Measure Consumer Perspectives.

RIP OFF ALEART. My wife just got scammed by Measure Consumer Perspectives. Measure Consumer Perspectives send you on shops like <CELL PHONE SHOP> and you come out of pocket to buy a phone and pay a month bill. Then Measure Consumer Perspectives say you did something wrong in the shop and no pay.
Measure Consumer Perspectives get paid for selling a phone and doing the shop you get stuck with a phone and a bill.

There are a LOT of good shop companies but Measure Consumer Perspectives are not so Do not sign up with Measure Consumer Perspectives!

Can you elaborate on why the shop was rejected?
I am not signed up with them but others, might be curious to know about the report and the instructions!

No no. This is not the legit MCP. Probably someone using their name. They will not ask you to buy a phone. They are a respected MSC. Do your research before accepting any shops that require a substantial outlay.
cynb, there ARE legitimate shops where you buy a phone and get reimbursed for it. There are recent threads on that very topic. MCP is the MSC who does them.

The question is, why was the shop rejected. If OP's wife failed to follow instructions then the shop may well have been rejected. In this case she should return the phone for a refund and cancel whatever she signed up for. Most carriers will refund within 2 weeks of purchase. Not saying that is necessarily the case here, but generally that is true.

The purpose of these shops is not to put a free phone into people's hands; the purpose is for the company to evaluate the sales effort and service given in these stores. If the shop was not conducted in such a way as to evaluate that, why should the client give the shopper a free phone just for going to the store and asking for one? We MUST do the shops according to the instructions. ALWAYS.

OP has not provided any details of what they said the wife did or didn't do correctly so it's hard to judge what's going on here.

I recently completed one of these assignments for MCP to purchase a cell phone. It is a legit shop, and my visit has been approved for payment. It's not a scam. However, because of the amount of money involved, MCP has higher expectations of the shopper. All guidelines must be followed.

I looked at their job board yesterday and they have lots of these shops available here. They seem to have a lot of requirements. The shop lasts for six months or so and you have to answer surveys every month.
Just love the newbies who come on here, blast an MSC, then disappear without bothering to explain the situation.

I know. They obviously didn't do something right or it wouldn't have been rejected. I have never had a problem getting paid by MCP. I did the cell phone purchase shop and mine has been approved for payment.
So far I have done 2 shops for them this year and received my payment in 22 and 19 days. I am a happy camper.
I've done quite a few shops for MCP and have never had an issue with them rejecting a shop or otherwise not getting paid. I haven't done the cell phone shop yet, and am debating about whether I should go with the bare minimum or pay the extra to get a phone that I would really want. It's good to see the positive feedback from those that have done them.

Like RiverSong, I haven't done the cell phone purchase shop either, but I have done multiple assignments with MCP. Aside from their job board being a bit more difficult to navigate than others, they're fine. I've always been paid for my shops.
I've never had a problem with MCP except, as stated, their job board is horrible. I would like to try one of those cell phone shops, but the job board lacks a location so I have to navigate each posting. Job board is slow and pulling up each posting is time consuming
I have been foing shops for MCP, no problem at all.

Have A Great Day!

MCP is a reputable company. I completed the cell phone shop Wednesday and it was approved for payment today.
I have done seveal shops for MCP and never had a problem. However, I have not noticed the cell phone shop; wish I did.
Well did you read the way that danrefro wrote his post? It may be that his wife is as challenged with writing properly as he is, and in general, if someone doesn't write well, they can't read well, either. It's hard for someone to properly follow instructions and guidelines if the person can't read well. Maybe English is their second language.

Not much tolerance on this board, obviously they are new and obviously she did something wrong, but only one person even tried to help, by telling them to return the phone. Some of the veterans should sit back and not bite so hard.
Sorry, but returning the phone should be pretty obvious, and I don't think the person was looking for help. I am more than willing to help people who ask for help.

His post headline was not: "Please help me and my wife with a problem." The first line of his post was: RIP OFF ALEART (ALERT). He was bashing a perfectly good MSC that most people have not had any problems with.

I agree that a few of the comments were a little harsh. But I also totally agree that the OP was not looking for help. He came here for one reason: to smear a company anonymously because his wife performed a shop wrong and did not get paid. He registered, immediately posted a flaming rip-off alert, and exited. He was on the forum about 3 minutes. He has not returned and I doubt he will do so. I think the purpose of his "rip-off" wording tied to MCP was to bring up his posting on search engines to make the company look bad.

I've noticed that the responses posters get usually relate to the tone that the poster sets. Those asking for help are usually offered quite a bit of help. Those who come in and slam a company without giving any details are usually not encouraged.
That's really weird. I don't have that problem with their job board. Mine shows my address on the map and a list of shops within a radius of my home appear when I click "mystery shops in your area." I wonder why yours doesn't? Did you update your filter?

If a ton of them come up within that radius, you have to click through each one to see the details including the address. If only a few come up, it's no big deal, but when those things first hit the boards there were so many in the Phoenix area it took a long time to click through to find the ones that were located in areas I had any reason to go to.

Were some posts deleted along the way? Frankly, I do not see anything overly harsh, intolerant or that deserved a scolding. After all, the OP is accusing the MSC of denying payment because they are making money on the sale of cell phones. To make matters worse, he copied and pasted the exact same message twice (it had to be copied since it contained the same glaring typo), used inflammatory language and then promptly left after inflicting his damage. I think everyone that followed was remarkably calm.

I changed my filter to within 1 mile of the zip code that I was targeting. That helped a lot.
I shop the entire width of Phoenix, but only the northern corridor. So I had to look through to see which shops came up along the 101 plus or minus three miles. No way to search by zip code without entering several zip codes one by one.

Have you tried using MSJobBoard.com rather than the MCP site? They had a way to look at job postings on a map. It still gives you a radius around specific areas and last time I looked you would have to enter multiple zips, but it is easier to see what is along your route.

I don't seem to be able to log in there any more and I haven't had a chance to figure out why. I'll try to find my original emails to see if I'm using a wrong password and try that some time. I'm on vacation right now so can't shop for about a week.

Enjoy your vacation. Every couple of years, I get locked out of their site where I get a yellow box that wants a "year". No matter what year I put in, it doesn't log me in. I've had to call for help to get that fixed each time.

Right now, I can log in, see shops, but when I try to appy, the pop up box where you put the date and comments won't load correctly. I need to call about that, but MCP hasn't really had anything lately that I felt strongly enough about applying for.
My comment was about not being able to log into the msjobboard.
