BEWARE of this "company"

the name is SECRET ONLINE SHOPPERS.COM I complted the first "assignment" and was told the payment would go into my paypal account within 24 hours. Before the 24 hours was even up they had sent me a second assignment. Thank goodness i decided to wait for payment first, well needless to say 3 weeks later I still have not recieved a payment. I have tried several times to contact them and cannot get a response from anyone! So pass the word around this company is a SCAM!!!!

Keep hounding them Angellique. They are/were a "legitimate" company and unless they have to close their doors you will get paid eventually but keep prodding them to make that 'sooner' rather than 'later'. I suspect that the 'company' listed by the OP is not and never was a legitimate company.

It is definitely a time to be super wary of scams on the internet. Our local police department indicates that calls are up 200% this quarter to their fraud line with most of the increase being internet fraud. My significant other is having his credit card company back out over $300 of charges to his card because he signed up for a "free information" on the internet that was to be emailed to him for a $1.95 service charge. He has not received the information but the charges keep smacking his credit card.
This is good info, can we move this to the company discussion or mystery shopping discussion?

Also beware of Consumer Connection, offering jobs across Canada. They have not paid back to Feb/09. They owe me over $1,000 and other shoppers I am aware of.
I was shopping for Pacific Research Group, they do a lot of Krispy Kreme shops. I actually shopped for them for over 18 months and when I did my last shop, the check never came, no deposit in paypal. I wrote to them repeatedly and asked for payment and never received a reply. Next I emailed the scheduler and she was shocked to even get an email from me, she emailed me back that she had not been paid in over 5 months and that shoppers had not been paid also. She said that several shoppers had wrote Krispy Kreme also complaining. She said PRG got the money from KK for the shops to be performed, but did not pay the shoppers their fee for completing the assignments.

Other shops for this company besides Krispy Kreme:

*Crab Shack has monthly assignments available (lunch or dinner, your choice) for 5
restaurant locations in South Carolina, to be due by June 20th.

*New York Pizza Department has weekly assignments available (meal period
specific) in Arizona – 10 area restaurant locations available, to be due by Saturday of each week.

*Richard Walker Pancake House has weekly (Monday-Friday) assignments
available from 6:30am to 1:30pm, in San Diego CA to be due by Friday of each
week.

*Suncor Convenience Stores has twice monthly assignments available (daylights
hours, Monday-Sunday) in Colorado

*Weber’s Inn restaurant & bar has weekly assignments (5:30pm to 8:30pm)
available in Ann Arbor MI, to be due by Saturday of each week.
Redrabbitt, we aren't supposed to disclose the company name and their client. You can be generic in your description like "seafood chain" or "pancake house" but no names. You might want to edit your post.
Consumer Connections out of BC Canada, has yet to pay me for work in may, a bunch of theives. No response from them on the phone and e-mails. They are crooks. do not shop for them.

This is all quite interesting. How does one contact legitimate timely payers? Directly? I live north of Boston, MA.
Thanks for your consideration all!
Read all the info on this site and sign up with the companies on the list here and on Volition.

imyst has been around a long time. I think I have been registered with them about 5 years but I have never found a job with them that was both local and worth doing. I have heard no outrage with them from other shoppers, nor have I heard anyone singing their praises.
imyst has a lot of jobs here in South Texas but they all seem to be bar visits that require you to stay in the bar an hour and a half or two hours. I don't mind a shop that requires a bar visit before dining but I don't want to just go sit in a bar so I haven't accepted any of their shops so far.
I've done in-home shops for them (carpet/flooring), and phone shops. No problem with reports or payment.
As far as Goodwin and Associates goes, I have done many shops for them, I have been paid every time and on time.
