marketstat

Has anyone work for marketstat [www.marketstatreporting.com]? I am looking at this assignment, but have some question about it. I can not find an email or phone or any way to contact on their website, so I am a bit unsure.

Any comments are appreciated!

This is the company that JC & Associates rolled into. Based on that alone I am definitely taking a 'wait and see' attitude. There were just too many payment issues with JC&A.

I am not suggesting that you stay away but rather that you tread cautiously and keep your ears and eyes open. It may well be that the new company will honor their obligations in a timely fashion, but I am not planning on being the guinea pig to find out.

From what I have been reading, MarketStat has had it's own slow pay issues. I will be taking a very cautious wait and see attitude, as well.

My sense was that marketstat was a very new company. Although I have heard names of a different cast of characters I certainly won't be rushing out to spend money I would not otherwise spend until I hear things are stable, steady and moving forward. While some chaos is always expected with a start up, these new guys will only get one chance at making a good first impression. If it looks like, feels like and acts like JC & Assoc there is little point in pursuing it.

I know you do not suggesting to stay away. If this is a shop that does not require me to front the cash, like going to a bank, then I might take a risk. At worse, I just lost my time doing the report. However, this is assignment to go to restaurant, and I cant afford not getting reimbursed. I am staying away for now...

Understood. One of the restaurants that J&C offered (and I assume has moved to marketstat) is a place we like to go anyway. So although I would resent doing a report and not getting paid, I too would primarily be out time. So if/when there is a suggestion we go there, I will look and see if a shop is available.

Some assignments have moved companies or stopped being shopped. The thing JC had for Hawaii changed companies. Hooray!

I signed up and checked out their site....they don't have jobs listed by locations. I do see the old JC&Assoc. family restaurant that I loved, but don't know where it is (like what state). I never cared for this type of site, but I will do it if they get my location, I miss that restaurant, so, would go anyway. I'm thinking because they are new, with new contracts, they will pay on time.....

From what I have read elsewhere, that is not necessarily the case. I read about people complaining they are slow to pay and have to nag.

Anything more current on them? And does anyone have contact information? I have an extremely easy two day trip this week and they have a breakfast shop near my hotel. Since the plan was to have breakfast out anyway and the day just includes a one hour video shop and easy drive home I thought it would be worth the risk. Plus the prices are the same as at my hotel and the menu looks much better! I just can't find out anything about that shop like if it requires 2 people or if the report is due the same day.

Oh, I recall I had that company. I think I have dropped it from my list that's why I had forgeotten about it. There was a pay issue with J&C and Marketstat straightened it out and apologized when they took over. I did a number of assignments for J&C but not one for Marketstat.
