Quest for Best Mystery Shoppers

Has anyone ever worked for this company...Is it a scam...seems too good to be true....do they ever get your bank info???? Very skeptical in Hawaii.

It is hard to know what they have sent you that seems too good to be true. Many scammers use the name of legitimate companies as part of their scams. Rules of thumb: real companies do not send you money up front to go do their shops, real companies do not talk about earning $200 per week or per job, real companies send you to their website to register rather than asking for personal data via email.

Quest for Best is a legitimate company and their website is [www.questforbest.com] where you can register to be a shopper for them.
I've completed 297 assignments for this MSC, which is owned by Chuck Roam and located in either Nashville or Memphis; I don't recall which city. All fees were paid as agreed, the reports area easy relative to the pay and Chuck is the epitome of flexibility.
Yes, the company is legit, but the email the OP received may not have been from the REAL company. In fact, if the email was completely unsolicited, it most probably is a scammer borrowing the company's name. The "too good to be true" is a bit of an alarm as well. The Quest for Best shops I've done are $20.00, hardly a figure I would put into that category.
They were one of my first, and have around a long time. They lost the one job they had, so haven't worked for them in over two years, I was sorry to see them go, loved my scheduler.

Live consciously....
I've been with them for 6 years. Small company only offers few womens' retail shops easy fair pay and on time.
I perform the women's retail shop for this company and occasionally the phone shops. I didn't know Chuck was the owner. He is the only person I have dealt with from there and I thought he was my scheduler lol (Well, actually he is.) I do just love him! He is patient and always willing to help.
I just performed my first shop for this MSC last week. The shop and the form were easy breezy. Two of the questions were basically asking the same thing so I called the office for clarification and the woman on the phone was nothing but nice. She appreciated the phone call.

BTW, they contacted me by e-mail because I am registered with the MSPA. But just in case that e-mail was a scam, I just used the link from this forum to register with Quest for Best.

I've done several shops for this company. They are professional, friendly and conscientious.

After one shop, I attempted to enter a report in a third-party system and it stated that the report had already been entered. Nancy's communication was stellar, and she made sure that I was paid for the shop (including bonus) even though the system never allowed me to enter it.

QfB was one of my very first MSCs, and sadly, I quickly realized that most other MSCs are not as much of a pleasure to work with.

ETA: My comments above are about the legitimate company. Your post suggests that you may have been contacted by a scammer posing as an employee. A legitimate company will not send you advance payment in any form prior to shop completion. In addition, if you did not sign up with an MSC, but you are contacted by someone purporting to work with that MSC, that is cause for questioning.

Go ahead, ask me to violate an ICA. I won't do it, and the MSCs that read the board will know not to hire you, since you can't be trusted.

Quest for Best is not a scam. However, if you got offered work that's "too good to be true" then that's likely scammers using Quest for Best's business name. Just about every MSC has been a victim of it. It gives MSing a scandalous reputation, though no fault of our own.
Minnie,

You're, of course, correct where Nancy's concerned. I've NEVER needed her assistance when it wasn't available. As Chuck's big sister, she admirably "holds down the fort."
I didn't have any problems with them when I did a few auto shops for them. They paid quickly and were nice, but I had to call before every shop for training that I didn't need. Still, they were fine.
If you are looking for a superb scheduler and an honest fast paying company see ServiceEvaluationConcepts - if you shop anywhere in or near NY call 516 714 0323 x3583 and ask for Joanne H. Superb support and flexibility, no BS on pay, great rates for relativley simple shops and straightforward reports. Do a good job for her and if you have problem own it and be upfront with her and you will never go wrong; she will go to bat for you with the company if she feels you deserve it.

And no she is not my wife, girlfriend, sister or aunt - merely the very first person I worked for in MS. Had I run across some of the other schedulers for whom I now work first, I probably would not be doing this.

Marie S. at athpower.com is also right up there in the top 1% of MS people. She is tough, will have no problem rejecting a shop if you don't do your job, but she will feed you all the work you can handle (at least in my area) and fight for bonuses for you.

I've been very happy with my shops from Quest. When there is a problem, Chuck Roam is right on top of it. You don't see much of that these days.
I loooooove this company. I gobble up the shops as soon as I can get them. One of my favorites.
Okay, I don't know if all of this snow has blinded me or what, but I don't see any contact information for them anywhere! What am I missing? I have questions on an upcoming shop. Would someone please send me an e-mail address or phone number?

Love this company. I do 3-4 shops a month for them. Wish they had more stuff in my area.

Some times you just have to turn around, give a little smile, toss the match, set the bridge ablaze, and walk away.

They have casual and upscale restaurants out here.

Quest For Best shops I have done are great. This is a legitimate company and a good one to work for; however the mail received could be a scam. Scammers use names of businesses so the scam will seem real and catch unsuspecting people.

Usually something that is to good to be true is not true.
I have done a total of 2 shops for this company. However, they have only one client in my area and though the shop is always heavily bonused, I am not inclined to do them again.
I've done two shops for them and had no problems at all. I wish there were more available.
