toooo much for too little

Does anyone know of a good way to tell a scheduler that the particular job they assign is too much work for what is paid.
I have done this particular shop twice now and the first time took about two and a half hours in store time and almost nine hours to fill out the forms. For that one i also needed to add an extra hour for corrections because the editor wasn't happy with my narrations. The second time the store time was still an hour and a half and the forms only take seven hours. For this ,I get $70.00 total. It seemed like a lot when I started but after the first shop I realized that there was a slight discrepency in the ratio of hours and pay. I thought it would be better with second time but it still doesn't really work.
Any ideas of how to fix this since I am pretty sure that next month I will get asked to do it again because no in this area seems to be available.
Any ideas would sure help.

Yes, there is a very simple answer. . . "No, thank you." If they ask why you can either tell the white lie that you are "booked" or be truthful and tell them that it just is not worth the time for the money involved. And you can certainly tell them that you thought perhaps the first time it was your unfamiliarity with the shop that made it so slow, but with the second time there was no significant time savings, so it just is not an economically feasible job for you.

Always remember that you are an independent contractor. When schedulers call, they are NOT your employer. They are offering you an opportunity to contract for a specific job. It is always your right to politely accept or politely decline.
Thanks for this thread. I've encountered the same thing today with a simple merchandizing audit at one of the office supplies stores. It took me almost 2 hours to do the audit because it was the first time doing it. I keep getting a problem message page from the MS website when I try to submit the audit results. Just not worth $10.00. I sent them an email asking for an explanation. What in the heck could the problem be? I thought I did an excellent audit.

Have any of you had this problem with Trendsource?
Why not just say what you wrote here?
"I have done this particular shop twice now and the first time took about two and a half hours in store time and almost nine hours to fill out the forms" and see if the scheduler ponies up some cash...

I did a printer audit today for TS and had no in store issues; it took 15 min, and had not done this one before. It would have gone quicker but for some nosy store emps...but I did have entry probs. If yours had red check boxes that couldn't be seen until after you said submit, then that is the same issue I had, too. But afterwards I check the red boxes, and it went away...

I tried 3 times to submit this audit and I keep getting the same answer. In the page they say that they are going to investigate the problem. They make it sound as if a crime was committed. All for a measly $10.00.
TS called me this morning. I didn't see their email until after. They took the audit over the phone. I emailed my comments. I got an email about being late with the shop entry. They are accepting the shop but I may be penalized if I don't answer the issue question. I'm kind of upset about this because I really believe it was not my fault. I answered the issue email and am just wondering what they will say. If I get penalized anyway, I'll never do another audit for so little money.
We all know about toooo much for too little. you have to learn by experience how to avoid it. It takes time.
