Anyone know how important the barcode is on the CPI for MarketForce?

I just printed the CPIs for my shops tomorrow and noticed that for some reason the barcodes will not show up or print. I don't know if that has happened before and I just never noticed.

Does anyone know how important it is for those to show up when I scan them?

lisams901, since Monday I am sending those CPI without the barcode, no problem so far, I think that the barcode are not important at all.

I have completed numerous assignments from this company. I don't think the barcode is a big deal either. Sometimes, if the CPI is needed and not a receipt. I upload even before my assignment is completed, just to get it out of the way. Hope this helps...

I think it's your signature that is important.

I think they want both the bar code as well as the signature. You can just check your CPI status and see if it says verified.

I don't know why, but for some reason all this week, the barcodes are not printing on the CPI.

I just did a shop for them yesterday, and it downloaded with the barcode. Weird.

I've done over 100 jobs for them. It is nearly as important to submit the CPI as it is to turn in a receipt.

The question was if the *barcode* was important, though, since she was having issues with it not printing. But you are correct, not turning in the CPI enough times will get you deactivated.

I just print the CPI to my pdf printer, convert the file to a jpg and submit it. I haven't signed a CPI for over a year.

No issues with pay, no problems, never had one questioned.

I know that others of us here also do not ever do the print thing. Open it in Photoshop, add siggies, and upload. Why damage the earth wasting trees?

dee I rememeber reading a post of yours a few months ago about how you sign it in photoshop but I've never figured out how to do that.

My CPIs earlier this week printed fine, but the ones from yesterday printed with no barcode. I'm not sure why, but since others are reporting the same problem, I assume the problem is on their end.

I always fax my CPIs & receipts to MarketForce. I rarely have problems, but I've always thought that the barcode was very important. Anyway, I wrote the shop number across the top of the CPI since the receipts I'm attaching often cover other parts of the CPI.

Faxed Receipts/CPIs sometimes take a day or two to register on the upload page, so I'll keep you all posted of whether or not it 'takes' without the barcode.

My CPIs this past week didn't have barcodes, and CPI status indicates "verified", so it would appear all is well.

My CPIs without the barcodes are also showing as verified. I faxed mine, so that option seems to be working without the barcode. FYI.

Perhaps they finally figured out that in the digital age, they didn't really need the bar code for scanning. LOL.

Do you mean the "scanned" as in when we scan and upload the CPIs or do you mean that they "scan" the copies that I fax in? I ask becasue I fax my CPI & receipts. The MFI instructions (which I haven't read recently) say NOT to use a cover sheet and to put the receipts on top of the CPI. So, when I have 2 receipts, the only job number that I left uncovered was the one at the barcode. The one next to the signature line is typically covered and so is the one in the heading.

For the ones that I've faxed without a barcode, I've written the job number at the top of the CPI before I faxed it. It makes sense that they're scanning the faxes in, but if all of the job numbers are covered, how do they know where to file it?

No, I meant them using the bar code on their end to scan the codes.

Lisa,
Save the document to your desktop or other appropriate folder as either a pdf or a jpg. Then open the doc. up in Photoshop, pick a font you like (I consistently use the same font, color, and size with them), type your name, and save the file as a medium sized jpg. Or, some people have used wacom tablets or a scan of their signature to make a "signature stamp" that they layer on top of the original file in Photoshop. After that step, the procedure would be the same.
