Does Grass Roots America Still Owe You Money?

The company does not even need to be overseas. Just look at the craziness
that is going on with the Hararah's bankrupty. So much shifting of assets
between "companies" on paper back and forth so many times no one can
figure out which "company" owns what and what should be part of
the bankruptcy. Some people's pensions were even stopped. Companies
that shift assets and make fake companies on paper should have their
corporate executives thrown in jail. Instead...they continue to collect
their bonuses while vendors, employees and other unsecured creditors
see little if anything.

I filed a claim with the Florida Attorney General. I provided the necessary information. I won't give up because I drove to Lamar University in Beaumont, TX several times to shop and spent $$. I hope others will also resolve to obtain their pay.
I did too. It might help if any of us who are owed money would also go to the Florida General's website
and file a claim against Grass Roots America, INC. it might not work, but it can't hurt !
Their address is Grass Roots America, INC, 711 North Orlando Ave. #301, Maitland, Florida 32751
Let's all at least try to do something !
I got my gift card for the shop I did in March, but I am hoping for success for those of you who did not get paid yet.
I'm thinking of going to a $30 a plate restaurant they used to shop out of my own pocket for a certain dish.

They really have me craving expensive meals now.

I have given up on CF being shopped soon and used my gift card for them as well.
I filed with the FL Attorney General and did receive a reply which I shared with our gracious founder.
They owe me for 2 restaurant shops completed in early March. I'm owed 2 gift cards, one for $25 and one for $30. Thanks for the company info I will try reaching them ASAP.

Such a shame I shopped for them years ago with great success. I only came back a few months before they went under.
Grass Roots owes me two gift cards ($40 each) and a $65 Visa gift card. Was very upset that they did not respond to numerous emails, phone calls reaching out to them. Really enjoyed working for them and disappointed it had to end this way.
They are bankrupt. They are not going to respond. There might not even be anyone left to respond. File a claim with the bankruptcy court.

This all is just so sad and disappointing I was owed $240 dollars for four insurance shops that I completed. Had to drive to three other towns to get this done. I enjoyed this company and am angry that they knew long before their end date that they were going under and still assigned shops. This has made me very leary about completing shops ecspecially when so much money is on the line.

It is disappointing because they were a company I enjoyed working with for several years. It might help the disappointment you are feeling to know that the employees of the mystery shopping company did not know in advance that their company was ending. The decision was made at the parent company and it was kept secret from the employees in the area that was closing. They continued to schedule shops and review the reports right up through 3/31. April shops had been posted and many shoppers had self-scheduled those April shops in advance. The employees learned on 3/31 that they were losing their jobs as of that day and all April shops were immediately canceled. Within a day or two, access to the website was blocked.

It does appear that the parent company knew well in advance that they planned to close that operation. But the employees of the company we have known and worked with for years had no knowledge of this. To them, it was business as usual ...... until 3/31. It was a very sad day for the mystery shoppers and for the employees.
The actions of a coward for sure - but there were several red flags weeks before. Two of my schedulers up and quit or were no longer employed weeks before. I did forward the email from the FL AG to our host. Prayer does work.
Interestingly enough I signed up with this company just before they closed I was getting 2 phone calls a day to do work for them from different people all the time and they were happy happy people and I did not take the work at the time. I was busy and thought something was weird. Then the phone calls stopped. I hope everyone gets paid. I dont think its a good idea to sign up with the new company. The president needs to make a statement.

I wonder what company is taking over there clients

When I get a card, I use the card the same day I receive it... I use it at the pump it to get gas immediately!! smiling smiley
I am owed $50 for the fish shop that was completed in the beginning of March. I did receive my payment for the cake company about a week after I completed the shop before the company closed. I had money on my Visa card but have not attempted to use it. I will be checking tonight to see if the money is still on the card since I have seen reports of them removing money from the Visa card.
Still owed a shop for $50.00....the way I look at it is that I ate and enjoyed my meal. The only thing lost is my time doing the survey. I always concidered being paid a bonus, not a way of making a living.
I still think I'm the biggest loser at $748.00 ? I've tried everything, and finally giving up !

Did you guys see the thread re new Grassroots?

Ronnie, I'm sorry to hear you have not been paid. I did a dining shop in very late March and was paid in April, sooner than I would have expected if the company had not crashed and burned.

Have you tried contacting the new company that Kate referenced?
They owe me $50. I was able to log on to their site with my Grassroots log in. I sent a message through their support link. I doubt I will get a response.
I notified the "new" company (which I was able to log into with my grassroots info) and this is what I received:
Re: (name removed) grill shop
Support @ Research Powered Shops
Greetings.
Research Powered is an independent company not undertaking any projects in your area. You may wish to make a claim with Grass Roots America or (name removed) Grill accordingly.

Why don't you ask them why their "independent" company is utilizing the Grassroots database?
