Restaurant Shops & Scheduling Jobs - Canada

Hi Everyone smiling smiley

Which companies do mystery shopping for restaurants such as Montana's, Kelsey's, Swiss Chalet, etc?

I'm also wondering how one would go about getting a scheduling position?

Thanks alot, I would appreciate any information!

You are in a different market, so those restaurants we don't even see here. Nobody can tell you who shops whom both because of Independent Contractor Agreements and the Posting Guidelines of this board.

On the other hand, there are a number of companies that shop restaurants. I most frequently do restaurants for A Closer Look, though BestMark, Customer Impact, Coyle and others also have restaurants. There really is no substitute for registering with a number of companies to see what they offer in your area.

Because of the size of the outlay, be aware of conversation threads on the forum regarding companies that are not paying or that require you to 'chase payments'. Restaurant Evaluators and Franchise Compliance (don't know that they every did restaurants) are non-payers, Freeman is slow and may soon be non-paying, Goodwin seems to still be in the slow category.

As for scheduling, there have been some recent conversations about getting into scheduling/editing. You should be able to find those using the "Search" feature of the forum.
I appreciate the information, thanks! I've applied for about 50 companies so far. I used to do some of the restaurant shops for a company that no longer does them and cannot seem to track them down. But this will definitely help.
I know the MSC that used to schedule shops for those clients you mentioned but I haven't seen any jobs from them lately. So I'm not sure if the MSC still has them as clients. Sorry but due to the ground rules, I'm not allowed to give the name of the MSC.

But I suggest you sign up with the Canadian MSCs. Some of them have casual and fine dining restaurant assignments.
I second the advice to sign up for the Canadian MSCs - they are more likely than US MSCs to have Canadian clients. Although there are US firms that do have shops in Canada. I think all of those that Flash mentioned as restaurant centric companies do have at least a few shops in Canada.

I did see a Montana's shop in the past month - but it seemed to be a one-off, so it might be just the franchise owner of that specific location and not corporate.

I personally live in the states, but close to the border so I do look around at what is in Canada, but do not really regularly shop there, so my knowledge is limited.
