NARMS is the merchandising folks. They are not mystery shopping.
NAMS and a few others, if I recall correctly, were starts at a shopper's association. But frankly we know that in terms of information exchange, forums are about as good as anything. I don't know that any of the 'associations' that were ever started up amounted to a hill of beans because they don't address issues that plague shoppers such as stiffed shoppers, unfairly rejected shops, termination issues, etc. etc. My guess is that they were 'feel good' attempts at 'getting organized to have some clout'. When you realize, however, that mystery shopping is a revolving door and forums or any other interaction with other shoppers touch relatively few shoppers, you are swimming against the tide.
