I have thought about doing that one, but I am not sure the clothes are something I would wear!

Wow. Under the new system, I see they raised the bonus on this shop again. It now went up a total of $3.03. For a shop that requires 3 interactions and 6 additional associate names and reimburses $1? No, thanks anyway.

Well, on occasion I will take a shop for personal reasons, like I need stuff there and view it as a discount plan for home necessities, but that one is not one of them. Here, that store is very disorganized, staffed with poor workers with no name tags, and annoying! :-)

The 2 closest to me were just like that 8 months ago. I can see where reported observations have made a difference. There is one some distance from me I took on as a bonused shop a couple of months ago. 2 employees were using powered stock selectors to race each other with. When they almost ran me down, I shut them down, took the keys and hollered for the manager. He was not receptive to my actions or my statement. Stated he would check the security video at the end of the day to see if I was telling the truth. I "Revealed" myself and left. Our favorite MSC was not receptive to my "Reveal". The only thing I heard later is that the security video backed me up...:p

PS: Yes, I got paid!

ADDED: I shop there for household repair items. Each PO shop I ask for a change of address package. They contain a 10% off coupon for this store...winking smiley

You took the keys and shut them down! They should have been scared spitless of what their manager would do. Did you reveal that you were a mystery shopper, or did you just reveal your name?

Thanks for the 10% tip MrC. While I only did that shop once, I do shop there for fix-er-up items. My husband says we make weekly deposits, and he's only slightly exaggerating.
I revealed that I was a Mystery Shopper when the manager showed a lack of concern. That also insured I would not be called on to go there again...winking smiley

I keep a stack of those cards. Came in handy when I purchased a lawnmower trailer there last month...smiling smiley

The coupons I have seen in the change of address packages were an email registration required and only 1 every 6 months or so. I'll check because if it is now a flat 10% without further registration that is cool. Thanks.
I use 2 to 3 of these a week. No email registration. Once in a while they ask for a phone number. I give them whatever one I think of. Current cards expire October 31st, 2009.

I used to shop with them too. Then by the time they rejected a 2nd shop, I finally had an enough of them and asked them to deactive me. I didn't have any payment problems with them. It was the pictures they were so picky about.
::sounds like a 'mangled pizza' shop issue to me smiling smiley I have done only one of those, heavily bonused. But I don't work withthem much anyway. ::
I've done over 120 shops for CRI. Yes, the pay is low, but group the shops. That way you can make $50 and up for going out.
I am an experienced, well seasoned, mystery shopper that works for numerous companies. This company is fantastic for paying within two weeks. THe quick pay alone makes it worth it.
By the way, I have never had a shop rejected by them.

I made $75 on one shop two blocks from home yesterday.

$50 for HOW MANY shops? And how long are you going to have to spend in store and on the road? If the hourly pay is not worth it, then I am not doing it. Just 'cuz I *can* make $50, does not means it is worth the effort to do so. I am in this for the money.

That's how I see it. Sure a lot of the CoRI shops are low paying, but they pay weekly. I won't go out of my way to do one of their $5 shops, but if I am going to be there anyways, I will take it.

And get the payment the following Friday instead of the end of the next month like some others.
We did about 20 of these last fall, between my wife and I, at the various malls around us. We always go straight to the clearance rack, sometimes got as many as 5 shirts for the $14, and when we gave them to the nephews for Christmas we left the original price tags attached.. (yeah, I know, tacky, but effective) Each of my nephews got a stack of shirts from us that, according to the price tags was worth over $500.00, and not only did it cost nothing but time, but some of the shops were bonused, so we made a little bit.

I have a few charities that I donate to - goods, primarily. Three of these charities are shelters for people and/or animals. I'm a bargain shopper and seek out stores that provide quality and are affordable. Some shops' purchase requirements are with these donations in mind. These shops I consider as having added value. Shop fee/reimbursement, donating, tax write off.
Obviously these people who are speaking so fondly of CRI do not know there is another thread concerning them on the first page of the list of forums.

Before you waste any more time wondering why no one says anything bad about them please go to that site.
i am aware but those are not many and most are complaints about the pay scale...

shopping north west PA and south west ny
I started with this company in November because it was the first shop that I got into. My shopes are only paying 5-10 dollars for this company. To be honest I'm not clear on what a normal shop does pay?? Give me some ideas? I don't want to get ripped off but I am not clear on what the going rate is. I have finished 20 shops so far.
While there are a lot of 5-10 shops out there, there are shops that pay more or less than that. Now that you have a little experience, sign up with other companies and begin expanding your horizons. These days fees are low because of the economy and higher paying shops are somewhat scarce because 1) many clientss have discontinued shops at least for the present, 2) many clients have cut back on the number of shops to be performed and 3) there are many shoppers out there competing with you for the shops.

By now you should be developing your timing skills, your observation skills and your reporting skills. These are important before you tackle shops with larger reimbursements because you don't want shops where you laid out a fair amount of $ to get rejected. Eventually you will migrate to the jobs and companies where the combination of fee and reimbursement for goods/services useful to you makes financial sense. You will never get rich as a mystery shopper. The best you can hope for is that it is a positive contribution to your lifestyle. My most consistent monthly shops net $17--$7 fee and $10 in groceries--and restaurant shops at a place we greatly enjoy that cover dinner for two. I do extended narrative bank shops for $35 with a $5 bonus if I get them submitted on time. I recognize that my shops don't meet the needs of all shoppers and certainly my favorite shops are limited by monthly quotas, number of locations in my area and rotation.

So add a couple of companies to your list of ones you are signed up for each of the next few months while you continue to grow as a shopper and if you are still interested and engaged in another 5-6 months, spend the time to do the mass sign up with everybody. Once you have signed up with the most widespread companies, CORI, Market Force, Bestmark, Maritz, Gapbuster, Service Intelligence, etc. move on to sign up with companies who have posted jobs in your area on Jobslinger.com. When you do your mass signup eventually, you will discover that 8 out of 10 are unlikely to have shops in your area as they are niche players. But you may get lucky and be right in the middle of their niche.
hey they got overhead as well and need to pay their bills too... i mean it is a business and the idea of getting business is to get money not to give it...

if they can get shopppers cheap... well hey im sure someone in their company benefits... if they cant... more power to us...

most companies are out there to make as large of a profit as they can...

I've never had any problems with them about getting paid they are one of the fastest companies if you do direct deposit. Before they got their web site opption to contact time live I got points subtracted for missing jobs. I could not get ahold of them except by phone and I lost the number. When I called intormation they only had the fax number. The pay is not great, but I wait until they bonus the shops. I have never had rejected shops after entering them in the system.

I had the same problem. Low payments and any excuse to not accept the shop. I also will never do Papa John's as they are extremely picky.
Yo Cool Dude! If you knew what they collected for some of these low paying shops, you might not be so concerned about their overhead...winking smiley

Though I was impressed at the somewhat generous reimbursement for the gourmet burger shops they recently attained, I was bummed to notice the shops available with another company as well. The other MSC offered an even higher reimbursement with a decent fee attached.

I'm guessing the client is paying the same for both shops. Even when they get a generous client, CORI still seems to take a big bite out of the shopper portion.
