some negative posts about them here awhile ago. I finally took a job that was appealing to me, both for the fee and the experience. I did the job over the weekend. A check was cut on Tuesday. I have it in hand, paid in full, with the full fee, reimbursement and bonus. Frankly, I did not even look up the payment terms, but I expected payment sometime in April.

So, damn, I will pay more attention to their emails now. People used words such as, "Sketchy," and "10 foot pole list" last time. That was not my experience at all.

(No, they didn't ask me to post. I have had zero contact with anyone there since I was assigned the job.)

I have wanted to try a shop from them for some time but haven't been able to match up my availability with their available jobs when I was in some of the areas they have shops.

How would you describe their narrative expectations compared to a Coyle fine dining report? I've been slightly interested in a few things but I also read the negative reviews and that has weighed in favor of picking up other work.

I would consider them like amusement advantage shops but for sporting events or concerts. I know they do have a few other shops like oil change or repair shops and perhaps those are quicker and easier. I personally would rather just pay out of pocket for the sporting event then do all the work for free tickets and little to no pay. They use the client smart platform.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.

I have done the sporting events in the past, but I have a better connection for those now, so I skip them.

It was a service. The report took maybe 45 minutes? Perhaps less. The narrative was minimal.

It was much less work than a Coyle fine dining report. I have done of few casual dining jobs for Coyle lately, and I found them to be quite quick and simple.

I saw a great pro baseball game in New England on my birthday. Sat behind the plate, ate at the fancy restaurant inside, screwed up the report but hope I get another chance.

I've applied for so many music concerts and each time get nothing! I have zero interest in attending a basketball game, especially since the location is 1.5 hours each way and I hate sports. Is there any way to get assigned a music concert without having to do a sports one first? I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

I'm guessing the sports shops are harder to fill, so those who do them get priority on concerts.

Nope, got an offer today of a super popular concert and have not done a ballgame for them at all.

I would love a Toronto Blue Jays shop.

I've done a baseball game, basketball game, and a concert shop for them....they are not overly hard. You do have a number of interactions, but with the descriptions of people, you have to insert the name/description of the person after each question (you do it once and the report fills it out for you). The cool part is that each name/description is saved so they may already be in there.

All in all the staff at SS are very easy to work with, and if you get there in enough time before the concert/game starts, you can do the majority of the interactions before and be able to enjoy yourself there.

Silver certified (since 2009) and willing to do shops all around the greater Chicago, NW Indiana, and Southern Wisconsin areas (including airports!.

Canada DOES have sporting events thanks for your ignorance. And I have done a Blue Jays game. This one this week was not baseball in case you are not sports worthy.

I think the point was that in some places they have a large number of sporting events to fill and the shoppers who do those get priority.

There is one venue I'm aware of where they have to fill both pro and college basketball, sometimes 5-6 events in a week. I believe the concerts in that venue always go to their sports shoppers.

And the previous poster is mostly on everyone's ignore list. hahaha

I work with a company that pays travel, per diem and fees for sports. Hence, I don't bother with the reimbursement only sports shops or low fee shops.

I have done a bunch of shops for them over the past 18 months. Some people had problems with one of the schedulers, but that person is no longer around as far as I can tell. I never had a problem with that scheduler.

Very good to work with. Pay twice a month. The tickets are hit or miss. Some have been really good, while others have been absolute junk. Sometimes they even send you the tickets and a parking pass via e-mail ahead of time. In my area they must be short shoppers because they have been paying bonuses along with the tickets and reimbursement.

As for concerts/etc, I have seen them dangle that out there when shops need to be picked up.

Yes they dangle that here in the Midwest....do a game get your choice of a concert or another event on the board. May use that as leverage later this year when I am gong out of town to Calif and want to see a game out there.

Similar but the portal they use makes it hard since the questions are on multiple pages. Figure about an hour or so on writing one if you are doing a sporting event or concert.
