When I have been a victim of a bankruptcy in the past through investment activity in a company that has applied for bankruptcy protection, the lawyers handling the case are required to contact all parties that are owed money. They seem to usually have a legal firm representing the people/companies that are owed money. I do not know the rules for how long they have to start that action. They send a letter advising of your rights and what to do if you want to join the legal team or go it on your own. I am not owed any money thankfully by Grassroots but those of you who do can research who is handling the bankruptcy and perhaps report back so the others can take advantage of your research and contact the legal firm to make sure they have you listed as a creditor. I would advise all of you to keep your receipts and any information you have on the jobs you have done that you have not received reimbursement for until this is over. I have successfully received compensation in cases of bankruptcy so hopefully this will come through for all of you. It does take time. I would caution however that each of you figure out exactly how much you are owed and dates of the jobs and not just enter a guess or add in mileage or time or other things you would not normally get paid for. Your time doing the research is not usually recompensed. This other "new" company is another monkey wrench. It should certainly be reported to whoever is judging this case of bankruptcy. It may or may not have been done illegally depending on how they handled it internally.
I feel so sorry for all of you who have not been paid and hope this all turns out well. I missed being one of you just by being too busy to take a job.
