Mystery Shopping Companies

Yes, most of our shops are in The Bahamas, although we do Phone Surveys in Florida, so if you have a free long distance plan, Vonage, Magic Jack, etc., they will work for you. Our next set of calls begin in May.

Thank U Austin MOM and Flash for your comments!

I just moved from NYC to FL and your right on pay in various markets as well as with the variety of stores price points and people verses small towns. It would be great to have postings for specific regions and counties the companies people love to work for. Does anyone know of such a source?

I noticed on most of the posts people don't like to mention company names and wonder why as most are not using their real name when posting so how does it get back on them to help others learn about shops and companies in various regions?
Most of us truly respect our Independent Contractor Agreements and the Posting Guidelines of this forum. If we discuss a particular shop by client name, other shoppers doing those shops know what we are talking about. If we discuss a particular company by name it is generally due to company based issues rather than individual shop issues. You can't discuss name both in the same thread.

As far as real names . . . some think it is a great idea to use real names, yet all it takes is being mildly critical of one company being unfair to get you terminated by them. And indeed some companies have gone out of their way to figure out who shoppers are anyway to teminate them. What come companies consider confidential, others do not. I recently heard of one shopper who was given a very low score on an otherwise good shop because they identified a complaint about a problem back to the shopper and declared they had broken confidentiality.

As far as who shops what specific regions, it would be a foolish shopper who gave up all of their personal research of who shops their area. There is enough competition in most markets already so it is a good business decision to play your cards close to your chest. Generically, Jobslinger.com can give folks an idea of who is shopping their area and if a shopper is unable/unwilling to do their homework beyond that, why should someone in their 'area' hand them the 'answer key' on a silver platter?

While all of us are more than willing to help others (and our presence here speaks to that), there are limits to how much of our business we need to give away. Of course a shopper who is unwilling/unable to do their own research and finds signing up with lots of companies to see what is available to them just a waste of their time will not last long in this business anyway.
Hello,

I just started shopping in Feb. I am amazed at what is out there for work. All of the trails and errors I have experienced to this stage of the process that I am going through, to try my hand at full-time work, has helped me to weed out the crap. I am still trying to keep my shopper email box free of all the bogus things I looked into while getting started. I am reporting a lot of junk that comes to me as spam, but it is finally getting to the point of good shop information being sent to my box. I am finally starting to find my stride. I wouldn't hesitate to give good insight about the do's and don'ts of finding good shops to family members and friends, but you are right, the rest is close to the vest! Even to family members and friends, I couldn't reveal everything. I would want them to want it as much as I do, and do good hard research on their own.

They're all good. Sign up with as many as you can and then you will be able to check their job boards to see if they have shops in your area.
If we did we would not be able to tell you. When signing up with mystery shopping companies, you are required to sign a confidentiality agreement in which you agree not to reveal any confidential information about their company. Revealing the client names of mystery shopping companies is a violation of those confidentiality agreements and of the posting guidelines of our forum.
I have joined Jobslinger Plus, and signed up with a lot of the companies who use the Sassie software. If you look at the bottom of this page, you will see "Official List of Mystery Shopping Companies" that Jacob has posted. On the bottom of the list, is an additional list of a lot of Sassie sites. When I joined Jobslinger I was able to apply to 39 Sassie companies with filling out just one form on one of the sites given to me. I was very pleased with the process and have applied for, and received many shops using the companies on the Sassie system. I have also gotten paid for all of the ones I shopped for. The great benefit is going to one spot to view many, many jobs boards to companies I am contracted with. I have done it,and now believe in it wholeheartedly. I also am contracted with many other companies from Jacobs list. You have to be willing to put the time into applying often and with many companies. After a while, you will be able to see that most of the independent contractor agreements are primarily the same. You still have to go over them, but the process get easier as do the reports for your shops. Good Luck!

I don't spend much time writing here anymore, but this is the place that helped me get my start, and I still view every link to a discussion that comes to my inbox. Great information. Sometimes you have to "eat the meat and spit out the bones!" Don't let yourself be discouraged, ask many questions. None are bad questions. They just need good answers.

I haven't done this myself, but I have seen advice given that when you would like to shop a particular company you can call the corporate headquarters and ask them who their mystery shopping provider is. Sometimes they will tell you, I've read.

Good luck!
I had experience working with a mystery shopping company in Texas and it truly is a rewarding experience. Just like the others, I like working as a mystery shopper but we should never make it our permanent job because it is only a means of getting extra income.

That may be your case but for others it is a permanent/full time job.

My least favorite company to work for is CRI. The pay is low, and are not available for help!
I have been involved in mystery shopping and retail merchandising since 2001. I created a website for everyone to go to to help them get started in their own mystery shopping and retail merchandising business like mine JD Dawson Investigative Reports & Merchandisng. I got into this occupation out of shear desperation for income after suffering a major heart attack, requiring by-pass surgery. After that I was considered damaged goods that no employer wanted anything to do with. Getting involved in mystery shopping and retail merchandisng saved my life financially. The two combined allows you to earn a full time income. I have also included a lot of extra information regrading cottage industries, etc. Just my way of giving back: becomeasecretshopper.webs.com/
I am looking for work in middle Tennessee. I do a lot of fast food but, would like to reach out more. Thanks for any input.
The best advice always is to sign up with more companies. The "Official List of Mystery Shopping Companies" at the bottom right of every page of the forum is a good place to start as it will also provide you links to shopper discussions of the particular company in most cases.

CRI is my least favorite company. They pay pennies and reject reports for minor reasons.

always research the company before giving any info. yes you may need to give ssn or ein. most of the companies go thruogh paypal or send a check, so i wouldn't chance giving out my bank info.

I'm not sure if your talking wear and tear or gas, but you should write off the mileage. I do not take shops that are too far away unless I can do multiples.

I also was mailed a large check. FYI no company is just going to send a stranger a large amount of money. Most shops I have delt with reimburse you. They dont give you money then hope you do what your supposed to with it.

appreciated...get spell check before you do any shops.
I'm new to this forum. I have been shopphing for about a month now, with ACE and Bestmark. So far so good. The list at the beginning of this thread is great, but can anyone here tell me any more good companies with alot of jobs in the Los Angeles area. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you work hard and hustle you can make a few bucks doing this. I currently do not have another job, so I have alot of time to get out there and hustle and do alot of shops. Problem is that ACE and Bestmark just dont have enough shops available.

If anyone could recommend a good company or two to sign up with that would be great.

Thanks, and good shopping
Tim
Game film, STay away , one negative report and your off their shopping list.

Hello everyone,

You should check out Albatross Global Solutions. They would love to add more shoppers to their data base and they have a wide selection of stores and missions.
So if interested, please visit their website at www.albatrossonline.com and click on 'Become a shopper' to create your account.

HAVE FUN!
I am new in MS and have read most of the posts. I have been almost scammed too. Wanting to work from home, I signed up on a website that catered to working from home and received so many emails from different companies. One of them, informed that they are hiring me to do MS and asked for my address so they can send me information on what to do and also a money order for my fee. Well, I received a legit-looking USPS money order and was ordered by the company to deposit the money order and mail them a check (personal check) for the difference in the amount. The company wanted me to deduct my "supposed fee and shopping expense ($500) and mail them back the difference. The company kept on emailing me regarding the "MS report and the check that I need to mail back to them", but my gut told me that something was wrong. So I called USPS and inquired regarding the money order and true enough, I was told that it was a fake money order. I emailed the company and told them that the money order was fake and that they are scammers. I never received any more emails from the company. I have been skeptical ever since but still would want to do MS as my part time job. After reading most of the posts, I feel that I found a website that is trully doing MS. Hopefully, this is the answer to my prayers that I will find legit companies that I can provide an honest and committed "work from home" jobs.
I am in eastern Ky. and would love to mystery shop and work from home on the computer. However I do not want to pay to work...
